Is life actually easier if you're good-looking? in Psychology ·
How do I judge another guy's looks? As a man, I guess my take is this:
To me, a guy is "good looking" if he isn't some kind of threat to the vibe when we're just hanging out.
Or maybe it's actually the opposite—maybe we perceive anyone who *is* a threat to the pack as more attractive,
just because they seem more dangerous or intense.
So, yeah, "attractive" people probably have an easier time if women are the ones making the calls.
Basically, I’ll leave the whole judging men's looks thing up to the ladies.
But what about a woman's beauty??😬 😲 🙄 😕

Here are two old sayings that pretty much back me up:
A friend of my friend is my friend, but a friend of my girlfriend? That's an enemy.
And once a man finds a woman who actually listens to him, he's already halfway in love.
Emotional Intelligence: A blessing or a curse? in Psychology ·
Does having high empathy automatically mean you've got high EQ too?
Or can someone be super empathetic but have zero emotional intelligence?
Also—quick question—can a psychopath actually be emotionally intelligent?
Like, personally, I feel like I’m an empathetic person, but my interpersonal EQ is basically non-existent.
I can feel what others are going through, but I'm always second-guessing myself—like, am I just misreading the situation cognitively?
For instance, if I sense fear in someone else, how am I supposed to know if they're actually feeling it too?
Are vegetarians actually smarter? in Psychology ·
Why do people—vegetarians in this case—try so hard to act all intellectual, yet they’re the first ones throwing shade at actual intelligence (just look at that poll over in the Quincy subforum)?😕

So—what's the actual point here... is it about being vegetarian or just looking smart?
If you want to go veggie, just do it—no need to pull the "intelligence" card.
And if you're just trying to act smarter than you actually are, do you really think eating plants is gonna help?
Are vegetarians actually smarter? in Psychology ·
Researchers at the University of Southampton found that smart kids are actually more likely to end up becoming vegetarians later in life.

And I guess the less bright ones will just... catch up eventually? lol
When does life actually begin? in Philosophy ·
To us, "life" only kicks off once we all decide it’s time to start.
But honestly? Whether we actually agree on that doesn't even matter.
I mean, once we've settled on what life is supposed to be—it’s not really about how we're gonna negotiate it from here on out.
Some people will say one thing, others will say another—fighting, clashing, warring—and in the end, it's just raw power that wins out.
While someone else watches it all unfold from way up high, pulling the strings, playing the game, and making sure everything lands exactly where it belongs...🙂
