Finally, someone makes sense... Honestly, Windows 7 runs perfectly fine for me on just 512 MB of RAM, and games like Half-Life 2 Episode Two run flawlessly without any stuttering at all.

If Windows 7 is stuttering for you people with 2 GB of RAM, then you clearly don't know how to configure it. Everything runs perfectly fine for me on just 512 MB of RAM, and frankly, I couldn't care less whether you believe me or not.☕

Don't bother buying more RAM. I've run both Windows Vista and Windows 7 on a measly 512 MB of DDR1 RAM, and it worked like a charm—everything was smooth. It all comes down to how you configure your operating system. Don't waste your money on extra RAM when you don't actually need it; those settings exist for a reason. Ignore anyone telling you that you need an upgrade—that's just nonsense. If I could get everything running perfectly on 512 MB of ancient DDR1 while having multiple things active, you definitely can too.☕

I haven't spent much time digging into Windows Vista—but I do know it looked exactly like that back when I was running the Windows 7 betas. They probably tweaked things a bit for the final release...

But if you ask me, just buy a single DVD that includes every version of Windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit and call it a day.👍

If you're looking to rip some music straight from a website, the easiest way is to just record your desktop—basically capturing everything happening on your screen. You can pull this off using a program called "BB Flash Back Recorder." Once you're done recording, it saves as an FBR file, which you can then convert right within the software into Windows Media Video, AVI, FLASH, or even an EXE. It’s a great workaround for grabbing videos that websites try to block from being downloaded.😁
If you're specifically after audio, just convert that FBR into an AVI, and then use a simple tool like VirtualDub to turn that AVI into a WAV.
It sounds like a massive headache, I know—it's enough to drive anyone crazy. But with BB Flash Back Recorder, you can snag any song or video from any site if they won't let you download it directly.

Hmm, that’s strange. On my Windows 7, the clock was right there—took about an hour to find it. Maybe they changed things in this latest version, because in the BETA 7000, it was definitely there. Only thing is, it wasn't on the first tab, but the third one. My mistake on that.😁
Basically, here is how it looked on my Windows 7. I would right-click the taskbar—you know, the superbar—then hit PROPERTIES, and under the third tab, I had the option to turn the clock on. The setting was simply labeled "Clock." This is exactly how it appeared for me:

Just right-click the taskbar, go to PROPERTIES, then on the first tab just check the box that says "Show the clock"—or whatever the exact wording is—hit APPLY, then OK.

The RTM version is being pushed to market now because it’s supposedly stable enough—as if it were actually finished. Personally, if I were in your shoes, I'd rather just wait a little longer...

Yeah, the Windows 7 RTM is out and available for purchase, BUT IT ISN'T FINISHED YET. A truly complete version of Windows 7 will most likely drop on October 22, 2009.
The difference is that 32-bit operating systems support up to 4 GB of RAM, whereas 64-bit systems can handle up to 128 GB—which is only useful IF you're running programs or games that actually demand that much, which is EXTREMELY RARE. Also, 64-bit OSs are great if you want to play the latest titles at top graphics settings using DirectX 11.0, but you'd need a high-end rig for that—which you clearly don't have. Especially regarding the GPU; you didn't even mention how many MB and MHz your graphics card has...
Give us your FULL specs, not just the RAM and GHz...
Basically...with 2 GB of RAM and 2.19 GHz, I would strictly advise you to install a 32-bit operating system.
One more thing. Why are you trying to install Windows 7? It isn't even fully finished yet... If I were in your shoes, I'd go with 32-bit Windows XP Professional with service pack 3 (SP3) and everything would run perfectly. Unless you absolutely insist on using DirectX 10 or even 11, then go ahead and install Windows 7, but otherwise, I recommend 32-bit XP Professional with SP3. But like I said—Windows 7 isn't ready...
Try Windows Vista Ultimate with SP1 and SP2. They ran flawlessly on my potato PC, which only had 1 GHz, 512 MB of RAM, and a 64 MB graphics card...
My advice is to NEVER use an unfinished operating system. Stick with XP Professional with SP1, SP2, and SP3, or Vista Ultimate with SP1 and SP2; as for Windows 7, just wait a little longer until they're done.
But again... it's your choice.😁
