The biggest scammers in Music ·
Rachel Wood said:Yeah, they copied everything—even the band name and Gobac's whole frontman vibe, you know, the black eyeliner and all that.
Psychomodo wasn't actually a band from the 70s, though—it was an album by Cockney Rebel, specifically Steve Harley's group. I actually found some of their records up in the attic... at first, I thought it was just some local act, but then I realized it was some Americans from New Orleans (though you’d expect country music from there, not gothic metal 😲).
The frontman is basically a total rip-off of Gobac—same eyeliner, same whole deal.

God, I love originality.

Psychomodo isn't a 70s band; it's an album by the group Cockney Rebel led by Steve Harley back in the 70s. That's why you found that record in your attic and got your wires crossed.

Honestly, Jasenka Hojura is the biggest thief and absolute trash. He's a notorious hack and anti-intellectual. He stole whenever he had the chance—back in the 90s, he even pretended to be this folk musician type. Total garbage.
Everyone knew he was stealing because Houra just lives for music. He'd hear two or three bands and just strip them clean.
That song he wrote for his mom? It isn't just a blatant plagiarism, it's also complete crap.
And the fact that a lot of people dig them isn't a coincidence. Around here, people love Tompston, Ceca, Joks, and Škoro. So why wouldn't they like Hojur? He's playing in that same league.

John King5 said:Hey everyone,
So, when was the last time any of you actually caught King Crimson live? Based on what I'm reading here—it sounds like most of you haven't even been to one.
"Red" shows up on the setlist for basically every single one of their shows. Back in the nineties, they could easily pull off "Larks' ii" or "Talking Drum"—and hell, they could even throw in "21st Century Schizoid Man" if they felt like it.

I’m pretty skeptical about any upcoming shows anytime soon—especially after those comments from Robert Fripp about how KC isn't planning on touring Europe anymore because the promoters there are just too incompetent (particularly in Eastern Europe).
Has anyone here actually sat down and listened to The Power to Believe?
The Discipline era was solid, don't get me wrong—but honestly? I think the Fripp - Belew - Gunn - Mastelotto lineup is still the best KC reincarnation we've seen to date.

I own The Power to Believe. Look, there’s absolutely no debate that it’s a solid album—it holds its own—but when you put it up against that legendary era from the 70s? It just feels kind of small by comparison.
It’s true that they played those bits here and there during the '90s. As for 21st Century Schizoid Man, they did actually tackle it—I think it was either in Nashville or Mexico—but Adrian Belew’s vocals were pretty rough on that one, so I guess they eventually just gave up on it. On the Power to Believe tour, I didn't see Larks' ii or Talking Drum on any of the setlists, but hey, whatever.
Honestly, Robert Fripp was never one to get sentimental about the past—not even when it comes to the '70s. I respect his stance, really, but personally? I just can't bring myself to watch Crimson without at least half an hour of that '70s era mixed in. That specific period is what built the whole Crimson cult and that fanatic following we see today. It’s basically what allowed Fripp to make a living off endless reissues and those overpriced deluxe editions featuring obscure live recordings from the old lineups.
At this point, I’ve pretty much given up hope that I’ll ever actually see the 21st Century Schizoid Man band play the stuff those of us who have been around since the beginning actually want to hear.

Nathan Barnes5 said:I honestly think Fripp just showed up to mess with everyone—which fits his whole hidden cynical vibe perfectly. Those Soundscape sets were clearly designed to get under people's skin, and he probably got some weird, twisted kick out of it.
I don't see any other explanation; he’s operating on a completely different plane than those two guys—forget about calling him some "guitar hero." 🙂
Anyway, it's a bummer they didn't lean into some heavier KC stuff. "Red" is fine, I guess, but something like "Larks' tongues..." would have been a total knockout.

And that review? It read like it was written by some 15-year-old kid who hasn't hit puberty yet.🙄

So they actually played "Red"? If that's true, that's huge—because this current lineup of Crimson doesn't touch anything from the 70s. Obviously, "Larks" would have been unbeatable. Or maybe "Fracture"... or a surprise "21st Century Schizoid Man."

I honestly can't wrap my head around why Fripp is even bothering with those two tedious hacks. Half the crowd didn't even realize who that suit was anyway. Even Pista Penava—who leads one of the absolute worst bands on the planet—couldn't name a single song from that King Crimson set these three supposedly "world-class" guitarists were playing (what’s the term for that little scale people use to judge someone's guitar skills again?)
Fripp—someone I genuinely thought was untouchable—has really hit rock bottom.

And they actually want breaks between songs? Like, do they expect the Pixies to stop mid-set just to tell them they’re the best crowd ever or how happy they are to be there? Or maybe they want to—God forbid—sing along? Honestly, the whole idol worship thing has never been my style. Those four could be total garbage for all I care, but they put on a damn good, perfectly timed show.
As for anyone thinking Bossanov is some masterpiece and whining because it didn't get enough love or complaining about the tracklist order... that's just a pretty biased way to look at things.
I got screwed over by people in Canada. When you ask for your change back in dollars, they suddenly get all rude, even though you'd expect everything in the US to be handled in our own currency. What am I supposed to do with their useless local scraps? Then, to top it off, those assholes made us wait outside the entrance in the rain for half an hour. Their highways are pitch black and basically death traps when visibility gets low. The Union and Laško brands are absolute trash.
Regarding the ban on bringing beer into the venue, that's been the standard practice at the Križanko arena for ages, so it didn't really shock me. It's a pretty stupid rule, though—they ban plastic cups, so then you just have crowds smuggling in glass bottles, which is a hundred times more dangerous. But that's what happens when people focus on following pointless formalities in silly situations, only to toss them aside the second it becomes inconvenient or dumb.

Look, the stuff about the KKK isn't just baseless chatter—their logo, and honestly, you can find that same symbol on your own avatar, appearing in pretty much every photo of those hooded members. That specific cross sits right on the front of their robes. Of course, there's always some convenient excuse floating around claiming it’s just some ancient relic that predates the KKK's existence.
I have to admit, though, I couldn't care less. My focus is on the music—whether those people are absolute trash or just incredibly dim-witted isn't really my problem.
Blue Öyster Cult in Music ·
Look, I respect the band, but my interest is almost strictly limited to their seventies era. For me, *Secret Treaties* is the absolute peak—they hadn't really missed the mark yet. Once they hit *Agents of Fortune*, things started getting a bit silly, and *Spectres* was even worse, though I'll admit those tracks were from the late seventies when they were trying something different. Still, nothing touches the masterpieces found on those first three albums. By the eighties, they just felt... sleazier. Sure, they had some high points like *Fire of Unknown Origin* and *Imaginos*, but that decade also gave us total disasters like *Club Ninja* and *Revolution by Night*. Honestly, it was a mess—just pure sludge. I have to admit, after *Imaginos*, I pretty much checked out.
That said, even at their worst, they still outclass pretty much any other American heavy metal band out there.
Pixies | Ljubljana in Music ·
That’s exactly how they hyped up the Queens of the Stone Age show—claiming tickets would be impossible to find. I was actually panicking. I managed to snag mine, only to see people selling them by the bucketload outside the venue. Typical. Now, someone will inevitably point out that QOTSA and the Pixies aren't the same thing. Well, yeah. For me, the Pixies are better, but back then, QOTSA had a fresh album and a bunch of singles constantly blasting on the radio and TV. My ticket cost $43 (if I remember right, maybe even less), while the Pixies are supposedly going to set you back $60. At that price, you might as well buy a luxury cruise $10 and get a free newspaper included.
Believe me, the Pixies are pretty obscure to most people. A coworker recently asked me this incredibly profound question: "Have you ever heard of the Pixies?" I kid you not. I ended up lending him Doolittle and Bossa Nova (Surfer Rosa is on there too, though that one is a tough sell). He told me he thinks the Monkeys are great, and the rest was "pretty decent."
As for those Austrians and Digić, they'll probably just watch the Pixies perform on their own turf.
Look, I don't want to overdo it. You obviously need to make sure you get tickets, but all this talk about tents and endless lines is just nonsense.
Pixies | Ljubljana in Music ·
Look, folks, you guys are seriously delusional about the country we live in. Aside from a handful of us who think they’re one of the greatest bands to ever exist, nobody in America has ever heard of them, let alone cares. You can try to grab tickets all you want—it won't matter.
The reality is they sold out their New York City show in fifteen minutes flat. But what does New York have to do with us? Over there, the Pixies are a massive deal, whereas here, people are still obsessed with Thompson and Colony. And as for our neighbors in Canada, our touring circuit has been living off them for years. People used to flock over just to see Magazin, Stavros, and the rest of the crowd. So now you think you actually need to camp out for this? Don't be naive.
Bands you absolutely disdain in Music ·
Guns N' Roses. Pure trash that kids somehow obsess over.

AC/DC—monotonous, boring, dry, macho, zero drum fills—basically just shit.

The Stooges—no explanation needed. If you don't get them, you either know nothing about music or you're just slow.

cult-odvratno Sisters of

Sisters of Mercy—I guess. They're better than phantasmagoria.

Hard Time, Wildside—enough for the smart ones, but the idiots will never get enough.
Morcheeba in Music ·
Honestly, *Fragments of Freedom* is easily their dumbest work. Total garbage. For me, *Big Calm* is the standout—and their debut was actually pretty solid too, along with *Charango*.
They’re a decent enough band, I guess. Though, I have this sinking feeling they won't ever record anything good again. I'm worried they've already peaked and hit their ceiling.
Of course, Portishead is in a completely different league—they're just classier. But even they seem like a closed chapter at this point.😢
