Well, I’m currently working in Autodesk Maya, though I have to admit, Blender is making some pretty impressive strides lately.

It's an interesting watch; definitely worth checking out.

I'll have to double-check once I'm off the clock at work,😁 so I'll get back to you later, but my gut tells me it should be good to go.

An OCZ 600W

My current setup
CPU: i5 4690k OC at 4.3 Ghz, cooled by a COOLERMASTER Seidon 120V Ver.2 liquid cooler,
MBO: ASRock Z97M Pro4
RAM: 16GB (2x8GB) Kingston DDR3 HyperX Fury running at 1866MHz
HDD: Dell XPS 250GB 850 EVO Basic, plus a 640 GB WD and a 320 GB WD
VGA: SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition 2 GB
PSU: 600 W OCZ
Monitor: DELL P-series P2214H, 22 inch
OS: Windows 8.1

So, I’m stuck in a bit of a dilemma myself regarding which graphics card would be the better move here.

Should I go with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX gaming card with 8GB, specifically an MSI AMD RADEON R9 390 gaming, or maybe stick with something like an EVGA or MSI GeForce GTX 970?

Most of my time is spent on 3D modeling in AutoCAD and running Keyshot renders, since I pick up freelance gigs on Fiverr alongside my full-time job.

Of course, when I actually find a spare moment, I love to game—there's really nothing better.

Since NVIDIA has that CUDA advantage and all that, I'd love to hear any recommendations you might have.

Andrew Fox74 said:It's the exact same story with my buddy's chip; he couldn't push it past 4.3 GHz no matter how much voltage he threw at it, and since he was running liquid cooling, he wasn't exactly being shy about it on his ROG Maximus Gene board. He eventually just gave up and settled for 4.1 GHz at 1.2V for daily use—he just happened to get a bad batch, and there isn't much you can do about it...

edit: You didn't mention the power supply, which can definitely make or break things, but if everything else in your rig is solid, it's probably not some minor nonsense like that...

I'm running a 600W unit, and it looks like my specific chip just won't go any higher.

My rig
CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K
Liquid cooling via a Cooler Master Seidon 120V Ver.2,
Mobo: ASRock Z97M Pro4
RAM: Kingston DDR3 HyperX Fury, 1866MHz, 16GB (2x8GB), everything else is trivial

I just can't seem to get things stable at 4.4 GHz. I set the all-core ratio to 44 and the CPU cache ratio to 35, leaving the rest on auto. I'm using adaptive Vcore mode, set the Vcore to 1.200V, and left the Vcore offset on auto, which feels about right to me.
It passes Intel Burn Test, but Prime95 crashes every single time, so I guess I'm looking for some advice.

A journalist finds himself caught in this vicious, downward spiral of a smear campaign that pushes him right to the edge, all because he dared to expose how the CIA was arming rebels in Nicaragua and getting mixed up in cocaine smuggling.

It’s a fantastic movie based on actual events—definitely worth a watch.
