Rest in Peace, legend! 😢

What a voice. Pure charisma. Unmatched stage energy. And those legs. 🙏

She was 60 years old here. 🙏

One Last Time Live in Concert (Wembley)

In January 1988, Turner performed in front of approximately 180,000 at Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, setting a Guinness World Record at the time for the largest paying concert attendance for a solo artist. 🙏

'Steamy Windows' (Live in Barcelona, 1990)

And this Bond theme is killer. 'GoldenEye' (1995). Her appearance in the music video is everything. 🙏

It's a damn shame I never got the chance to see her live.

AMC runs "The Good House" every now and then, and HBO does the same with "Call Jane." You can also find both of them sitting in their video libraries.

Caught this on TV a while back. The first movie definitely goes overboard with the drama, but it was actually a fun watch. Honestly, I didn't find any of the characters particularly grating.

Honestly, this performance is absolutely killer. Her vocals and energy are just next level.
'Steamy Windows' (Live in FC Barcelona, 1990)

And this is one of my all-time favorite Bond themes: 'GoldenEye' (1995). Seeing her show up in the music video was iconic. 🙏

It's a damn shame I never got the chance to catch one of her concerts live.

Tina Turner says goodbye to her late son: "Closing my eyes in grief and thinking of you, my beloved"

Tina Turner shared a touching tribute on social media to say goodbye to her son, Ronnie Turner.

Ronnie was found Thursday morning outside his house in Los Angeles. His neighbors tried to revive him, but it was no use.

No official cause of death has been released yet, so we don't know if it was linked to a previous cancer diagnosis. His wife, Afida, confirmed the tragic news by posting a series of photos of him on her Instagram.

His mother, the 83-year-old legend, later posted a black-and-white photo as a final farewell to her son.

"Ronnie, you left this world too soon. In my grief, I close my eyes and think of you, my beloved son," she wrote.

This tragedy comes just four years after the singer's older son, Craig, took his own life in July 2018. Turner had Craig when she was only 18, following a pregnancy with saxophonist Raymond Hill.

Just caught "The Good House" at AMC Theatres. Honestly, I dug the movie, and the character Hildy Good and her whole arc really worked for me. 🙂 Sigourney Weaver was masterful, obviously, as per usual. 🙂

Just rewatched this after ages. Still hits just as hard. 😁

Max is an absolute icon, pulling off that fake Russian accent right before deportation to impersonate Tensy. 🤣 That restaurant scene is peak—watching her eat meat with pure disgust while chatting up the waiter "Yeah? / Yeah!" and trying anything to dodge singing in Russian.
"It's such a joy to hear my native tongue again. I deeply appreciate what you say and what you don't say, eh?"
Then there's Tensy pushing those cigarettes like they’re high fashion, making Max recoil from kissing him because of the smell, even when she brings him back to life by inhaling that smoke. 😂

When Tensy wakes her up saying he’s got a gift, she jumps and blurts out "what?" only to realize she dropped the accent, so she repeats the shock to fix it. Then comes the personalized lighter. 😂

That moment where she begs Dean for another shot, playing dumb and acting sweet while he's threatening them both, only for him to shut her down? She drops the act immediately and snaps "fine!" 😂

That's easily her second best moment. Number one is obviously when she's fighting him in that tiny shuttle as Ripley in the first alien movie, crawling into the space suit.

What about this scene? 😬

I watched this a while back. The premise is actually pretty interesting, but the movie drags way too much. It gets boring at times, and honestly, Joanna was just exhausting—I never really found myself rooting for her character at all. Sigourney Weaver is, as usual, absolutely stellar. Her character feels like a total mashup of Katharina Parker from Working Girl and Miranda Priestly from The Devil Wears Prada.

They try to "smooth out" faces in movies too. Total nonsense.

She’s iconic as the action legend Ellen Ripley, but lately, she’s been killing it as Dr. Augustine in Avatar.

In my book, she is massively underrated. The Academy just keeps overlooking her, even though she’s been delivering flawless performances for years.

She’s my absolute favorite actress; I’ve honestly sat through entire movies just because she was in them. Take Ridley Scott's Exodus: Gods and Kings—I saw that in theaters, and even though she only had a brief appearance, she still stood out. 🕺 Then you have the mediocre stuff like Abduction and The Cold Light of Day, or the total trash that was The Assignment, but she still managed to be great in those too.

She was phenomenal in Copycat, and especially in Snow Cake, where she teamed up again with the late Alan Rickman after that genius comedy Galaxy Quest.

She completely blew me away in A Monster Calls.

She’s just so Charismatic. I love catching her interviews on YouTube.

The opening film for this year's Berlin International Film Festival is My Salinger Year.

Found a solid article in German.
It argues that she’s way more than just her most famous role, highlighting how awesome she is in comedies. It also mentions how she wishes her other work got more credit, specifically noting that she was snubbed for her best performance, which the author thinks was in The Ice Storm by Ang Lee.

Just caught this movie on TV.

Solid concept, but yeah, it drags. It starts getting tedious right after Margaret dies.
The character played by Elizabeth Olsen felt totally unnecessary—even if she did eventually figure out the trick Robert De Niro’s character was using at the end.
That ending twist, "You can't deny yourself forever," was actually pretty sharp.
But honestly, they glossed over Margaret's death way too much. They mention she succumbed to an illness—showing some shots of her taking meds—but before that, Ty had this massive blowout fight with her and said some real nasty stuff. The actual death scene itself felt unfinished.

Overall though, it's a decent watch. 🙂

silvertiger11 said:Good movie, but it gets boring toward the end.

And I was a bit let down by how rushed Sigourney's death was, but since I have a soft spot for Robert De Niro, I'm still satisfied with the flick.
