ironpanther5 said:I mean, sure, you could technically do that, but I'm positive the meat at Subway isn't exactly the same. Look, I pick up items on sale or cheaper options all the time, but if you're running a high-end burger joint with prices that hit the stratosphere, you actually need to back it up with quality. He’s probably aiming for the snobby crowd, though from what I've seen, there aren't many of those people around there. It’s mostly just hipsters, college students, and the leftists, but we all suck it up because that Italian Burger is actually pretty decent, and let's be honest, we were all twenty once.😁

What really gets me at places like that is when they charge an absolute fortune for a soda; I'll just grab a water and move on to a place that serves actual draft beer later.

Take that place Frank likes so much that everyone swears by—I wouldn't set foot in there because I personally can't stand those kinds of spots; based on the photos, it looks like some fancy lounge version of a tacky nightclub.
When it comes to pizza, whether it's pricey or cheap, I love that Tony Soprano, mob-style vibe, even if it's a little hipster. That Basta place is just way too over-the-top for my taste; the patio is fine and all, but that's just me. Personally, Duksa hits the spot for me, especially since they have decent prices on beer and sparkling water. And honestly, that Purger spot in Tresnjevac is great, not even because of the pizza, but just because being there feels like stepping right back into the nineties.

Look, if you ask me, the pizza at Frankos is top-notch. Sure, it’s expensive and feels a bit elitist, but for an occasional outing, I find it perfectly fine.

Duksa never really did it for me because I'm not a fan of that Roman style; I much prefer Neapolitan, so I usually head to Basta. In my opinion, they offer the best value for your money, though again, that's mainly for people who crave Neapolitan.

Brewbites is alright if you're heading out with the crew to grab a beer and catch a game, but the food is just mediocre for me...

Look, Paul Martinez73, I’m going to have to break it to you: you can pick up everything you just mentioned at Walmart for $3.00

Has anyone actually ever laid eyes on that ethereal piece of plastic, or does it just exist in the realm of urban legend?

The way Jankovic shut down those Q&A questions in the podcast yesterday was something else. And if you do just a little bit of digging online, it becomes pretty obvious that not every single chef is the big deal that Paul Martinez73 claims they are.

I can already hear you, Paul Martinez73, trying to argue that Michelin is just some pretentious, overhyped trend and that "real" chefs are only the ones who agree with your nonsense about burgers being garbage. It’s honestly no different than how lawyers try to twist the law to suit their own narrative.

Oh, and while you're at it, take a good look at those prices too...

Noah Perez2 said:The strength of an argument 🙂

I agree with my colleague in principle with what was written and that sentiment... live and let live.

Though his specific comparison isn't quite accurate since Samsung produces garbage phones, while Xiaomi outperforms them across a much wider range of models.
The same goes for cars; for instance, I drive an Audi, but that doesn't mean I should consider someone else stupid just because they drive a Kia. It's mindless chatter.

The point is different: if you tell a user that they are embarrassing to read or that they are an idiot simply because they hold a different opinion than yours on various topics, then I don't see why you're whining when someone calls you an idiot for buying a sandwich from $23, purely for the sake of petty amusement and small satisfaction. ☕

Do you understand now, or do you need further clarification? ☕

Yes, absolutely.
I really need to demonstrate exactly where I called my colleague an idiot and tried to impose my own code of conduct as if it were some kind of universal standard...
Through convergence, we’re going to strip away everything that doesn't serve a purpose. Go ahead—send me the specific packet where I called you or your client an idiot...

When we can't seem to find any common ground through conversation, perhaps this reductive method might finally bridge the gap... and who knows, it might actually prove to be quite functional...

Forget about self-reflection for a moment, no matter how unsettling that might feel...

It gives me a particular sense of satisfaction when, after a few well-placed slaps, the narrative suddenly flips and everything starts looking upside down.
When you transition from spiritual transcendence into pure physical reality, even the most stubborn elements of matter quickly find themselves submitting to the laws of physics.

A superior force, there’s simply no other way to put it.

Paul Martinez73 said:You clearly don't grasp the concept of private property, nor do you understand a single word I’m saying.
Your issue is that you take offense like a total coward and start whining the second someone disagrees with you. Then you try to talk down to me with insults like "well, why don't you explain this," while crying about things that everyone else is doing on an even worse level.

The guy above is basically saying he'll head over to Steven's underground sandwich shop, but when I call him out, he'll be right back here sobbing about how I'm lecturing him... Just look at the posts from people like you and the others who just love to whine.

I suppose you'll just forgive me for the fact that it isn't easy to crawl inside your head.
Not everyone possesses the capacity to comprehend those dangerous fantasies where we attempt to justify the uncompromising bravery of defenders protecting sacred ground.
Perhaps it’s some kind of alchemical process occurring within the mind of a believer, where the spiritual somehow fuses with the physical.
It is, after all, something metaphysical—something one ought to seek out through deep contemplation regarding human existence and survival.

You’ll likely just excuse the fact that something of this nature isn't instinctively recognized on a purely superficial level...

Of course, just like every other debate, we’re met with a barrage of exaggerated anecdotes and half-truths, which are then lightly debunked by a series of reality checks...

That archetypal sense of masculinity is always being reinforced by using this crying emoji. Truly, congratulations on that profound insight.
Your personal idealization of Paul Martinez73's views is nothing more than a byproduct of you trying to identify with someone who clearly holds the weaker hand in this discussion.
Delusional disorders aren't particularly uncommon during times of crisis, so I can certainly empathize with your current state of mind...

User Paul Martinez73 just went and hired an attorney.
So, since you’re clearly the resident expert on private property laws, why don't you enlighten us? I'd love to hear your take on how your client attempted to twist and misinterpret those very laws using their "expertise" and clever wording to justify such a blatant violation...

Noah Perez2 said:I don't see why you're apologizing; you're absolutely right that it's pure idiocy to be given $23 for a sandwich. I fail to see anything wrong with what you said. 🤷

They're forcing their food opinions on us. 🙂

Is anyone actually spending your money—or taxpayer dollars—when they buy a burger? $23.
You can disagree with someone, sure, but labeling people who make those choices as "idiots" says a lot more about your own character than theirs.

So, because I don't share the opinion that Mac should be the go-to choice for burgers, I'm suddenly supposed to be an idiot?
That seems to be the way your logic works...

If things aren't done exactly my way, then it's "idiocy."
Honestly, it's no wonder this country struggles when people measure everything by such a narrow, condescending yardstick...
Offside Chat Archives (2014-2021) in Soccer ·
To effectively caricature someone, you actually need to understand the verb itself and the specific context in which it’s being applied.
What you’re doing every single time you encounter an opinion you disagree with isn't caricature; it's condescension, patronizing behavior, and a blatant attempt to belittle the person you're debating.
I honestly just feel bad that you can't even pull it off anymore, because at this point, it's stopped being entertaining...
There isn't a polite euphemism for what happens when people try to debate you, other than accurately identifying it as the slapping of an inferior and underdeveloped mind.

Why don't you tell us all about your refined palate for haute cuisine based on those gourmet experiences you had back in Cleveland and McPherson?
Let's leave the Subway talk to someone else.

Paul Martinez73 said:Domino's Pizza is absolute garbage; it’s like buying that Dr. Oetker stuff at Lidl and just tossing it in the oven. That’s basically their whole business model. And Subway? They barely made a dent in Europe—that's not even an exaggeration. In major cities, you might find maybe five locations, and they kept their prices just as high in Berlin as they did in Washington, D.C., so they're headed for another collapse...

I never doubted for a second that Sportivo - Burggeliere belongs to that category of "elite burgers," where they grill a patty right in front of you 🤣, but let's be real: it's just that pre-ground meat from Walmart that everyone uses for cheap patties—basically scraps of scraps. They pretend to make them themselves because it's cheaper to shape a patty and slap a "handmade" label on it than to actually buy quality meat; they get the ground beef for $6.75/lb, turn it into a patty for $10/lb, and then serve it to you like it's some Subway sandwich meant to be eaten on the run $13. To actually get full at YS, you have to drop $23 on a single damn Burger
.
I eat at Kremenko, MekPers, and places like that myself, but purely just for the variety...

And then you have people talking about marketing geniuses. They can tell the difference between a $20 burger and a $13, but the only thing they really feel is the hit to their wallet 🤣
Sportivo - Burggeliere 🤣

McPers is ten times worse than McDonald's, easily.
But based on your references, it's pretty obvious to me that when it comes to food, you always go for the cheapest, most mass-produced option.
"Opium for the masses"—that should be your middle name.

LP,
Burggeliere

Well, it costs exactly what it's worth. Didn't I make that point clear already?
But you have similar concepts out there, like KFC or Burger King. The prices and quality are pretty much on par. Over there, nobody even shows up, yet here we are, standing in lines fifty meters long...

I just don't get it. Is it some aggressive marketing ploy or those ridiculous little plastic toys they give out?
Offside Chat Archives (2014-2021) in Soccer ·
If it's being served right in the middle of the square, then yeah, it fits that whole European concept perfectly.
I've never actually given Nissan a shot myself; I always just assumed they were some mediocre knockoff of McDonald's.
Maybe I'll swing by if you're really insisting it's better...
Offside Chat Archives (2014-2021) in Soccer ·
Is that the American version of McDonald's?

A burger is the ultimate comfort food, much like pizza, but looking at these crowds, I get the impression that for some people, this is their only real foray into that kind of cuisine. But hey, everyone spends their money however they please.

@restlesssurfer97, I also frequent those pricier burger joints, and I have to say, I can actually taste the difference. At McDonald's, everything tastes exactly how you'd expect—it’s assembly-line food.
I know a few spots where the burgers are significantly better, but you end up waiting half an hour because everything is made to order. Even the patty is formed right in front of you, rather than flying off a conveyor belt with that rubbery aftertaste.
A burger like that simply cannot cost$6.75 the same as anything else, nor could it ever match McDonald's prices because they don't have that level of centralized procurement and bulk buying power. It's just like how some cheap junk is always going to be cheaper at Lidl than at some tiny corner bodega.
