This isn't just about whether we agree or disagree on the facts. Personally, I find myself questioning and disputing about 99% of what's posted on there, yet I still find the content worth reading. What truly grates on my nerves is how every single thread eventually devolves into endless debates about 2012 or Nibiru. It’s getting incredibly tiresome. I didn't even want to bring up chemtrails; honestly, discussing that feels just as futile as rehashing Nibiru or anything Isaac is peddling. I simply didn't have the energy for it.
I honestly don't see the point in starting new threads on Reddit, Quora, or even Yelp. People over there are just itching to tear apart whoever starts a conversation. Suddenly, everyone is a licensed psychologist, a seasoned expert on life, or some hyper-liberal 🙂 . The question was rhetorical; if you hadn't asked, the next person would have surely said something similar. That’s why I usually steer clear of those subreddits. If someone is looking for help and I've been through something similar, I’ll try to offer advice instead of just attacking the person asking. If I haven't lived it, I won't comment. I understand "well-intentioned" advice, but this attitude of "I took a five-minute IQ test online and now I'm a genius, so let me lecture everyone" is beyond me. I wasn't calling you out, quietstag11, this is just my observation regarding the crowd on those forums.
Why is this even being discussed on the Alternative board? This "pastor" figure—who, let’s be honest, barely leads a congregation of fifty people 🙄—isn't some unique provocateur. He's just another face in the crowd. What does this actually have to do with the Alternative section? Modern media outlets thrive on sensationalism; they'll take any tiny spark and turn it into a forest fire just to drive clicks. I don't see a conspiracy here, so I fail to understand why this hasn't been moved to a more appropriate subforum. On a separate note, I do agree that the board needs more moderators. People are drifting off-topic far too often.
