... events from around the 80th minute...
Peace, silence—at least in my immediate vicinity—no chaos, no flares, just us standing there quietly, not even singing, when suddenly—our "peacekeepers" charge in, our "security" tearing through everything in their path. No one understood how or why, at least not me and the few friends nearby who were just watching the game civilly at that moment. Since I’ve long believed in staying loyal, I had to act foolishly and somewhat traitorously (
@VP and HU) to stage something I hoped would go smoothly, though it took longer than expected.
I pulled a napkin out of my fanny pack, wiped down my seat, and sat back down instead of running like the rest of the crowd. A cop approached me with threats, and I told him I just wanted to leave the stadium because I had no intention of fighting—especially since I have a game against Miami this Sunday—but then he went to swing his baton at me. Right then, an older NFL Ultra jumps in, saying, "Can't you see he's just a kid? Let him go..." but the officer ignored him. Seconds later, a squad leader arrives, grabs that same cop by the back of his vest, and literally tosses him toward the lower stands, shouting: "Are you insane?! We finally have someone peaceful in the stands, and you want to beat him?!" He told me he’d escort me down, which he did. You could hear shouts from that same "hero in blue" about how half of them might lose their jobs—I don't buy it, but hey, hope dies last. As I was heading down, I saw a scene to the left where two officers were separating a father from his ten-year-old son and started beating the boy with batons. It made me wonder what they'll be doing when they graduate to murder if they're treating a child like this. Once they "finished" with him, they offered him "assistance" from the paramedics. Honestly, I can't wrap my head around how people like that exist—beating innocent people—are they even sane?!
