Why are you all obsessing over this friendship thing?

Davor Radolfi - Have you ever actually, truly loved a woman? 🙂
Ponor said:Honestly, I’m a little worried you might actually turn into one of those pathetic, distorted souls we’re talking about in your next few posts.😛

🙂

Ponor said:Look, man, just read what was actually written. Harrigan said he can't stand the people who play the "true fan" card when music is being discussed, and I was assuming he meant the types who obsess over Creep and act like the lyrics are their entire personality. I didn't go as far as calling them "TRUE NORDIC ARYAN" fans like you do, for instance.😁

Fair enough.😘

Anyway, am I some kind of grandmaster at quoting things or what?☕

gentlepuma20 said:It isn't you, but the people Harrigan is probably thinking of certainly are. And you're throwing Creep into the mix too, which, if you ask me, is one of the most irrelevant things to even bring up.

Why the sudden hostility toward the band's fanbase? 🙂
In your last post, you were making sweeping generalizations about everyone, but now you've suddenly pivoted to being somewhat moderate...

From what I've seen—and yeah, I’ll jump on the Creep hate bandwagon just for the hell of it—I haven't actually run into a single fan who ever even *mentions* that song. Let alone brings it up during those "greatest hits" type discussions we see everywhere..

gentlepuma20 said:It's because they're all just misunderstood, depressed, and totally overlooked. You know how it goes, right? Just a bunch of moody artists looking for sympathy.

And when it comes to Creep, obviously, only the true fans actually bother to listen to it. 👍>

My current top 5 candidates from George Orwell's Big Brother:
1. Hamdi
2. Matthew
3. Ren
4. Beatrice
5. Reality TV character

Mine:

1. Matthew from Monterey, a man who practically breathes sunshine and sea air!
2. That sensual blonde girl
3. Mama Beatrice—she’s actually triggering my maternal instincts, and I'm worried she won't fit in with the rest of them.
4. That blonde from the coast; she looks like the only one who actually showed up with 🙂 intention.

Anti:

1. Hamdi, mainly due to those valid suspicions regarding point number 3 (he's got great potential).
2. Ren, just a total nightmare. 🙂
3. Whoever it was that kept faking that high-pitched female voice last night.

And if it’s real American country? Well, then we're talking about a true legend, plain and simple.🙂

My name is Peter. What about you?
Thomas.
So, where am I living these days? Honestly, does it even matter anymore in a place like this? Not that I'm looking to move or anything—just wondering why anyone would bother asking.
8th Avenue.
So, you're curious about my age? Honestly, does it even matter anymore? In a world that feels like it’s spinning a little too fast every single day, I find myself wondering why we still bother with these kinds of labels. Are we trying to quantify experience, or just looking for a way to categorize people into neat little boxes? I suppose there's a certain futility in counting the years when life tends to blur together regardless of the number on your driver's license. But if you really need a number to pin on me, I'll give you one—though I can't promise it'll tell you much about who I actually am.
Ten.
I'm already eleven!

And here comes another one...

We are hungry, we are thirsty; where on earth is the cheese, and when are they finally going to bring out the sausage?

Awesome. 😁 😁 😁 😁 😁
I can still hear that "We congratulate! We congratulate!" echoing in my head.
It’s "Karen"—specifically, the way they pronounce the name in that very first lesson.

chrissy said:If we were actually going to build monuments to the people who changed our lives through food, which five inventions would truly earn that kind of immortality? I’ve been sitting here thinking about it, wondering if we even realize how much certain staples have shaped our entire existence. It’s almost absurd when you think about it, isn't it? First off, you have to talk about the humble frozen pizza. I mean, really, who hasn't been saved by a quick trip to the freezer aisle at Safeway after a brutal day at work? There’s a specific kind of genius in taking something that should be a culinary chore and turning it into a reliable, effortless staple that keeps an entire nation fed during late nights and busy weeks. Then there’s the sheer brilliance of the mass-produced hot dog. Think about it—it’s the ultimate American icon, something you find at every backyard BBQ from Chicago to Los Angeles. The person who figured out how to make that level of convenience and flavor accessible to everyone deserves more than just a thank you; they deserve a statue in the middle of a park somewhere. We also can't ignore the absolute game-changer that is instant coffee. Life moves fast in this country, doesn't it? We’re always rushing, always chasing the next thing, and having that ability to get a decent caffeine hit in seconds without needing a high-end espresso machine is nothing short of a miracle. Who wouldn't want to honor the person who mastered that kind of efficiency? Next up, I’d have to put ketchup on the list. It sounds silly, I know, but think about its ubiquity. It’s the universal condiment, the stuff that somehow makes everything from greasy burgers to salty fries taste just a little bit better. It’s practically a fundamental part of the American palate at this point. Finally, I think we have to give credit to the invention of the snack chip. Whether it's a classic potato chip or something more adventurous, that perfect crunch is addictive. There’s a certain science to it, a mastery of texture and salt that has turned snacking into a national pastime. Can you imagine a world without that satisfying snap? Probably not.

Is there anything more nostalgic than a bowl of chocolate cereal? I was thinking about that classic childhood staple, Čokolino, the kind of stuff that basically defined my mornings back in the day. It’s funny how those simple flavors stick with you, isn't it? Even now, looking back, it feels like such a specific, comforting slice of growing up.
Is there anything more predictably disappointing than waiting around for the second round of nougat? It’s almost like we knew it was coming, isn't it? You go through all that anticipation, only to find out the reality is just as lackluster as the first attempt. Honestly, why do we even bother expecting something different every single time?
3. smokers
Four pieces of gum. That’s really all there is to it, isn't it? Just four little sticks of gum, sitting there, staring back at you. You ever wonder why we even bother? Does anyone actually feel like they're getting their money's worth anymore, or are we all just chewing on nothingness while the world spins on?
So, number five on the list: ice cream. Honestly, does anyone actually look at the nutritional labels anymore, or have we all just collectively decided to stop caring about what we're putting into our bodies? I find myself staring at those frozen aisles in the grocery store, surrounded by a dozen different brands claiming to be "artisanal" or "locally sourced," and I can't help but wonder if it's all just clever marketing designed to make us feel better about a sugar crash waiting to happen. Is it really worth the hype? Probably not, but then again, when life feels this draining, who am I to argue with a pint of premium vanilla?

What are the top three foods that you just can't seem to put down? You know the ones—the kind where you take one bite, look down, and realize the entire bag or plate is already gone before you even had a chance to think about it. Is there actually any self-control involved, or are we all just victims of clever food engineering?

3. smoke
Is there anything more predictably disappointing than a bucket of mediocre popcorn? Honestly, I can't help but wonder why we even bother. It’s usually just overpriced, overly salted kernels that leave you feeling slightly greasy and deeply unsatisfied. Is it really worth the hype, or are we all just collectively pretending it’s a treat?
Those rubber bastards.

hollowangler68 said:I remember bringing them into school back in the day—somewhere around third grade—and they were all wrapped up in this colored paper meant to look like actual packs. One of my classmates saw me and just started losing it for half an hour, asking if I was out of my mind, why on earth would I be carrying cigarettes at that age. 😁

Does anyone else vividly remember those old German lessons from elementary school?

student: Who wants cigarettes (or something along those lines)
Mr. Miller:
Who has cigarettes?
student: gum cigarettes Mr. Miller!

Anyway, here are my top four funniest things about those middle school foreign language textbooks:

1. That endless loop of "I'm Sandy. This is Bill. My friend Bill. Hello!" and ten more variations just like it.
2. "They are drinking hot lemonade," right after someone takes a massive gulp.
3. The frantic "HURRY UP!" shouted by the woman on the cassette tape. 🙂
4. That obnoxious "PEEEEEEEEP" sound during the Listen and Repeat exercises.

The next move is to go grab some novels by Edo Popović—they're top-tier stuff—so I'll probably run down to the local newsstand to see if they still have $10 one last copy left.

Pepsi is the gold standard. Honestly, if a drunk person actually wants to sing along to them (or maybe just offer some moral support), then they're basically the most useful drunk person you could ask for.

The top four perks of hitting up summer concerts in Italy:

1. You don't actually have to fight through a mob just to get to the front row, because honestly, you can see everything perfectly fine from further back anyway.😁
2. There’s a pretty decent chance you’ll catch some Eros Ramazzotti playing on the local radio stations while you're driving around.
3. You basically get to tour an entire state in one go!
4. You can take a dip in the Italian sea and then—if you're feeling particularly cynical—spend the rest of the day complaining about how gross it is.

My top 3 absolute worst scenarios for a summer vacation:

1.
Rain and snow—just way too much water when you’re already dealing with enough humidity
2.
Heavy winds and gusts that turn your tent into a kite; it feels like the weather is dragging you straight into winter, and let me tell you, winter on the coast is 🙂
3.
The ocean during those "nice" days right after three days of brutal windstorms; it isn't technically the "weather," but it makes being near the water completely useless

Speaking of which, my top 2 worst summers at the beach:

1.
That one a few years back where we couldn't catch even three decent, sunny days with temperatures in the 80s or 90s
2.
This year, featuring a desperate evacuation back to Washington, D.C.
