Congress said:but what about apples and wine?🙂

It’s on Pharrell Williams' album, so I haven't really sat down to tally them up, but if I were to rank them, I guess it would definitely take the top spot!😍

stormyviper11 said:I mean, there are definitely bands out there playing through cheap practice amps, but those are pretty much the exception.

It’s not really about the main topic, but I feel like I should jump in and correct you there! For most musicians—especially in the rock scene—if they can actually afford a decent setup, they are almost certainly using tube amps...

Check out www.guitargeek.com if you need some proof! 😁

I guess we're just following whatever our manager laid out for us yesterday, so we'll stick to the plan for now. If anything happens to change, I'll be sure to post an update here...

So, mark your calendars! This Saturday, February 4th, there’s a concert happening at the Papillon riverside venue featuring

Studio 54 (a post-punk group out of Seattle)
+
Zero (an ambient rock act from a small town in the Midwest)

Entry is totally free, and the show kicks off at 8:30 PM since everything needs to wrap up by 11:00 PM roll call
I really hope to see you all there! 🙂

I guess I should probably mention that things are looking pretty good lately! Everything seems to be moving along quite nicely, if you ask me. It’s been such a pleasant stretch, and honestly, I’m just feeling really optimistic about where everything is headed. Maybe it's just my mood today, but I truly believe we're heading in a great direction! kaže:
It’s like a total sonic theater experience! The mid-range tones have such a gorgeous, granular texture to them, though I guess the soundstage feels a little blurry around the edges. I have a feeling that if I swap out this power cable, the whole thing might finally settle into a perfect sense of calm. But man, just listen to that timbre—it is absolutely incredible!

🤣
David Sullivan4 As I was saying:
I think I’ve got some massive hits playing at my place right now! Seriously, the vibe is incredible.

Honestly, what we’re doing over here doesn't really have anything to do with you guys. 🙂
🥳

I’m honestly not sure yet. I think I'll just wait until my tax refund hits my account before I go out and pick up a decent, high-quality turntable—instead of this cheap junk I picked up off some old clearance rack. By the way, I have to agree with you; for me, the cover art is definitely the best part of an LP. 😬
In any case, I really love both CeeLo Green and anyone else I can find an original copy of if the opportunity pops up. I just have this thing where I love owning the original CD—I guess I can't quite put my finger on why, Kastie.

Kevin Chavez3 said:Have I hedged my bets? Absolutely. I’d say Terrorizer, Extreme Noise Terror, and early Napalm Death definitely fall under the punk umbrella—I'm pretty sure you'll agree with me there. 🙂

I'm with you on that!

I honestly think Celtic Frost might be more your style. I've only listened to their first album, but man, it just blows everything I've heard from Void, Discharge, and GBH combined out of the water...

Dear Douglas Taylor4,
I’d say the main distinction between death metal and black metal lies in the structure. In death metal, you usually run into irregular time signatures, more intricate arrangements, and riffing based on chromatic scales (unless you're listening to the melodic variety). Plus, the production tends to be quite polished or even sterile—meaning you can actually hear everything clearly. As for the vocals, they mostly feature those deep, guttural growls, though that isn't always a hard rule.
Black metal, on the other hand, feels much more stripped-back. You have guitarists layering melodies over drummers who are just trying their best to maintain a steady blast beat, and the production is... well, let's just say it's definitely unique (which is a polite way of saying you can barely hear anything!). The vocals usually sound like high-pitched shrieks. Of course, that really only applies to the raw, old-school style; those bands using keyboards and super clean production are a completely different story altogether.

gentlepuma20 said:What about Carcass? Maybe give Swansong or Heartwork a spin—or honestly, just listen to both! 😍

Is anyone else thinking about Swansong lately? I was just sitting here wondering if it still holds up the way I remember it. Maybe I'm just feeling nostalgic, but I guess there's something about that record that sticks with you. What do you all think?
I honestly thought I was the only one who felt this way! Maybe it’s just me, but I really felt like it was just my own personal take. 🤔
I was just browsing mp3bre.com
I wonder if you can stream in high-fidelity mode on there too? Honestly, the homepage is absolutely wild.

Here are my top 4 biggest hair disasters:

1. Letting a stylist take a breather by playing whatever random magazine CD happens to be lying around the shop—and definitely not anything by Howard. I don’t think I’ve ever felt more foolish or looked more ridiculous after a haircut than I did that time.
2. Switching up my entire look just because I wanted a change of scenery, rather than actually wanting a new hairstyle. It was a bit of a mistake, I guess.
3. Trying out a different barber just because my usual guy was unavailable. This happened just yesterday, and since I rushed home without thinking, I instinctively started trying to fix it myself—even though I’m probably a danger to myself and everyone else when I hold a pair of scissors!
4. Getting into an argument with your barber. That's never a good idea, I suppose.
