It feels like nobody ever gives credit to the specialists who basically just manage field position all day. You can have the flashiest quarterbacks in the world, but if the kicking game is trash, the whole season feels uphill. Someone once told me back when I was moderating that even the most level-headed people on a forum can be easily baited by one single troll.
I ended up telling him not to waste his breath and to just put that person in his public ignore list right there in his signature.

It actually worked, because it freed up that decent user to spend more time having actual, meaningful conversations.

On one hand, putting an ignore list in your signature might look like you've lost control, but I’d much rather admit defeat than blow my afternoon arguing with hyperactive jerks.

Having some points on your record without an actual change in account status wouldn't have messed with your signature.

If someone gets hit with a ban, I’m pretty sure their signature gets wiped out automatically as well.

I can't say for certain, but that might be one way to look at how the system handles it.

Honestly, the amount of time that passed between me posting my initial message and getting slapped with a ban is just fascinating to me.
If I were feeling even slightly paranoid, I’d start thinking I was being watched under a microscope by 😬

You shouldn't be handing out bans and deleting content in the exact same breath.
I find myself editing my own posts all the time—mostly because, let's face it, I make typos and I change my mind pretty fast.
If I had that window, I probably would have caught my own mistake and fixed the text myself.

All in all, this feels like some incredibly biased moderation.

Back in the day, I wasn't afraid to call out my friends and shut them down when they actually deserved it.

Exactly! Though, if you ask me, I’d really drive home the importance of ventilation. I’d even go as far as making it mandatory for places to use ionizers or high-end air purifiers equipped with UV filters.

Look, it doesn't have to be an "all or nothing" situation where you just let things get overcrowded. You can simply cap the number of passengers allowed on a vehicle at one time.

It’s the exact same logic we use for capacity limits in retail stores here in the States.
