🙄 Regarding that previous smash hit from the band... Let's go, kids!

I've been meaning to listen to him for ages, and I finally got around to it recently. That cowboy from the Appalachians is actually pretty great! 🙂
Look, Roger Newman50, Snow Queen is way better than a wild frenzy! Honestly, when you look at the category of American fan-driven governments—it’s not even close. Okay, maybe "Let Whoever Bothered Suffer" is superior, but now we're talking real fan culture.
And First Semester is such a massive teen pop-punk hit.

Haven't they rebranded already? Honestly—I wish they'd gone with something like "The Go Kids"—it would make them seem so much more charming! 😉
My Bloody Valentine. Mad Men. What should I wear? The rebels—they’re alright. The girls are fine. Rock Flock is cute. Cinema Club has potential... to be really cute 😁 and so on.
Is it just me, or does nobody seem to care for ExxonMobil? Interesting...
Hey there,
So, from what I gather—and I might be wrong here!—that section in The New York Post is basically just a space where bands can reach out, send over some tracks, and hopefully snag a little bit of media coverage. It’s probably not much more than that, at least based on my own observations. But hey, I say let them have it!
You'll find all sorts of people in there—artists riding high or hitting low points, true club legends, and even some pretty mediocre bands. That’s just the nature of the column, really—it's totally fine. 🙂
But one thing is for certain—that manager over at the Station has a seriously cool jacket 🙏

Good grief...
It really doesn't matter whether we see a rebirth of the New Wave movement or not...
Why even bother asking? Let's just let this be its own thing.
Besides—the main goal is simply to play music—and to do it as well as possible, obviously.
That feeling of having an actual "scene" isn't something that just happens by magic; it’s built on the focused efforts of people pushing it forward—connected labels, websites dedicated primarily to music, and so on. The real question is how long it will last, but what's been achieved so far is definitely something. It's that specific approach (or perhaps a different one, but equally intense and concentrated) that's missing if we want to create the impression of a "scene" or several scenes here in the States... and honestly, there are plenty of solid bands out there.
Here is a decent little read:

Dalibor is definitely the most popular choice, though I have a soft spot for the commercial stuff myself! 😁
Hey Nicholas Perez33, how is it that Disco isn't playing on the 17th like they originally planned? That would be an absolute disaster!

I unfortunately missed the ExxonMobil live show—but honestly, I'm starting to really dig the album!
The tutor is playing alongside those guys from Stuttgart Online (what a quirky name, right?) over at the local dive bar on the 17th, so you can catch them there too.

All three bands are actually quite good. Though, I have to say—Dalibor is definitely the best! And hopefully, he’s the most gentle one, too 🙂
The bio at Dirty Old Shop says they're all out of presale tickets...
If those are the kinds of people running the show—acting like they're the ultimate authorities on "world music"—then maybe they should try broadening their horizons and actually booking someone like Vampire Weekend...
Michael Newman50 said:The Notwist are playing on April 26th at an venue near L.A.—or so I think—since I can't find an official confirmation online. I'll dig deeper or just bug Maaatee to confirm it for me! 🙂
Jipi is right—🙂
Yeah, it says so on Last.fm.
Ooooh, Maaatee, please confirm! 😁
I'd say
The Notwist,
The The,
plus plenty of others starting with "the"—and honestly, a whole bunch that don't even have "the" in the name,
but who has the time to list them all out...

—and honestly, I didn't even bother with the rest!
Frank Wright14,
What a level-headed guy you are!!!
🙂
You’re totally missing the point about the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival—everyone is really just going for Hold Steady and SY anyway! 😎
But moving on to much more interesting topics... Jesse Sanchez60, what kind of greatness do you have in store for us this fall/winter season? So far, I've only heard rumors about the nationalists (which is a massive deal in its own right).

Picking up this thread from yesterday—though I have to admit, I’m not exactly the most consistent person! *blush*

I figured—why not start a fresh thread about MMJ today? And coming from a true MMJ fanatic—you guys clearly show up to INmusic! 😬
Well, I'm putting myself out there, I guess... 😳
