My top 10 veggies:

Look, I wouldn't say I'm that much of an anti-everything type; some of them are actually alright:

- As for those "cantaloupe vs. honeydew" debates? We all know which one is which, so why even bother giving in to that pressure from the folks in Chicago? 😉
Honestly, honeydew is the superior choice; cantaloupe is just... meh. 🙄
- I'd also throw in some cucumbers 🙏 especially when you're tossing a salad. 🙂
- Swiss chard 😍 and spinach 😍
- Bell peppers are fine, I guess.
- Sauerkraut is hit or miss for me, though it's pretty legendary in a salad, particularly if you grab some from a deli in New Orleans!

redcrane28 said:Don't take this personally, but this post is just straight-up depressing. What, did you never eat any real food growing up? No roasted vegetables, no cucumber salad, no lentils, kale, stewed greens, sauerkraut, or black radishes?
I don't see what being raised by hippie parents has to do with anything—mine weren't hippies, so they cooked all that stuff, and since I didn't mind it, that's just how we ate at home. For my last birthday, I actually asked for a 🙂 "classic American cookbook," and honestly, it wasn't an idiotic gift at all.

Did I mention the one saving grace, which is that most of my veggies are already 🤮?
Talking about that list above—the greens, lentils, kale, radish, and black radish. ☕

My family knows how to cook green things, especially when my grandma comes over, though she usually gets the seasoning wrong. 😢
And when it comes to portobello mushrooms specifically, it's a real shame when people say they taste too much like onions. 😍

Are you seriously trying to force me back into a life without garlic? Is that really what you want for me? :2up:

Must be nice having hippie parents. Honestly, I don't even know what a proper home-cooked meal looks like because mine absolutely loathed the idea of cooking and probably never even turned on the stove.

Just a year ago, I didn't even know what garlic was used for, and now? Now I'm going through my salt and pepper shakers like there's no tomorrow just to get that flavor in everything I eat.🙂

You’re being paranoid; nobody actually hates high heels. ☕
Why do concerts always have an encore? in Music ·
Why not? To the average person, it’s really nothing more than a sign that everything is about to go south in twenty minutes or so. ☕

Bob Dylan exists primarily because the audience chooses to lie to themselves, convincing themselves that this particular night is somehow uniquely special, all while a handful of fools actually swallow the whole act.

Purely coincidental. Don't be an idiot. 🙂

Sean Lee7 said:I mean, they have to get them delivered somehow, for God's sake! It's not like some corner bakery where they can just toss them from the floor into the display case.

But they’re still selling them right there in all that trash. 😢

Regardless, as far as I'm concerned, I won't be buying any. At least not until this whole mess of overproduction and cheap quality stops killing them off. If anyone hears about a day when they're being delivered to stores by some plump, rosy-cheeked lady carrying a huge basket covered in linen napkins, let me know. ☕

Anyway, let's wrap up the donut talk; honestly, I don't even know what a Chocolate Prince is, so maybe this whole discussion was pointless to begin with. 😉

So, what are we talking about here—that five-pack or whatever they call it when it’s all lined up in a single row? Just a cardboard box wrapped in cellophane? 🤔
Is he some kind of chocolate prince? 😕

coastalpanther11 said:Man, Samuel Murphy6... Look, if Sean Lee7 starts talking about food, you can bet your life he’s right. Those five-minute donut holes are the gold standard; they’re basically just mini donuts without the massive sugar crash afterward.

Anyway, here is a quick list of advice for Samuel Murphy6:

1. Next time Sean Lee7 talks about food—pay attention and show some damn respect. The guy actually knows what he's talking about.

And regarding the snubbing🙄

Screw them, those donuts aren't any good, and neither are the donut holes. You open the wrapper and half the thing is just a pile of melted sugar at the bottom, while the top is just greasy sludge. And then there's all that oil.
I don't know if they pack them while they're still hot because of mass production or what, but honestly, who cares? 👎

A decent donut shouldn't leak grease everywhere if you squeeze it with your fingers.

coastalpanther11 said:2. Your "food cred" is totally shot after that post claiming the Sandwich Artist in Zapruđ is the best late-night spot. militi Bog ... One of my buddies—you wouldn't know him—had the fried cheese there and was dead certain it was chicken. 😁 Anyway, we all stopped eating there late at night after a nasty bout of food poisoning.

Their fried cheese is garbage, and I'm not even going to try to make excuses for it. 😠
Grilled chicken, cheese turnovers, and the location itself—those are the classics that never fail. 😍

By the way, that post was supposed to be inspiration for everyone to find more spots to hit up in the middle of the night 🙂, not an excuse for you guys to trash Zapruđ and tell me to head down to Key West or start emailing bread orders to Maui. 🙂

Is this some kind of hit list aimed at you or at Miami?☕

Carol Jackson45 said:warm donuts from the local bakery

😍 😍 🙏
Still, those donuts are filled with jam. So be it.

If you’re one of those hyper-local patriots, you’re honestly getting a bit radical, aren't you? You can't even bring yourself to say Chicago has mediocre donuts without immediately pivoting to talk about how great the burgers are in Miami. As if they're the best in the country or something. 🙂
Someone who only eats donuts doesn't get a say in my taste or anything else for that matter. 🙂

By the way, if you want actual good fast food, you have to hit that spot on the waterfront in a small town near the coast for their cheeseburgers. You wait about fifteen minutes while watching them grill the patty right in front of you. And man, you're hungry, and the thing is huge. 😲

Everything's gone downhill. This snow, this winter, all this garbage... it doesn't even deserve more than a single mention.

🤔 Anyway, was I saying—or am I just imagining it now?—what the best spots were to grab food in the middle of the night:

1. That sandwich shop out in the suburbs 🙏 which is perfect if you're planning on stumbling home drunk or just don't have a car handy.😍
2. Near the Lakers arena—there's that kebab place by 12, or the one closer to the streetcar stop after midnight.
3. A roadside Big Mac meal 4th penguin, obviously.
4. The local diner—mostly because they won't rob you blind.
5. Bonita and that spot just past the square, once you realize Hamby probably shut down around 9.

The highlights from my list in number 1:
1. Grilled chicken 🙏
2. That cheese pastry thing 🙂
3. Just a pile of meat inside a bun.

Ugh, please. Those Japanese loafers and those cheap little slip-ons... 🙄 They’re just pure hillbilly fashion. 🙂

Real men only respect a solid pair of sneakers, some heavy-duty snow boots for the winter, or maybe some rugged rubber flip-flops that can actually handle the salt. 🙂
