Yeah, honestly? That’s just awful. It’s like someone telling you exactly how a movie about Jesus is going to end...

Ugh, honestly, the movie probably would’ve hit a little harder if I hadn't watched those interviews first. But since Howard focused so much on the behind-the-scenes stuff anyway, I doubt it really changed my take too much.

The thing is, Nixon basically got off easy—sure, he was impeached and lost the presidency, but Ford practically gave him a full pardon, which drove a lot of people crazy. Because of Watergate, Nixon walked away without much of a penalty when he really should have been facing jail time. Plus, by insisting his mistakes were all done in the best interest of the country and the public, he managed to stay somewhat relevant in political circles. He essentially brushed off the guilt by framing Watergate as just a series of unfortunate events, and since there wasn't definitive proof otherwise, he played it off—even though most Americans knew he was guilty. That interview felt like a catharsis for the whole nation and for Nixon himself; things finally felt settled. The end result, though, was Nixon being totally ousted from politics and cemented as one of the ultimate villains in American history.

It’s a fascinating case if you're into politics, but it's also gripping from a human perspective—like watching a showdown between two completely opposite personalities. Honestly, most people don't care much about politics unless it involves local 🤷 news, man. I guess ever since the end of WWII, I've viewed Americans like Romans and their president like an emperor, so maybe that's why I find this stuff so addicting...

Man, you're totally tripping. For Americans, this is basically our version of the Nuremberg trials, especially for anyone who lived through the Nixon era. The topic is anything but boring.

At first I was thinking, "Man, is Langella actually gonna outshine Hopkins?" But as the movie goes on, you realize Langella is really bringing something special to the table.

I loved how much it sucked me in. Honestly, before I started watching, I couldn't have cared less about what happened, and even now that it's over, I still feel the same. Like, does it even matter if the guy who broke the law finally admits he did it?

8/10.

It's an okay movie, but nothing crazy. 6.5/10. Langella was good, Hopkins was good, but it just doesn't touch the drama of those actual interviews. And I'm assuming that last question was rhetorical. 😁
Man, those vouchers are such a joke. Total waste of time.

Exactly.
Yeah, I’m hoping so too. Even though I agree with Kevin Chavez3, I’m still holding out hope for something totally unexpected. Honestly, though, those guys are perfect for huge crowds like this 🤷
No waaaay, what's wrong with you?! Call her right now!
T-Mobile says Franz Ferdinand is going to be playing.

Don't be so naive, kid! This whole thing is basically just a lottery.

hopefully the rest of the lineup isn't total garbage like last year 🤣
Who is the GOAT of action movies? in Movies ·
For me, it’s Bruce Willis, then Sylvester Stallone, and then Arnold Schwarzenegger. Willis had that perfect touch of cynicism that I still dig today. I wonder if Mel Gibson fits into that same tier? I can't stand what he's become, but man, those Mad Max movies are legendary, and his first two Lethal Weapons were total classics.

Of course I’m speaking in full sentences—it’s just how my brain flows, kind of like voicing whatever pops into my head. Honestly, thoughts move way faster than speech, so I often find myself halfway through one idea while thinking about ten others, causing me to pause for a second before jumping back in.

Hey man, where'd everyone go? Like, where are Bruce Willis, Don "The Dragon" Wilson, Chuck Norris, Bruce Lee, and all those newer guys at?

goldenhound32 said:So, picture this: I’m sitting here in my room, and there is absolutely nothing but silence. It’s that heavy, thick kind of quiet—the sort that feels like it has actual weight to it. And in the middle of all that stillness, I just start... speaking. I’m articulating sentences into the void. It’s a strange sensation, really. There’s no one to react, no audience to judge the cadence or the choice of words, and certainly no feedback loop to validate whether what I'm saying even makes sense. It’s just me, my thoughts, and the sound of my own voice cutting through the vacuum. It feels a bit clinical, perhaps even a little lonely, though I suppose I’ve always been somewhat comfortable with my own company. It’s a measured process—just syllables being released into an empty space, drifting away until they're swallowed by the quiet again. It’s almost meditative, if you can ignore the slight absurdity of it all.
It isn't that I lack faith in you; rather, it's simply because I find the subject matter fascinating.

This post simply doesn't suit you.

Fair enough.

Whether I'm in my room, walking outside alone without even realizing it, or just sitting at my computer... it just happens. Usually, it's just me vocalizing my thoughts—basically narrating my brain or playing out scenarios. Sometimes it turns into singing, too (I have this habit of making up lyrics and singing them, even though I'm a terrible singer). 🤷 A few times people have actually walked in while I was talking to myself and it was super awkward, though most of the time you don't even realize you're doing it.

When I was a kid, there was this older guy living above our house who would sing all day long, just making up songs on the spot. He had an amazing voice, though. Eventually, it either starts driving you crazy or you just tune him out completely. 🙂

But can you say with 100% certainty that her reaction is illogical? 🤷

Which reaction?

Furthermore... talking to oneself. I don't know anyone in real life who does that, yet I see it constantly in films.
I'm not even counting characters seeing people who aren't there, those with mental illnesses, sleep-talking, or "conversations" with inanimate objects (like Christine). I can accept all of that.

But a perfectly normal character, alone in the room, staring straight ahead, just uttering sentences to thin air? It feels surreal. Or does it?

I do that all the time. Honestly, I know plenty of people who talk to themselves. I've been doing it since I was a little kid, and I still see my old man doing it today.🤷 My elementary school teacher used to tell us that only crazy people talk to themselves, but it's been about 15 years since then and I'm still perfectly sane.🤷

Just because you've never seen it happen doesn't mean it isn't real. This post just doesn't sit right with me.

The whole Supermenu debate is about the comic, not the movie.

Also, the nudity in the film isn't really about hypocrisy—it's more about the censors. Look, if you put boobs in a movie, the rating goes up. A higher rating means kids can't see it without parents, which just means less money at the box office. Most directors who aren't huge A-listers can't really hide behind "artistic vision" to justify lower earnings because, let's be real, most studios couldn't care less about art—they just want profit. They'll make a couple of prestige films a year for the clout, but for most of them, it's all about the bottom line. Plus, if you're filming a scene with nudity, the actress is gonna demand a bigger paycheck.
Like always, it’s not about morality, because morality doesn't pay the bills; it's about the cash. Personally, I love boobs and think there should definitely be more of them since they just complete the aesthetic of any film. 🙂 🙂 🙂
