Thanks a ton, man, everything makes way more sense to me now after that explanation👍 Basically, I'm looking at grabbing that GTX 1060 6GB as a solid long-term play, mostly just to hold me over until I can swing a beefier processor, which is definitely on my roadmap for down the line. It’s honestly not even a huge headache to offload this current motherboard and pick up something compatible with a Ryzen build whenever I'm ready to make that jump.😁 Really appreciate you walking me through this.👍
Samuel Castillo49, nesho095, and Timothy Kim60, thanks a ton for all the advice👍 I'm just waiting on a buddy of mine to swing by with his Professional model so I can see how it actually handles, though truth be told, I’ll probably just grab the Professional version on a subscription plan and flip it on eBay immediately. From what I’m seeing, people are moving them for around $2,300 or $2,400, but my buddy just snagged his for $2,500. I’ve got my eye on a new GPU, so we’ll see if I can move this Professional unit quickly enough to fund it. Honestly, I’ve already got a PlayStation 3 and a massive library of games, so I don't even really miss the PS4 that much. I put myself to the test by going cold turkey on it for about ten days, and yeah, life goes on without it. 😁 Look, I know I’m being a bit of a pain, but man, trying to hunt down even a GTX 1050 is a struggle lately, let alone a GTX 1060 6. Gaming is becoming one expensive hobby, and here I am, over 40 years old, getting more obsessed with gaming by the day. 😁 If I’m going to pull the trigger on a GTX 1060 6, I’m definitely going to need to upgrade my CPU to keep up. Does anyone know what actually works with this motherboard?
Adam Moore3 said:I mean, if we're just talking about Song or FIFA, then going with PlayStation is a total no-brainer. You get that 4K resolution, you grab your controller, sit back, and just lose yourself in the game. You aren't even thinking about the FPS or sweating over a 30 FPS cap. If you ask me, 🙂
My colleague is actually getting his hands on a PS4 Pro in a few days, so we’ll finally see how much of a difference it makes compared to the PS4 Slim. Hopefully, by then, I'll have made a smarter call myself😁 It would honestly be the dream setup to have both the Pro and a GTX 1060 6GB, but I know that's just not happening right now😵
Edited post😁 So, it’s really just about the Song and FIFA for me; everything else is kind of an afterthought. Honestly, my main priority is just getting this new GPU so I can actually relax and not worry about my rig dying on me for a while, which is why I'm low-key stressing that the GTX 1050 2 might end up being a total bust.😁
So, I’ve got this chance to snag a PS4 Pro through AT&T for about $25 a month. If I pull the trigger, my monthly bill is gonna be roughly $8.25 higher than what I'm paying now. Honestly, I’m torn—do I stick with the Pro, or should I just offload it for maybe $2,200 or $2,300 and put that cash toward a GTX 1050 Ti or even a decent 1060 6GB? Right now, my rig is running a Pentium G4560, 16GB of RAM, an R7 260X, and I'm hooked up to a 4K TV. Part of me is really leaning toward upgrading the PC rather than hanging onto the console. I’ve already lined up a buyer for my PS4 Slim for about $20, so I’ve gotta reinvest that money somewhere else. That leaves me with my Xbox 360 and my PC. What kind of performance am I actually looking at with my current setup paired with one of those two GPUs compared to the PS4 Pro? It feels like every time I try to upgrade my graphics card, I end up just adding more consoles to the pile😁
I mostly play stuff like Madden and FIFA, though I jump into other games every now and then. Saving up for a solid GPU takes forever, so this deal feels like a pretty sweet way to make the transition😁
Larry Ortiz5 said:I haven't even had a chance to jump in and play yet, let alone try anything in 4K—forget about it, I'm nowhere near 1080p 😁
Honestly, I'm currently scraping my pennies together for a 1050 Ti, and if I pair that with a G4560 and 16 GB of RAM, it should handle 4K just fine. At least, that’s what I’ve gathered from watching some clips on >. I'm talking specifically about stuff like PES and FIFA. Anyway, once you finally get around to playing, please hit me up with your thoughts on how the PES 18 themes look! Right now, I'm stuck grinding away at 1080p and a measly 30 fps, which honestly sucks because I’d love to see how the game performs on a rig like yours. If I can just save up enough for an i5 and a 1070, PES 2021 will probably be out by then anyway.😁
Stealing this thread for a second, if you don't mind"😁 So, I’ve got my standard wired Xbox controller hooked up for PC gaming, but I also have this wireless one from back in the day that goes with the Xbox 360. Is there any way I can actually get that wireless unit working on my PC? Honestly, now that I've hit that 40+ milestone, I find myself wanting to play games lying down more often than not—and let me tell you, trying to stay comfortable with a wired controller is basically impossible at this point.😁
Larry Ortiz5 said:Yeah, I'm actually grabbing PES 2018 right now too—the CPY version—and I'm dying to see how it handles on my setup with an i5 4670k and a GTX 1070.
fadedorca66 said:Well, hey, at least you got something sorted out. $267 I mean, yeah, for a used card, that's a pretty steep price, so I’d honestly say just save up a little longer and grab a 1050Ti instead...
Man, thanks a ton, because now everything is actually playable and I'm having a blast in the sand👍 I even tried cranking it up to 4K just to see if my eyes would melt, and I gotta admit, it looks killer. Fingers crossed that once I snag that 1050Ti, I can push all those settings even higher. For most other games, I don't really care that much about the bells and whistles. Cheers!👍
fadedorca66👍 That annoying little stutter finally died out once I toggled on Game Mode—before that, I’d also messed with some "deep color" settings, and honestly, after tweaking those, everything feels smooth again. It is pretty wild, though, how when I run it in windowed mode, the counter just sits stubbornly at 30 fps regardless of whether I'm at 720p, 1080p, or even 2K, or if my settings are on low, medium, or high, even though I explicitly tell it I want 60 fps. The second I switched over to full screen at 720p, the frame rate jumped up to 50 fps. Right now, running at 1080p on high settings while stuck at 30 fps is actually playable enough, so I think I'll just roll with that until I can snag a GTX 1050 Ti. That’s really my ceiling for what I want to spend on a GPU. If I get a chance to test out an old Radeon 7870 or an R9 280, I might grab one of those if there's a massive jump in performance, but this current card definitely has to go. Anyway, sorry for rambling on and taking up all your time👍 I was using Fraps to track the fps.
Honestly, I’m really not feeling that 280 right now because none of them come with a warranty, and if I’m being real, $267 it probably makes more sense to just suck it up and save my cash for a 1050ti. When I drop the settings on the FIFA 18 demo, the lag pretty much disappears, but with PES 18? Man, no matter what I tweak, I can still feel that stuttering. It might just be the way PES is coded, honestly. I already went through the whole hassle of reinstalling Windows and nuking everything I could find to clean things up, but the issue is still there. My next move is to completely wipe the graphics drivers and try a fresh install. That 7870 seems like a decent deal though, so I think I'll hit up the guy and see if he'll let me test it out first. Just so you know, I play PES 18 offline—it's the original game.
I just watched that video, and it's tripping me out because if that 750ti is anything like mine, I’m stuck playing at 720p on medium settings and still getting a choppy 30 fps. The only way this works for me is if I can talk that guy down on the price for the 280 and maybe see if he'll let me pay in installments.😁
So, I'm rocking a Pentium G4560, 16 GB of RAM at 2400MHz (2x8 GB sticks), an R7 260X, and a 120 GB SSD. I was actually hunting around here for GPU recommendations a while back, but every time I pulled the trigger to order something, the shops would hit me up saying they were out of stock. You know how it is—everything went haywire because of those crypto miners and all that nonsense. So, instead, I just picked up a PS4 and an Xbox 360 and had a blast for a while😁. But now, I’ve jumped into PES 2018 on PC, and it is absolutely killing me that I can't crank up the resolution or the details to 1920/1080. Same deal with FIFA; I could handle it fine on the '17 version, but this one is way more demanding, and my graphics card hasn't changed. I started putting money aside for a GTX 1050 Ti, but honestly, I'm thinking about grabbing something cheaper for now until I can afford the "real" upgrade. It's driving me nuts because PES has never looked better, yet I can't even get it to run at 720p with low settings without hitting this super irritating lag😵. I can find a 7870 $133, an R9 270 $183, or even an R9 280 $267 locally. I might be able to haggle the price down a bit, but I'm really wondering if any of these would actually be a noticeable step up from my current R7 260X. Also, my PC keeps throwing some weird error whenever I reboot, though everything else seems to be running okay. Man, I wish PES was still a mediocre game, but this version is easily the best soccer sim I've played, so it's hard to just sit here waiting to save up that extra $400 when I'm dying to play. I'm mostly looking at two options right now: a Sapphire 7870 or an xfx R9 270. I've spent plenty of time gaming on $40 budget rigs in the past, so I truly value any advice you guys have—just please don't tell me to stop playing altogether😵😁
fadedorca66 said:Wait, what store is this? I need to run out and grab one right now!
Man, you absolutely have to go for the 6GB version—the price gap is honestly negligible at this point. It’s not even just about having more VRAM; the chip on the 6GB 1060 is actually beefier, making the whole card way more capable overall.
It's their last one in stock, which is why they'd drop it from $2500 down to $2000. The deal looks something like this... https://www.bestbuy.com/art/gra...6gb-dual/74844 Does that PayPal look legit to you?😁 If I end up missing out on this because I hesitated, Tim Cook, I'm sending you the address and phone number of the shop immediately. I've shopped with these guys before.
So, my local Best Buy has this 1060 6GB sitting there, and the price used to be around $240, but now they’ve marked it down to $200. Some kind of flash sale or whatever. 😁 I’ve shopped there before and they're legit, so I trust them. Does that sound like a decent deal to you guys? Right now, the 3GB version is hovering around $600($17.80). At least, that's what I managed to find online. If I were picking up a card today, I’d definitely want the 6GB model for about $20 extra over the 3GB one.
Thanks for all the tips👍 I’m gonna head back out today and see what else I can dig up, so I might even throw into the mix. $33 Or, like Nesho says, I just need to chill out and be patient for a bit. I'll do some more digging later on once I find where the good stuff is hiding👍
I’ve been hitting people up, sending messages, making calls—and honestly, from what I can gather since getting here, everyone keeps telling me to just wait another week or so. I’ve spotted a few interesting listings on Craigslist, but man, it kind of kills my vibe to drop that much cash when there's a high chance I'm just getting scammed.
Everything looks brand new, and we're talking anywhere from $1,800 to $1,900.
Hey everyone, Thanks so much for your online order. Unfortunately, the item you're looking for isn't currently in stock with our distributor, so we won't be able to get it in for you. Because of that, we've had to cancel your order, and nothing will be shipped out. Best regards, Sales Rep Description: centro_sig
Man, I really need to go hunt down where else I can find one for $567. My budget is pretty much tapped out at that price point, and since I'm currently running without a GPU, I'm getting seriously impatient here.😁 I'm looking at CNN right now and seeing a ton of graphics around that price range, but this specific item is totally out of stock! https://postimg.org/image/4jtka1ebn/
So, I somehow ended up with some unexpected cash sitting in my account, which means I’m definitely not settling for anything less than a $567 when it comes to picking out a card—this is going to be such a massive win for me. I'll be sure to get everything registered once the actually shows up, and honestly, having that 5-year warranty sounds like an absolute dream. I'm gonna try to knock out the order right now using my phone 👍
👍 Edit: Alright, the order is officially placed! It says shipping should take about 3 to 5 days, and the total came to $1740 including delivery. Thanks for all the help, everyone. I'll definitely post some photos once it arrives 👍
