Help! I can't get this fever to break :( in Health ·
Angela Wright said:A dental granuloma can trigger systemic issues—it doesn't always hurt, yet an infection can quietly simmer beneath a filling or deep within a tooth.

Regarding the bladder inflammation, symptoms aren't always obvious even when an infection is present. If a urinalysis shows white blood cells or bacteria, that could easily be the root cause. Infections—especially those triggered by E. coli—tend to be stubborn and prone to recurring.

Given your family history with cancer, I believe a more rigorous diagnostic approach is warranted. Speak candidly with your primary doctor and request a referral to a specialist for more in-depth testing.

thanks 🙂 clearly, it could be the teeth or the bladder...
honestly, the cancer talk is mostly my own anxiety since I'm much younger than those we lost... but I know better than to let my guard down.😉
I should mention I feel better today—the insomnia has eased up. I stopped the Lekoklar 500 mg therapy... so, naturally, there was immediate improvement.🙂

Perhaps it is time to find a new doctor....😁

My weight has always been stable—I eat pretty much everything from garden salads to steak and burgers😁 but I have never felt this fragile. I’ve dealt with the flu and strep before, but nothing quite like this shingles flare-up...
My cycles are regular, though I deal with occasional yeast infections—a direct result of being on constant antibiotic rounds...

I am starting to spiral into panic about the possibility of a tumor—four of my family members, ranging from close relatives to distant ones, have passed away from cancer😢

Angela Wright said:It’s as if there's some hidden focal point of infection somewhere in your body. How are your teeth holding up? Have you had a urinalysis done?

I visit the dentist religiously—I'm a bit of a dental fanatic—and I actually just had a cavity patched up recently.🙂
why?

My doctor didn't order any urine tests, but as far as I can tell—based on how things feel—there aren't any issues there.🙂😉

I neglected to mention—during those "crisis" periods, I either find myself drenched in sweat overnight or dealing with these sudden bouts of chills.😢

Hi everyone, it’s me again—unfortunately.😢

Ever since I started this thread, the issues just won't let up...

After the initial suspicion of pneumonia and finishing my treatment, I felt better for about two weeks—then the 99°F fever and mild fatigue returned. No runny nose, no cough, nothing... nasal swabs, throat cultures, blood work, and chest X-rays all came back completely clear. My doctor suggested taking a Center supplement daily, so I started that along with propolis, Vitamin C, and royal jelly—essentially a nutritional powerhouse.😁

Then, despite all those vitamins, I caught a standard cold that lasted six days. Things seemed fine until last week when I developed chronic sinusitis and was prescribed Lekoklar 500 mg—which, predictably, gave me insomnia.😢 Right now, the sinus infection is gone, but I'm stuck with major sleep issues and that persistent 99°F temperature...
I have two pills left over....

Basically, over the last three months, I seem to fall ill every two weeks—sometimes she prescribes antibiotics, other times she tells me to just sweat it out.

😕

I'm starting to feel like I'm losing my mind; I even bought a new thermometer just to be sure, and it shows the exact same thing—this constant low-grade fever.

It’s getting awkward going back to my doctor to ask for more referrals when every single test comes back normal...

🤷
Why am I always getting sick? in Health ·
I empathize with the OP 😢 I’ve been dealing with something similar... 😬
I also tend 👍 toward all-natural remedies and herbal products—though, in my experience, they haven't provided much relief 😢

Is it possible my immune system is just compromised? I notice that whenever I’m sleep-deprived due to work, I run a mild fever almost immediately. 😢 Unfortunately, maintaining a healthy lifestyle is a tall order these days—between the constant hustle, the stress, the processed food, and the unpredictable weather... 😢

cosmicmaker30 said:Exactly—and besides, antibiotics are standard if the infection is alveolar...

And what about that? 🙈

I think I'm feeling better—less exhausted, at least.

Angela Wright said:Honestly, I’d still suggest getting some blood work done. Hopefully she's right and you start feeling better soon.

🤷

I'll give the antibiotic about 2-3 days to kick in—if things haven't cleared up by then, I'll head straight to the ER.

Hi everyone🙂

Just got back from the doctor—she prescribed me Amoxicillin...

I walked her through all my symptoms just like I did here, though I did mention the loss of appetite—which is quite odd, considering I usually feel like snacking every five minutes.😁

She checked my throat and noted some slight inflammation on the side, but since swallowing isn't painful and nothing feels swollen, she said we can rule out mono...🤷

She listened to my lungs again—everything sounds clear, and I figured it wasn't worth being difficult by suggesting specific tests myself...

She mentioned this antibiotic covers both upper and lower respiratory issues, so 👍

Well, there it is—chapter closed (hopefully).🙂

Thanks for the advice.

Melissa James70 said:In your first post, you mentioned having absolutely zero symptoms—no sore throat, no congestion, no cough. So, clearly, the bolded parts don't apply to you. Let's steer clear of the amateur internet diagnoses, Wikipedia medical deep-dives, and self-prescribing. It might be pneumonia, or it might not; there are a thousand different reasons for a fever.

Kudos to the internet—it really is the premier way to spread viral hypochondria.
Keep Googling, and I'm certain you'll manage to diagnose yourself with at least five more ailments.

The cough only started last night, and even then, it's minimal...

As for the bolded text, it’s the same as my first post—fever and fatigue.

At any rate, a doctor will provide the actual diagnosis eventually...

cosmicmaker30 said:Don't mention it... we still aren't entirely certain if it's actually pneumonia. You should head to your doctor to have them review those test results—depending on how far along the infection is, they'll determine which medications you need...
I wouldn't even suspect it myself if I hadn't dealt with a similar situation once... besides, you haven't mentioned all your symptoms yet...

The only thing that doesn't quite fit is the cough... I only had one instance of a dry cough when I felt a bit of a chill.😁

I will, thanks.🙂

Atypical pneumonia: bird exposure and AC units
Atypical pneumonia gets its name because the clinical presentation differs somewhat from "typical" cases—the culprits being viruses, fungi, or intracellular microorganisms.
The symptoms mimic the flu, usually featuring a dry cough. From a radiological standpoint, you see subtle, interstitial changes—often bilateral—which are vital for reaching a diagnosis. It presents with muscle aches, fatigue, fever, and a non-productive cough (meaning nothing actually comes up).
Certain types, such as those caused by Chlamydia (transmitted via birds) or Legionella (typically found in contaminated AC systems), can be quite severe. Generally, these pathogens don't just target the lungs; they can affect other organs like the liver, kidneys, or brain. A patient's overall condition can become critical, often necessitating intensive care in a hospital setting. If a doctor suspects "atypical" pneumonia based on symptoms and scans, they prescribe different antibiotics than those used for "typical" cases. Treatment is also more prolonged—lasting at least two weeks.

I did a bit of my own digging🙂

The bolded part refers to me... I honestly find it hard to believe my doctor didn't make the connection, especially since I specifically mentioned feeling weak and working in an office with central air. 😠😠😠

It’s funny how someone on a forum can provide a diagnosis before a professional does...🙂🙂 thanks🙂

So, I suppose I really do need to head back to the doctor?😢

cosmicmaker30 said:lol... honestly, I had a patient once who sat at a steady 99.5 degrees for about ten days—just drifting along. She’d already seen her primary care physician, who dismissed it as some minor bug. Ten days later, she shows up at our clinic, and after the doctor orders an X-ray, it turns out she had viral pneumonia all along... just flying under the radar. No other symptoms besides the fever and fatigue. Not even worth mentioning that nothing came up via stethoscope. In the end, she didn't take any meds; bloodwork looked fine, aside from slightly low white cell counts due to the Tylenol...

😲😲

thanks 🙂

So, am I getting a prescription? To be honest, I’d rather not waste my afternoon sitting in a waiting room if I can just manage this from home...

p.s. is there anything else for a fever besides Lupocet?

I'm fine, honestly—my doctor gave me the all-clear during our appointment on Tuesday, so everything was perfectly normal then.🙂

cosmicmaker30 said:It doesn't seem like the flu—there would be more distinct symptoms... 🙂 ... though, one question remains... are you feeling exhausted and sluggish?....

Yes, I am sleeping all day and yet I still feel drained.😢

So, it isn't the flu? It's too early in the season, and there aren't any classic clinical symptoms.🤷

It could be a simple virus—or it could be anything at all. 🤷

Well, damn—it's Saturday tomorrow, which means zero progress...😢

I just hope it isn't the swine flu. 😬

A bit of advice...🤷
Help! I can't get this fever to break :( in Health ·
Hello everyone🙂

It’s been six days now—and I mean all day, every day—of dealing with this fever. It isn't spiking wildly, but functioning while running a temperature is hardly easy.

Without Lupocet, I’m sitting at 99.5°F; once I take Lupocet, it only drops to about 98.2°F—a pattern that has persisted for five full days.

I went to see my doctor, but she wasn't willing to prescribe anything else... I don't have any other symptoms—no congestion, no sore throat, no cough.🤷🤷

I've tried tea, Vitamin C, and plenty of rest, but nothing seems to work.😢

I'm reaching my breaking point here... how does one actually get rid of a fever?
Hi everyone🙂

Has anyone here undergone a simple "dorsal hump reduction" alone?😁

To be clear—I am not looking to change the tip, width, or length of my nose—but rather just smooth out this bump (😢) when viewed from the profile. Is such a targeted procedure possible, and how does the process work? Also, the pain factor—how bad is it?

I’m honestly pretty terrified—I know a girl who had full rhinoplasty on her entire nasal structure, and she’s still dealing with intense pain even four months later...😢😢

My thirty-three-year-old aunt handled it using some product from Neutrogena—I can't recall the exact name... some kind of oil... you can find it at CVS.🙂
