Grunge stands as the final major musical revolution in the States. Personally, I’m a huge fan and I’ll never get tired of spinning it.

But honestly, my obsession with Alice in Chains is on a completely different level. They are just a brilliant band with legendary albums; every single record tells its own story and hits me differently. I’ve probably lost count of how many hundreds of times I’ve sat through their self-titled album.

The whole point here isn't about trashing what other people like. Look, I wish Devin had made the cut because he’s a phenomenal musician, and I’m just as big on Neurosis, but if they didn't make it, then that's just how it goes.

Pearl Jam's a classic band and I usually dig them a ton, but this specific album is on another level.

It’s pouring outside, and I’ve got The Replacements playing in the background.

I’m already pretty well-versed in the whole saga leading up to Stalin and Beria—you know, all that business with the proletariat, Lenin, and the absolute mess unfolding in Russia during WWI.

But once you actually start digging, man, it’s just an endless avalanche of data.

Throw in some porn and music, and you really start seeing one of the true beauties of the internet 😁

It’s been 35 years since the disaster, and this kind of soundtrack would make even Lustmord proud.

Back when the series first dropped, I went down this absolute rabbit hole where I felt this manic, driving need to understand every single detail about nuclear reactors; I spent months obsessively studying the mechanics of it all.

I had a similar episode recently where I became obsessed with quantum physics, spending just as much time drilling into the theory until I felt like I actually understood it.

Honestly, there are times I actually regret not having that same obsessive drive to learn about more... normal things.

Shelter
A Season in The sky

Pink Floyd

People always try to pin down what genre Neurosis falls into, but honestly, it's pretty simple—it's just Neurosis. There isn't some neat little label for them.

this is enough to drive anyone insane 🙄 😁

they aren't even worth watching in the MLS; maybe four decent bars at most 😁

yeah, I really miss live shows; I’d honestly love to hit up a good punk gig right about now.

Modern music just feels hollow sometimes; I can't shake the feeling that it lacks the raw, gut-punching emotion you'd find at an old-school show or when watching those legendary legacy acts perform.

davidian

As for how fast time is flying, it honestly feels like Christmas Eve is tomorrow rather than the first of May.

Pure, raw emotion right here: Click

It was exactly the same vibe at that concert in Russia; you can see that same intense connection in the crowd there Tushino monsters of rock

Is it just me, or has modern music become completely soul-less?

Look, I apologize if this feels a little unsportsmanlike, but I had to throw my vote toward Deftones. I’m just obsessed with that album, and since it was already in the running, I figured I’d give it a little nudge. There was a specific stretch of my life where that record was basically my drug of choice—plus, there’s that one track that hits just as hard, "Passenger," featuring Keenan from Tool. It’s heavy.

As for David Bowie, I caught him live at this concert, and that’s where he completely won me over. Honestly, forget Haustor; his solo work is way better. It leans into that singer-songwriter vibe where they actually tell a story, which is exactly what I dig (think Tom Waits, for example). It’s a real shame he missed out by just one vote.

miss my old

I really miss those days when we'd just start drinking spontaneously at 4 PM and then suddenly decide, "Yeah, actually, let's head out to catch a Lightning game today."

Honestly, this is easily one of my all-time favorites. I remember spending way too many late nights back in my college days just getting completely lost in this record while tripping out in my dorm room.😁

If I'm not mistaken. This is the first track from divan. The one I heard.

There’s a fascinating history when you look at how church titles and hymns have evolved over the centuries. Take the Eastern Church—back when Constantinople was the center of it all—it developed quite differently from the West. Because they weren't operating under one single, centralized authority, they were actually much more open to using various languages for their liturgy throughout the ages.

When you look at the West, specifically Rome, the story is completely different. You have Gregorian chant and Latin serving as the universal standard for all Catholic churches across the globe, with one major exception that's unique to our history here in America. We’ve actually maintained the right to use Glagolitic chanting and our old vernacular language, which has really flourished, especially along the coast.

Back in the 1960s, the Vatican finally decided to let priests use local languages during Mass instead of sticking strictly to Latin. Right around that time, some American priests decided to hold services using an old, archaic script just to prove a point: you can still make a Mass feel deeply mystical and sacred without relying on Latin at all.

It’s just an undeniable fact that Rađa absolutely shut down Grašo 😁

Here's a better quote for whenever you're arguing online: "Fighting on the internet is like the Special Olympics; even if you win, you're still a moron."

Looking back at that era, I can't help but feel a bit nostalgic for those old dance hits; they actually had some soul. Everything that came after was just mindless, disposable pop music that isn't even worth the memory.

As for Grašo, he’s nothing more than a bland, pathetic castrate.

It's all about the LA Lakers

Honestly, nothing else matters to me. I didn't even realize the Warriors were playing today 😁
