slyheron13 said:How can you possibly justify such a chaotic setup? It is nothing short of a disaster. You have cables snaking out in every direction like unmanaged wiring in an old basement, a cooling fan protruding awkwardly from the chassis, and even the optical drive sits half-exposed. To make matters worse, that neon lighting is practically blinding; it’s enough to give anyone a headache while they're trying to focus on their work at the desk.

What exactly did you do to the case?

Honestly, you should be grateful to even have access to something like this. It isn't some high-end studio setup; it’s just a standard smartphone camera, for heaven's sake—I don't have anything better to work with at the moment. The cables are more or less all hooked up properly, so there really is no reason for you to keep complaining unless you're simply looking for someone to blame.
Once I have completed further iterations of the body paint work, only then will the matter be truly settled.

The mask has been removed. ☕

Correction: I just recalled that you previously had the tower resting directly on top of the power supply.
I see you’ve flipped the orientation and installed two fans.
It would be far more prudent to maintain a gap of at least one unit between the towers.

To be perfectly honest, Edward Peterson70 isn't exactly a miracle worker here; the temperature difference when positioned between the towers is a mere 0.5 to 1 degree Celsius. While that might seem negligible, the current setup is perfectly adequate, especially since I have full control over the exhaust settings. Given that I’ve paired every single intake fan with a corresponding exhaust fan, this configuration serves both the CPU's needs and my own preferences quite effectively. 😁!

I am attaching an image here to illustrate the temperature readings recorded above.

Well, I suppose you don't really belong over at the PC Modding forums if all you care about is what's happening under the hood 😁 haha, just kidding—for me, both aesthetics and internals are equally vital!

Anyway, this case is waiting for a little custom bodywork in a few days. A buddy of mine specializes in that kind of thing, so I should be getting a pretty sweet deal on it, free of charge :rolf:

I have implemented several modifications to the chassis, so please review my progress here:

I find myself in complete agreement... I am standing firmly behind everything Joseph Carter9 just said.😁

How on earth did you manage to crack the acrylic? It seems nobody bothered to inform you that one doesn't simply attack a sheet like that with a standard drill bit. You really ought to be using specialized bits designed specifically for plastic or acrylic. To be perfectly honest, I have drilled countless holes 😁 through acrylic, and not once has it resulted in a fracture or a split!

Good grief... while I appreciate the effort and the enthusiasm, you need some practical guidance. Here is my advice: "Stop over-tightening the vent so aggressively, and stick exclusively to plastic-rated drill bits." Furthermore, exercise much more caution and proceed with a sense of deliberation.

I would advise against using block rivets, as they are quite cumbersome to work with. If you do, you run the very real risk of repeating this exact same blunder. 👍😁

It’s finally over... the wait is finished! I can finally breathe now that I have high-speed broadband installed.
I suppose I should probably just come out and say it; I didn't want to face the inevitable onslaught of criticism if I had kept this little secret to myself for too long. So, here it is, laid bare for all to see:

Go ahead, feast your eyes on it... I know you're all staring in envy.😁😁

The ambient temperature in the room was hovering right around freezing, maybe 32 to 35°F at most. I believe the processor clock speed was sitting somewhere near 3800 MHz—though don't quote me on the exact figure—and I was running a standard stock cooler. You can clearly see from the readout that it was idling at about 86°F. It had been running for maybe twenty minutes when I happened to glance over at Everest, and honestly, it was like looking straight into the sun.
To be perfectly candid, even I found the results difficult to wrap my head around, but I suppose a picture is worth a thousand words. 😁😁

Here is something to give you all pause...
Is this even remotely plausible?
Take a look:

To be clear, this originated from an online forum about two months ago, but it slipped my mind to share it until now.

I have intentionally provided the full screenshot to ensure there is no suspicion that I have tampered with or doctored the image in any way.

Much appreciated... once I get that second power supply installed, I will check back in. I plan to post some photos along with a detailed breakdown so that anyone else considering this route can feel completely confident in their decision. Talk soon!
Thanks again...😁😁🙂

Greetings, I have a specific inquiry regarding a hardware configuration...
I find myself both needing and desiring to integrate an additional power supply unit into my current desktop setup. Roughly a year ago, I recall seeing a schematic detailing how to synchronize two separate power supplies to run off a single motherboard—essentially ensuring they trigger simultaneously upon startup. While I remember the concept of bridging certain wires together, the exact technical specifics have escaped me.
Consequently, if anyone happens to possess this particular diagram, I would be most grateful if you could provide the Links!!!
Many thanks!!?!🙂🙂

Thomas Gray, it is quite orderly and perfectly positioned, much like my own setup!!!😁😁😁

Regarding the noise levels, the current readings are hovering around 11-13dB at roughly 800 RPM, assuming we are looking strictly at airflow. If one applies any semblance of logic, the performance should be relatively consistent across any standard 12cm fan; I find it hard to believe there would be a discrepancy greater than perhaps 15% when running at identical speeds. Of course, the specific geometry of the blade design will certainly play a role, but fundamentally, that is how the physics should shake out. 👍

It is quite amusing... if that light truly bothers you to such an extent, then simply braid the wires together. I fail to see why you wouldn't just handle it yourself, especially since you claim the illumination isn't even important to you in the first place! It is a simple enough fix, is it not?

Were you using a 120mm LED unit on that ThermalTake case? Personally, I have one right now, and calling it a "fan" is an insult—it’s more like a jet turbine in terms of both airflow and sheer racket.
To be clear, when it's just sitting on my desk, it’s relatively quiet, but once I actually mount it into the chassis, the noise level becomes absolutely obnoxious.

YES, there is nothing strange about that observation... haha. I am telling you, when you actually measure the decibel difference between these units, the gap is significant—up to 4 or 5 dB. With my current setup, the CPU stays cool while the fan spins at roughly 900 RPM at a mere 12-14 dB, whereas the other unit hits over 18 dB even at a lower speed of about 1000 RPM. There is a very real, measurable difference in how loud they are!

Look, here is my recommendation... I currently have three of these units installed in my rig, and I can tell you from experience that I am more than satisfied with them.

I used to run a ThermalTake setup, and frankly, those fans were significantly louder than what I am using now.😁

As for Corsair, I haven't had enough hands-on experience with their hardware to give an informed opinion.

Well, let’s look at the facts... people keep making these claims, yet the drive has been sitting there for months without a single noticeable change in performance or stability. The only thing worth mentioning is when I’m downloading large files overnight; the temperature creeps up to about 37–39°C. It’s a bit questionable if you ask me, but it isn't exactly a catastrophe—I just put a small fan nearby to cool it down, and it drops right back to 25°C.

That magnet isn't even particularly close to the hard drive... besides, the drive itself is mounted on rubber gaskets. I actually made sure to place small rubber washers between the screws and the HDD while tightening everything down to ensure zero vibration transfer. Everything is completely dampened, so the magnetic field isn't going to penetrate much, nor is the magnet particularly powerful to begin with.
I basically just slapped it in there without thinking about it at all!😁😁
PC Modding in Desktops ·
Why would anyone go and ruin everything... let’s just take things one step at a time, everything can be sorted out eventually... I’ve certainly held my own share of prejudices regarding various topics in the past...
One such example involves the headache of dealing with individual LEDs—specifically the HDD activity light and the power switch indicator. When I was first wiring up those little lights, I didn't fully grasp the implications until I actually attempted to plug and unplug them while the machine was running. It might seem like a trivial detail, but believe me, it can lead to some serious trouble if you aren't careful.
PC Modding in Desktops ·
Honestly... haha... this power supply is absolutely top-tier... 😁 It’s practically bursting at the seams because there's no room left in the chassis, but it handles the load without breaking a sweat!!

It is almost comical how completely oblivious he remains to the situation at hand... truly quite amusing.😁😁😂
