I’m with you on calling 911 (though I’m really hoping Harold Chavez3 already cleared out). Regarding the Zaldiar, my dentist was super strict about it—told me point-blank not to mix it with any other Tylenol or random pills. There's basically a whole laundry list of stuff you aren't supposed to combine with it. Plus, they said you need a full 6-hour gap between doses, which obviously means you shouldn't be touching anything else in the meantime either. The only way you'd take it differently is if your doctor specifically writes a different script for you.
Anthony Watson7 said:So, I'm on birth control—specifically Yaz—but my question is for everyone here. As an Oral Contraceptive, shouldn't the cycle be standardized to exactly 28 days, just like the textbooks say?😁 Now, I just finished my second pack. With the first one, bleeding started on day 4 of the break, but this time it hit on day 6. That makes it a 30-day cycle. Does it take some time for things to stabilize? Like, three or four months before it hits "to the minute" precision? Or am I just an outlier because my cycles were incredibly irregular before starting this? I’m mainly taking it to manage PCOS on my right ovary.
I used to have such messed up, irregular bleeding. It was honestly so unpredictable that there was this whole stretch where my period just completely vanished for two years straight. 😬Honestly, none of that even touched my cycle on the pill. I'm due for day 28 this Saturday, probably sometime between noon and 3 PM. 🤣
Look, my take is that your body just needs time to adjust to the pills. Your cycle will eventually level out once things settle down. For me, it took about four packs before the side effects finally quit and I felt (almost) totally used to being on Lindynette. I’ve got PCOS too, so my cysts aren't exactly tiny. 😁
I don't think your period actually needs to show up like clockwork on day 28 every single month. Honestly, as long as it stays consistent—like how it's hitting every 30 days for you right now—that's totally fine. It doesn't have to follow the textbook perfectly to be normal.
I’m with redranger2 on this one. Honestly, there have been plenty of times where my doctors—not just the psych ones, but everyone—didn't bother telling me the side effects of what they were prescribing. So now, I find myself grilling anyone and everyone I can, including people here on this forum, just to make sure I'm staying safe. It’s not about being a know-it-all; it’s just basic self-care at this point. If you know option B actually exists, but someone is shoving option A down your throat, you’ve got every right to ask why B wasn't even on the table to begin with.
Honestly, it just depends on which doctor you’re seeing. Everyone’s got their own specific playbook and they'll prescribe whatever they think is best for your particular situation. You aren't going to get the exact same med or dosage for the same condition every single time. Just ask them—it’s not like it costs you anything to get some clarity 🙂
Insomnia isn't exactly a rare thing 🙂 just flip through the last few pages. There’s a ton of stuff on sleep issues in there; might actually be useful if you end up getting prescribed any of those meds (I think Ambien gets mentioned most often alongside xanax or Ativan)
And yeah, doctors definitely prescribe antipsychotics for sleep sometimes.
So, with my last doctor, I was actually sticking to the treatment plan religiously for like 8 or 9 months. All that time, I was stuck on Seroxet because he refused to budge. His whole logic was basically, "It’s definitely going to kick in eventually, just keep taking it. It's the best antidepressant out there, it'll work for you, just hang in there." He wouldn't touch the dosage or swap the med, even though I clearly wasn't feeling any better. Honestly, once I finally stopped taking it, things actually felt way worse.
Anyway... now I'm heading over to the VA hospital (I think my referral says "Main Campus") and I'm just praying I get a doctor who actually has some patience and a bit of common sense.
I’ve cut everything else out. Just two Helex a day to keep my head straight right now (still on Reglan for my stomach and some meds for PCOS). Honestly, the anxiety is pretty brutal, but I refuse to feel like a total zombie again. That feeling was just... not it.🙂
Really hoping I land a doctor who actually listens instead of just pushing every pill in the cabinet on me..
redranger2 said:Honey, it’s difficult to pinpoint which antidepressant works best for anxiety; the only one that truly succeeds is the one that actually works for you. It might actually help you. Take a friend of mine, for instance; a single dose of Ladiomila puts him right to sleep, yet for me, it does nothing but leave me wide awake and restless. There are simply no universal rules when it comes to this stuff.
What kind of medication were you taking before that left you feeling like such a zombie? Don't let the prospect of future treatments weigh on you; they are designed specifically to provide relief and help you move forward. You simply have to find the one that actually fits your life, rather than settling for something that only serves to make things worse.🙂
risset + seroxat + Akineton + Helex 🙄 3 + 1 + 2 + 5 = 11 (that's the order I listed them above)
Honestly, I just want something that helps without nuking my emotions. I'd much rather feel sad when things actually suck than be some mindless zombie who can't even cry or process anything, while everything just eats away at me from the inside.
When I finally stopped my meds, the flood of emotions was honestly terrifying. It hit me how much I'd forgotten what being happy even feels like.😲
Though, once I tell my doctor how bad it's been, I'll probably get prescribed something even heavier because the way I describe it sounds pretty grim. But the thing is, I just need a tiny bit of help to get back to baseline. I can handle the rest on my own.🙂 I don't need a motorized scooter to carry me through life; I just need a little crutch to help me walk steady on my own.😁
I’m trying to figure out which antidepressant actually works best for anxiety. Like, the heavy-duty kind. I feel like I saw someone mention a specific one on the last few pages of this thread, but now I can’t find the post for the life of me 😠
Anyway, my appointment is on January 28th. Honestly, I'm pretty nervous about starting a new regimen. Last time I tried meds, I just felt like a total zombie, and yet the anxiety and depression didn't even budge 🙄
So, I’ve been on antidepressants (Seroxat) and birth control (Lindynette) at the same time. Honestly, being a total anxiety wreck, I actually went out of my way to ask my gynecologist, my psychiatrist, AND my GP if they were going to cancel each other out. They all told me no. My OBGYN basically shut me down, too—she was like, "What kind of nonsense is that? Why would you even ask me that?" 😬
I’ve been digging through so much info online and honestly, it feels like you can find an answer for everything and absolutely nothing all at once. 🙂
Heading to my doctor now, just wondering if they'll stick me back on my old meds or try something totally different. I'm not exactly jumping for joy either way ☕, but I'm seriously hoping they'll at least give me some kind of treatment plan—otherwise, this PMS is going to drive me straight to the edge. 🙂
Justin Rogers5 said:Has any of you ladies ever taken Eglonyl, or maybe you're on it right now? Did it mess with your period or cause any other issues down there?
I’ve been on Eglonyl before, but it didn't touch my cycle. Then again, my periods have always been a mess anyway, so I don't really have a baseline to go off of.😁 Here's this thread all about it 🙂, so check out what people are saying.
Personally, I'm wondering if a low dose of an antipsychotic would actually help with derealization and depersonalization?
Not trying to clutter things up with a new thread here... but quick question: can I actually delete a post entirely during that edit window (the 90-minute thing), or does the system cut you off sooner if you try to wipe it?
