My bad for going off-topic 🙂

Target carries models like that too. They're longer and they have larger sizes available.

I usually just grab basic household stuff at Target, but I was actually surprised by the selection of tops today. The patterns and cuts aren't terrible at all. There are some really decent pieces.

Carl Walker79, post those photos.

Look, since it doesn't have the original tags anymore—no offense intended—there’s no way to know if you’ve worn it or not. You have every right to sell it for what you paid, but I’m just being honest: I wouldn't pay that much.

About 95% of people will just laugh at a curvy woman in leggings. But if she wears some hideous outfit that doesn't fit her or look good—then they won't say a word. That's the problem. If you can't find peace with how you look, you'll never feel confident.

Everyone should dress according to what actually works for their body. That’s my motto. And I’m not just talking about us plus-sized women who shouldn't be wearing combinations like the one pictured. It applies to everyone. Like those thin women wearing corsets that make them look completely flat, or girls wearing low-rise jeans showing off a tummy when they aren't even heavy. Why bother? It's simple—it doesn't just look better for the people watching, but those women should realize they look much better this way too.

Hahaha, too true! Or high heels paired with a mini skirt... oh man, I can't even...

Man, I envy you. I can barely handle these temperatures right now, so imagine how I’ll feel once summer actually hits. A few years ago, I used to struggle so much. I wouldn't even dream of stepping outside in shorts. Now? I don't care. I'm out here in knee-length stuff and feeling fine. I still won't touch sleeveless tops, but I'll wear short sleeves and deeper necklines. Honestly, I think the heat would kill me if I tried to stay covered up. My vanity just isn't worth the misery of melting. That's just how it is.

"Fuller" women—if you don't necessarily need everything to be brand new, there’s a little something in my signature...

At C&A, you just find someone like $17 🤷.
Movie Review: "Projections in Movies ·
After this absolute disaster, I decided to give yet another loud-mouthed American movie a second chance. I actually sat down to watch it because some TV "critics" were raving about it, quoting, "it's definitely worth a watch."

Well—it isn't.

During the first third, I felt physically nauseous. They filmed it using this handheld style where the camera acts as the eyes of one of the actresses. So, whenever she moves from a chair to the stairs, the frame jerks and spins everywhere. It’s dizzying. At one point, I actually had to stop watching because I felt sick.

The plot: what is even happening here? 🤷 That question hangs over your head the entire time.

It is boring to death.

The only redeeming quality is the costume design. Regardless of the fact that the actresses are older—some more weathered than others, some fuller, some thinner—they were dressed incredibly well. 👍 I especially loved Jane Doe's entire look, though she was great in this film regardless.

Bottom line: the acting isn't the problem, the movie itself is just bad and tedious.

P.S. Just like on the Master forums or at the local indie screenings, I was the only person in the theater.

I love talking to people who are actually pleasant to be around. If someone is gorgeous but has absolutely nothing going on upstairs, I'm just not interested.

Exactly what I was saying...

From what I can see, beautiful women stay that way for life. People always tend to give them a pass, whether they're younger or older. It doesn't matter.

I can take comfort in one thing—at least I don't have to worry about my beauty fading as I age. I only have to deal with getting old.🤣.

I’m starting this thread because I’ve been dealing with this a lot lately, so...

Yeah, it’s definitely easier for them. It’s obvious. If an attractive guy or girl does something, everyone thinks it’s cute or charming. If they mess up, nobody cares. But if someone who isn't conventionally good-looking—let's just say they're less attractive—does the exact same thing, people are quick to judge or mock them. It's always the opposite.

Maybe beautiful people face less scrutiny in the corporate world, but in their private lives? People let them get away with anything. They could do the absolute dumbest thing imaginable and people will just overlook it.

And yeah, I'll admit it. I'm jealous.

George Chavez8 said:The only real flaw in this movie is Jennifer Garner. Seriously. It goes from being an absolute epic masterpiece to feeling like some cheesy romantic comedy for a few seconds there. The movie pulls you in so deep, and then she just totally "tilts" the vibe every time she's on screen. Such a bummer. It was just bad casting—she definitely doesn't have the heavy-hitting charisma needed for a role this intense.

I heard Halle Berry actually turned it down (which isn't perfect either, but she would’ve been way better here).
Matthew McConaughey—hands down one of the best performances of the last 20 years. Honestly, he belongs right up there with the all-time greats. It’s wild to think it's the same guy; his talent is just insane. It really makes you wonder how many incredible actors are still hiding out because they'd rather take those mindless, cookie-cutter roles just to chase a paycheck and some quick fame. Some of the stuff McConaughey pulled off here, especially in the first half, was nothing short of a miracle. Pure magic.
Jared Leto—same deal. He killed it too.

Personally, I think she would have been a terrible choice—and I'm not even sure if those rumors are true. If you look up "the real doctor" online, JG looks a lot more like her. I don't see how HB fits that look at all. Plus, to me, that woman seems overrated in every way, from her acting to her looks.

It's not that JG was a perfect pick; they could have done better, but she didn't ruin anything for me.

A-ha, so it turns out... well, either way, the movie is absolutely fantastic, no question about it. As for the character himself—which is a totally separate issue from how good the film is—I can't help but wonder if his efforts to help people by recommending things like aloe or vitamins were purely driven by profit, or if he genuinely wanted to help (or, my guess is, both). Plus, some of the details regarding the disease itself feel inaccurate based on what we know today. I assume the screenwriter just stuck to the medical understanding available at the time the story takes place.

I also loved the movie. Those Oscars were totally deserved.

I haven't read the other posts yet—admittedly, I’m a bit embarrassed about that—but can someone set me straight? Is this film actually based on a true story? Personally, I don't think so (even though they include that typical disclaimer at the end of movies based on true events about when someone passed away). My companion insists it is, so... before I dive into my thoughts on the characters, I really need to know.

Why didn't I see this thread before I went and dropped money at AMC Theatres yesterday? 😵

That movie was absolute garbage. I was literally fighting to stay awake because it was so boring...

I think this dress is beautiful, but those two "shirts/tunics" are just awful. They look totally old lady.

I read all the posts, but it was afternoon, so I can't be 100% sure what I remember.

1. OP, you’ve apologized for your job several times now—stop doing that. Why? Because people think your work is easy? Or because they think only those who perform manual labor deserve a paycheck? Not every job requires breaking your back. Still, your role comes with its own set of responsibilities. You have zero reason to feel guilty just because you aren't digging trenches.
2. Some kind of group protest against this person—I need to remind myself if she's actually your superior or not—won't work. People are too fearful these days. No one is going to step up for you, or maybe only one person will, and that isn't enough. Seriously, drop any idea about organized resistance against her.
3. How much does your job depend on her? Meaning, could she actually get you fired if she wanted to? Regardless of your answer, my conclusion is the same: if she wants you gone, she will make it happen whether you fight back or not, simply because you bother her. Even if your job isn't tied to her directly, she still won't like you.
4. When relationships turn toxic, you have to leave. They don't fix themselves. NEVER. Now, I would normally suggest finding a new job, but I won't—because you'll find someone just like her everywhere else. If you generally like your job, stay put.

The bottom line? Try to let her know, as much as possible, that she can't push you around. And if you can, do it privately. I can't give you a specific script, but whatever you do, do not embarrass her in front of others. Try to spot a mistake in her work and point it out to her—again, strictly one-on-one. Essentially, you need to show her that her attempts at blackmail won't work. Let her know you are "strong" and willing to use that strength if necessary. Once she realizes that, she might stop making waves.

I don't know if I actually helped. I suspect I didn't, hm?
