It’s totally normal for user numbers to fluctuate in any thread. People drop off for all sorts of reasons—getting hitched, having a kid, getting sick, whatever—and then new people jump in, so the crowd naturally shifts. But honestly, I’ve never seen a thread "die" so hard that it actually needs to be shut down, which is pretty much what analoglynx23 is implying here. ☕

There isn't less garbage; we just came up with better filters to catch it. Why bother rehashing the same stupid crap a thousand times just to make sure a thread doesn't look quiet for a few days? I'd much rather post nothing at all than some low-effort crap 🙂or some random nonsense like "the guy finished in the bathroom with the door open, am I pregnant?". 🙄

To be fair, there were more posts back when analoglynx23 was a mod, but let's be real: the stuff people used to post back then wouldn't fly today. I remember when you had twelve-year-olds constantly fighting in the threads, so they brought in the "no kids" rule, then the rule against linking profiles directly, then the rule against posting screenshots of names like Maw Swatkwic, then the rule about not posting screenshots of people who have 26 friends listed as family, and so on... I wonder how many posts were lost because of all that. It makes me wonder if those rules were even worth it. Because if we didn't have them, there would be way more posts, and the garbage wouldn't be considered "dead."

Every thread evolves with the times and new guidelines. Mods should stay on top of things and not let stuff like direct profile linking slide, even though I see it still happening despite being reported.
In my opinion, someone who doesn't follow their own rules doesn't really have much ground to stand on when accusing others of killing a thread.

Yeah, sure... that approach has proven to be quite effective on a few occasions.

I mean, damn, you're the moderator here. It’s on you to be the one holding the line. If someone's out there breaking the rules on purpose, you're supposed to step in and give them a warning or a penalty every single time. If you aren't consistent, everyone else starts thinking, "Well, if they can get away with it, why can't I?" It's just how it goes.

So, what's your big solution then? You gotta see this whole PDF setup makes zero sense. Anarchy sounds great on paper, but in reality? Not so much.😢

The last time they promised changes, we didn't expect things to go south this fast downward!

Basic rules are being broken constantly:
- quoting images
- direct profile linking
- linking people with disabilities (okay, doesn't have to be missing a leg, but if it's some illness, it's just not funny, damn it.🙂)
- then back to quoting images again
- then off-topic stuff.

Like I said, there are maybe six active threads on the Trash board, and three of those are daily staples—the food thread, the forum thread, and the corner for religion and the Lord.
The latest one is basically just a chat room, so there isn't much to moderate since nobody's really been insulting anyone yet.

That leaves two threads.
Two threads.
Just two freaking threads.
And three moderators.

Do I even need to explain further?
Look, use some logic: if those three can't handle three threads, then a single Chicken Coop or Religion thread should probably have 10 to 20 mods. How does a handful of people manage everything over there when there's more writing, more active topics, and way more insults and fighting—none of which happens here on the Trash board?🤷

His answers are short because he's tied down by an NDA with the main site and can't say a word without checking with the big bosses first.🙂

Then the prestige goes out the window, all the flakes bail, and the crew stays up partying until sunrise. Everything just goes to hell.

Since we’re talking about moderation, there’s this massive image sitting on the Facebook thread from last night. If nobody else bothered, I went ahead and reported it pretty much right after it went up. Though, honestly, I doubt the server even picked up the report 😉

By the way, you can moderate by actually looking through the threads, not just waiting for someone to flag something. There’s only four of you on the team, and there are maybe six active threads total.

Personally, I think this size is just right—you can actually see what's going on in the photo without it being a total mess. When images are way too huge, they just warp my screen and I end up giving up on reading the thread entirely.
Also, let's be real: any page loaded with massive files (or a bunch of them in a row) takes forever to load compared to a page with standard-sized images.
I'm digging this layout; it's clean. Besides, let's go with that old mantra: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." 😬

Honestly, I don't really care if they're "healthy" or whatever. The guy loves his junk food, but when I sit down to eat something processed, I at least expect it to taste good. This was the first time some fast food actually drove me to grab a homemade sausage for dinner instead of 😬

If there’s a thread you really want locked down, just hit up the subreddit mods. They’ll usually take care of it for you without much fuss.
You can ask them to scrap a post entirely too, though I get the feeling they only pull the trigger on deletions if things are getting truly out of hand.

Honestly, you shouldn't even have to go through the hassle of messaging the mods just to lock or delete someone else's stuff.

But yeah, there isn't any way for you to do it yourself.

Man, just think about it. You’ve got a woman who worked her entire life, scraping together every penny for her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. Now she’s sitting there all alone, living off $400 every month, and even basic groceries like carrots feel like a luxury because the stuff at the supermarket tastes like nothing compared to what you'd get at a local farmers market. Technically, you shouldn't even need to bother with withdrawal when you're on the pill because they're super dependable—Google it if you want the hard data. But, plenty of things can mess with the effectiveness. Like, are they being taken at the exact same time every day? Are you taking other meds? For example, certain antibiotics can totally tank how well the pill works, etc., etc.
Speaking from experience, I’ve used the pill during regular unprotected sex and I’m still not pregnant. 😁
But again, there are cases where a woman does everything perfectly (like those examples I just mentioned) and the pill still fails her.
The pill is never 100% foolproof.

Honestly, the best move is for her to just chat with her OB-GYN about all this. And hey, if you're really losing sleep over it, you can always just use a condom as an extra layer. With that combo, you wouldn't even need to worry about withdrawal, and if she still gets pregnant after that... well, then you're looking at odds similar to getting hit by a toilet seat falling out of a plane. Fate is just playing dirty with you then. 😛 🙂
