Can't remove AIM from my profile

In that case, you should probably just reach out to Axmi directly. He's really more the go-to guy when it comes to all the technical specifics...

Way back in the day, back when things were different, my bathroom was basically famous for having every single Alan Ford issue stuck to the washer... and now that they've started reprinting them, here we go again. Honestly, I’ve even got some on my laptop, so maybe I should just move the whole collection to the bathroom. I've got two copies anyway, so why not... 😛🙄

Roger Foster95 said:That’s just not true. 🙂
Most of the time, posts just get deleted without any actual penalties for the offender. Why bother?
Even if the post itself isn't visible, you’d still see the post count on their profile.
I’d be all for deleting posts if we weren't nuking constructive threads just because they drift slightly off-topic. I'd support it if moderators weren't abusing the delete button and actually treated everyone on the forum equally. But in practice? It doesn't work like that. So, I'm against deleting posts.
There are penalty cards for every kind of violation. There’s a reason they exist. They're there to be used. 😉
Roger Foster95 said:The thing is, off-topic stuff keeps happening precisely because there aren't any penalties. A post just gets wiped, no sanctions, no nothing. So why wouldn't a user keep rambling off-topic if they know there are zero consequences? 🤷
But honestly, the bigger issue with deleting posts is when someone writes ten lines on a topic, and maybe one or two lines are technically off-topic just to clarify a point—then a moderator "decides," in their own unique way, that the whole thing is spam and nukes the entire post. Most of the time, they do it just because they don't agree with the user, and in the process, they kill any chance of a constructive discussion through pure incompetence.

It's kind of like when an Admin uses the ACP to assign someone as a moderator—the system automatically flags them as a Moderator, even if they decide to go into their profile later and write something else entirely...
Roger Foster95 said:I have zero clue who this Shady guy is, but honestly, any moderator who goes around deleting posts should be replaced. ☕
Rules exist for a reason. You apply them objectively, and everything works fine. No big deal.
From what I can tell, this was flagged as off-topic. If a moderator is actually clueless about the rules, a lighter penalty for off-topic chatter should just be a yellow card. A harder strike would be a red card plus a 10-point deduction.
In reality, deleting posts is usually just pathetic moderator tyranny—a way to scrub anyone's words they don't agree with from the board. 👎

This is what it actually looks like: http://www.reddit.com/r/example_thread users like Willard Baby and Nina69—there's no way they wrote that on their own... 🙄 🙄 Stop trying to act all high and mighty when you're clearly just trolling someone else. ☕

I really didn't want to drag your embarrassment over to this thread too, but since you're being so insistent...How adorable 😉

If you're trying to start a conversation, you might want to actually bring something to the table first. Or maybe I missed something obvious... but I doubt it. Anyway, let me know when you have an actual thought to share...
What kind of absolute mess is this?
Well, that’s what I heard from a few of the moderators...
Maybe it’s just me... or maybe I’ve actually lost my mind. Honestly, I don't even know anymore...
And then there’s a third option... where I just end up getting screwed over by some mods...
briskbison41 said:"Enough ignorance"? :confused
He was asking about his old posts. I had to break it to him that if you look through a profile, you can only see about 15 pages... which means he's capped at 300 posts total. Not exactly much of a deep dive, is it?
Another suggestion was just to dig through the PDFs and manually list out all the topics he actually ended up posting in...
I explained it to him using a slightly different set of words...
The only thing I didn't mention just now was that whole "Who became what" possibility...
Am I really that far off base with everything I've said...
briskbison41 said:Most of our recent posts have been moved over to this one specific sub-forum. It’s one that us regular users can't even see, and you can't even get an accurate count of the posts there...
briskbison41 said:Is there any actual chance the moderator will ever show you some mercy? Honestly... I highly doubt it.
Andrew Sanchez572 said:Well, honestly, there are those moments when you start a discussion with someone and things just spiral out of control, eventually devolving into outright insults. In those cases, I make sure to give a warning that I’ll be filing a report. It’s a necessity. I wouldn't dream of egging someone on toward bad behavior only to sit back and gloat about it afterward, haha... though I did manage to get the better of him once 😍
It really is a subtle issue... ☕
True, but that information is strictly for the moderators.
I absolutely detest logging onto the forum the "day after" only to find I've been slapped with a warning for off-topic posting or something similar. I always find myself wondering who on earth decided to report me... yet I have no right to know.
And then there are those slippery types who lack any real arguments; they provoke you, pull back, and then turn around and report you for being off-topic. Or for "trolling," simply because you called them out on their own trolling. 🙄
