Windows 7 in Software ·
Nicole Baker63 said:Hey everyone, I have a question/issue
I'm running Windows 7 and my computer keeps shutting down more and more frequently... first it was every 3 hours, now it's every 2 hours
I get that the builds have expired, but I have no idea what to do until the final version drops in October... because the system just keeps crashing!
Any ideas?🤷

No, the beta phase is over and your PC will keep shutting down every hour until August 1st when it stops working entirely... so save your data while you still can and switch back to an older OS...
Buying a 5.1 surround sound system in Computer Peripherals ·
vividhawk19 said:Even so, a 5.1 setup beats any 2.1 system. Having more speakers just creates a better atmosphere, regardless of the wattage...

🤣
Are you sure about that? Any decent 2.1 system is 1000% better than this one... just because you have five speakers doesn't mean they'll actually sound good...
  • Definitely PCI-E
  • CPU: AMD Athlon 4200+ DualCore
    MB: MSI K9N SLI Platinum
    RAM: 2GB DDR2 (Kingmax)
    PSU: FORTRON BlueStorm 500W
  • Currently running at 1024x768 on a 17" monitor
  • $500 Budget is $150 (though I'd prefer closer to $140 😁 )
  • Any local shops or online stores

Thinking about an Nvidia GTX 260, but since I haven't kept up with the market lately, there might be something better out there...😉
Or maybe the 250GTS? Is the price jump actually worth it?
Basically looking for the best value GPU for about $150 to $220 that I won't need to touch for a few years...

I think the Mamba was supposed to hit Best Buy last week... maybe give them a call and see where the holdup is 🤷
Logitech S510 not working in Computer Peripherals ·
frozenlynx17 said:I think I finally got Windows sorted out... but now I need a different keyboard. I tried switching back to my old wireless one from AT&T along with my mouse, but nothing is working. It won't recognize them at all. I have no idea what's going on... any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks in advance🙂

What do you mean you were "fixing" Windows?? 😁
Try deleting the drivers and then reinstalling them..

Kenneth Fisher48 said:I figured Logitech was just overpriced... paying too much for the brand name alone...

Not sure about everyone else since I've only ever used Logitech. Did you actually own one of those other brands, or are you just saying Logitech is the top tier?

Where did I say Logitech was the absolute best? (Even though I have three of them at home). It's just that people recognize the quality of their gear, so they stick with it...

If you pick up a Razer, you probably won't regret it. It really just comes down to design and ergonomics... Personally, Razer mice don't feel right in my hand, so I pass. Meanwhile, some people swear by the Razer DeathAdder because it fits them perfectly...
Best tools for making a newspaper? in Software ·
holloweagle21 said:Is there a specific software out there for designing newspapers? I want something where I can build the layout, and then when I open the file, it acts like a digital flipbook... where I click the corner and it actually flips the page visually
just like a real newspaper...
Basically, WHAT SOFTWARE DO I USE TO MAKE A NEWSPAPER?

What you're describing isn't really a newspaper maker, it's just a digital PDF viewer...

Kenneth Fisher48 said:I found this list if anyone wants to weigh in on which one offers the best value. Honestly, it’s getting a bit exhausting seeing everyone act like Logitech is the only option out there. I look online and it's just constant Logitech hype because everyone happens to own one. It would be ideal to test all these mice in person, but for the average user, that's just not realistic...

Ever considered there might actually be a reason why everyone uses Logitech? ☕
Razer Diamondback 3g - macOS X64 in Computer Peripherals ·
then you're looking at a mouse driver issue...
does that key work in Vista?

that's just what happens when you buy a Razer 🤣
(just kidding)

That’s actually handled within the game settings themselves, not through macOS 🙄
