I’m telling you, I’m such an idiot.
frozentinker432 said:Basically, it wasn't really a jumping-around, sing-along type of show. I didn't know what to expect, so I guess I went in thinking it would be more high-energy. Now I have no clue how many people were actually jumping or singing along in their heads. 😁

Wait, so you go to an American music festival expecting a massive sing-along from an indie band that spends 60% of their set playing tracks from their last psychedelic, somewhat moody album? Hmm. Honestly, the Pixies absolutely crushed the musical side of things.

And man, in the front rows, the energy during Yoshimi, Do You Recognize Me, and Where Is My Mind was next level. For me, the only downside was all the political commentary and them trying to force the crowd to participate. As far as the performance goes, the Pixies have been trying to sync their visuals with their sound since their early days—back then they were lighting cymbals on fire and bringing motorcycles on stage like a garage band opening for the Beach Boys, whereas today they’re tossing confetti and having people stomp on balloons.

Bottom line, I wouldn't say the stage antics outshone the music, even though I get why non-fans might feel that way. The visual stuff is super cool, though.

Hey, watch it with the "chubby bearded guy" comments! 😍

You're smart, I'm just an idiot 🙂 but they killed me because cause=time!

Nah. He did that when she was only 16, just to show her the ropes.

That’s $35 for a pretty massive portion of food from China.

My biggest regret from day two—honestly, even more than missing Caribou. Why on earth did they tuck that booth away so far back? I didn't even realize it was there until I was already stuffed. WHY?!?!?!?! 😢
Here’s my report.

and "general" is spelled "general" in American English! 😠

I caught the name mistake right when I went back to proofread and fix the post. Personally, I think the way I wrote it looks better.
Here’s my recap from the fest. Man...

You can gently pry them apart using a needle (I used a histology one, but a regular sewing needle works fine—just be careful not to snap it and poke 🙂), one by one, and slide something underneath so they don't snap back (like some thick aluminum foil from a medicine pack or something). You'll sand down the mushroom and the teeth a bit in the process, but it'll still hold up great once you snap it back together.

Just give it away to a buddy or that girl in fifth period you're writing songs for; selling bracelets is just lame...

Or just rip it apart like a true rebel and glue it back together with Super Glue so it looks brand new. Honestly, nobody will even notice unless the guy checking your wrist decides to spend five minutes inspecting your bracelet.
The only thing that actually killed it tonight 🙏 🙏 :S

I don't know, maybe you'd have better luck asking over in the Formula 1 thread; those guys really know their stuff when it comes to racing 😉

It was actually a blast. Being right up front, the volume wasn't even that crazy—or maybe I just have good ears, who knows? No ringing in my ears at all, and I didn't have any issues hearing Deacon for the next three days either. The band sounded awesome; they played all the hits from the first album, though they skipped some of my absolute favorites from the second. Still, "California Dreamin'" was killer, and the newer stuff was alright. Honestly, the crowd was a mess, though. Some people spent the whole set with their fingers in their ears like they were at a Chopin recital instead of seeing The Rolling Stones. People, please, buy some earplugs—they aren't even expensive.

Does he seriously not realize they don't have three quality centers in the NBA?!?!?
Just saw this at a press screening. Honestly, it was surprisingly fun and engaging, even if it’s packed with a million logical gaps and those classic historical blunders. But man, that final battle? Total disaster. Like, how are they crossing the English Channel in wooden landing crafts powered by freaking oars?! Did they just row the whole way in one go and then immediately jump into combat?! What kind of steroids are those guys on? Give me some of that stuff! That last fight really drags down an otherwise decent flick. The plot is totally reworked, the acting is fine, you get some fighting, some bickering, a tiny bit of romance, a touch of melodrama, and that's about it. Still, it was better than I expected. Either way, men in tights remains the best Robin Hood Movie ever made 😍
I honestly think the Coachella Stage was the best part, even without any world music acts on it👋
Just got an official email saying Dan Snaith was actually born in '97. That basically makes him nine years younger 👋 it's gonna be a party 👋
Montana is way better ☕

👋 👋 👋
If they just brought back a charming band like Hold Steady or Art Brut like they used to, we’d easily have the best festival ever. 👋
The Flaming Lips :S :S 🙏 :S
