Actually, the card is an Nvidia GeForce GT series
Hi there,

First off, here is my current setup:
AMD A8-5600K
ASRock FM2A75M-DGS
4 GB DDR3 1600 MHz
Nvidia GeForce GTX series

My first question concerns memory. I currently have 4 GB of RAM. I wouldn't call myself a hardcore gamer; I mostly stick to Counter-Strike, with the occasional session of DayZ. Given that, would I see any real improvement if I added another 4 GB, or is 4 GB sufficient for what I do?

The second question involves dual-channel graphics. This processor features integrated graphics that can run in dual-channel mode alongside an Nvidia GeForce GT series card, which I also happen to own. However, right now, I am using the Nvidia GeForce GTX series card. So, the question is: when would I see better performance—sticking with the Nvidia GeForce GTX series card, which doesn't support dual-channel, or swapping it out for the Nvidia GeForce GT series card to enable that dual-channel mode?

I hope I haven't made this too complicated and that my reasoning is clear.

Thanks in advance for any insight you can provide.

In the end, we actually stumbled upon a solution that didn't occur to me right away: I pulled the HD 6670 out of my own rig and handed it off to my brother (his 4850HD finally kicked the bucket). It’s working just fine for me now using this integrated 🙂. Regardless, thanks for all the advice.

I’m looking for something that hits these same performance benchmarks, ideally at the most budget-friendly price point possible.

Hi there,

My NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT finally gave up the ghost after about four or five years of solid service. I’m looking for something to step into its shoes—maybe something just a hair better than what I had. To be honest, I haven't really kept up with hardware specs lately, so I'm a bit out of the loop. What would be a decent, modern replacement? I'm based in Washington, D.C., have the cash ready, and am happy to shop at any local retailer. Thanks.
Where can I pick up a bulk pack of, say, 50 disposable lighters? Buying them at local grocery stores usually means paying $7-$$2.75 a piece, which feels like a bit much. I'm looking for something more reasonable—maybe 50 to 100 of those standard, basic lighters at a decent price.
You aren't the only one who messed up 😁

I took a decent swig of gasoline myself once and didn't feel a thing. Honestly, I think gas is a bit more aggressive than diesel, so don't sweat it too much! You just gave your throat a little seasoning—now just get back on the road and drive. 😁

Maybe check out some of those boutique bookstores downtown in New York City.
Where can I track down some massive, absolutely oversized plush toys?
Where can I pick up a decent yoyo around here?
I saw some bags of ice up for sale over at the Tifon pumps.
