I suppose at some point I’ll just have to force myself to sit down and listen to N.W.A. because, honestly, it feels like the right thing to do...

There are still plenty of us left! 🙂

What happens when those gritty no-wave musicians suddenly decide to take a detour into disco? You end up with a total, wicked mutant.
The second long play from those wicked, perverse guys in denim features nine tracks in total, and I think we actually had the chance to hear the last two of them previously when they were released as a single! I’ve been thinking about that concept lately—you know, the one where the TV actually grows limbs? It sounds like something straight out of a surrealist horror flick, but there's something oddly poetic about it. It’s almost like the screen isn't just a window anymore, but a living, breathing entity reaching out to grab you. Then you add the idea of "the drowning" into the mix, and things get even more intense. I guess you could look at it as being completely overwhelmed by media, like you're sinking under the weight of everything being broadcasted at you. Maybe it's a metaphor for how we lose ourselves in the digital noise until we can't swim back to the surface. It's a heavy thought, but honestly, it's pretty fascinating to chew on!I suspect the old-school fans who only want that gritty, underground vibe might finally give up on this band. The synth work is getting louder by the day, and it’s practically forcing everyone onto the dance floor like never before! Personally, though, I’m actually looking forward to seeing if they can capture that magic from their 2007 era again. It’s been a pretty solid year so far, even if nothing else has dropped lately. 👋

I honestly think I’ve found it—the absolute best song in the entire universe: "tv grows arms."
I guess I should probably mention the TV... 🙂

The album drops tomorrow! 😳

what do you mean I'm missing out?

I guess this Battles stuff isn't bad, but those Smurfs they have singing just kind of wear me down 😠 and all that folk influence on that folk vibe

I WAS WRONG 😳 <:-o ACTUALLY, THE BEST WORKS ARE STILL ``STRAP.IT.ON`` AND ``MEANTIME`` (.us) BUT THAT DOESN'T REALLY COUNT.
If those Smurf-style vocals bother you, maybe try the EPs instead? I think it was only recently that Tyondai Braxton (lol, I can't remember his full name) realized that singing could actually work.

I honestly think John Stanier is the greatest drummer to ever pick up sticks. Period. And when it comes to Battles, I truly believe this group represents the absolute peak of everything they’ve been involved in.

Anyway, why don't you try your hand at writing some poetry since you seem to have such a keen sense of style? 🙂 😈

If people were all about Boney M back in the day, why couldn't this be serious business? And really, does it even matter 🙂 🙂

Anyway, Jope, I have to side with Kevin Chavez3; intentions don't really mean much in the end. What matters is the result and whether you can actually enjoy it.
I guess I'll defend anyone's right to take a massive dump on the work of the Ramones, John Zorn, or Stravinsky if it happens to be bad at what they do (not that I think they are—just using examples!) without being immediately labeled a snob just because they don't know how to appreciate the simple things. Sheesh.

Lisa Flores74 said:And regarding all that indie versus mainstream nonsense—I just want to point out that a lot of people on this forum seem to act like "the less famous the music is, the better it must be," and then they use that as an excuse to act superior and constantly bash anyone who hasn't heard of some obscure underground band.

🙂
Well, I’m stuck here in Chicago right now, though I have to admit, I’d much rather be hanging out in Indianapolis 🙂
Kevin Chavez3, I guess you mean 🙂
?
we're pulling 🙏 😍
Oh, please. That plug-in vampire actually has the nerve to apologize to his victims—especially Jason Richardson5 via text message. 🙂
Drunken posts are always the best posts🤣

Jason Richardson5, I owe you a huge apology for dumping work on you when you should've been out enjoying life and grabbing a drink like a normal person (:S .ss:S🙏:S🙏S:S: 😍.), honestly. I-am on a diet right now, but since I'm a hungry guy, maybe a beer would have cleared my head better—it felt totally reasonable at the time to just hand you the merch guy duties 😳 😳 thanks so much for getting it done 😘

By the way, Cog is pretty decent in Chicago, but in Indianapolis, he’s basically just burning down small towns and terrorizing the locals 🙏 I guess that's just the home-field advantage...

And honestly, Mengele is probably the finest tone master on the planet 😍
Thanks again to analogharbor442 for looking out for us, aww
I don't think I've ever written such a sappy post before 😳
