Honestly, just a bunch of amateurs... I suppose they didn't climb their way into these positions by accident—it seems their primary goal is to dismantle whatever little bit of competence actually remains left in the system...
So, it looks like they’re heading into qualifying and the race without any updates to the car at all... I suppose they might have miscalculated their timing just a little bit.link

I wasn't aware that AM3 would work on an AM2 socket...
In xxx instances where you perform a BIOS update, it might be possible—though one really ought to check if a specific motherboard actually supports an AM3 processor...

No, if you're looking to spend about $300, you really ought to be aiming for a 5850. However—and this is a big "however"—you first need to specify which power supply unit you're actually running. You'll have to open up the case and check the label on the PSU itself to see what we're working with.

Which would suggest the race could actually get interesting... if the final laps unfold with everyone sliding around on half-dead softs, and we see Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel fighting side-by-side...
James Castillo8 said:I'm looking at these two cards right now—not quite sure which one makes more sense to grab, especially since that ATI card supports DX 11.
The GTS 250 is the better choice here. Having DX 11 isn't going to offer much of a tangible advantage in the current landscape... I guess. Just a word of advice—don't buy from that specific site; you can find plenty of cheaper retailers elsewhere.
The folks over at AMD handle the assembly and the testing themselves. Even if they wanted to—which I highly doubt—it wouldn't matter much if they actually sent it out.

I specifically need one with an S-VIDEO output, and this one features 1GB of DDR3 memory. I suppose I'm wondering if it can handle modern games on high settings, or if there might be something better out there for the same price.
You aren't going to find anything new that outperforms this for that specific price point. As for running everything on high—well, it isn't going to happen on 20 or 22" monitors; perhaps at lower resolutions, though that depends entirely on the game—it's essentially just a mid-range card, after all.
Lisa Davis10 said:Are you referring to those hype trailers claiming this will be some genius, spectacular, once-in-a-lifetime season? It’s a long shot—but I suppose one should never say never...
Yes, that's exactly what I mean...
Lisa Davis10 said:Now, 2007 and 2008 were actually quite brilliant—tense, unpredictable seasons—but it’s a stretch to Expect every single year to live up to that standard..
And if they actually were... well, what we saw today was practically a suicide mission through an ambush...
They need to scrap this whole DRS nonsense immediately. They have more downforce now than they ever did before... yet the cars still end up nose-to-tail the moment they close the gap, unless 1.2 miles it’s a straightaway where overtaking is actually possible... I suppose they could just install water cannons along the track—if things get too dull, Charlie can just hit a button (not a paddle, mind you) and suddenly we have excitement right in the middle of the desert (though I'm not sure if that's just some side effect of those questionable ads) 🤷.....
Honestly, this is just complete nonsense. It’s as if they lack any actual blood pumping through their veins—they’re just going through the motions out there... I suppose we should implement a rule where you actually have to overtake someone twice—not via the pit lane, mind you—during a battle for position... and if you fail to pull it off, you only get half points... 😁 😁 😁 This whole thing makes zero sense...
Have they even heard of a designer? You’d think the folks over at Ford would have at least a modicum of taste when it comes to design like this—though I suppose my expectations are too high. Especially since we're talking about basic light bulbs 😁 😁
