This whole thread is clearly the brainchild of someone whose musical taste was spoon-fed to them by those pretentious indie critics over at Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, and Mojo. It’s basically just a textbook example of a mass-produced pop culture product trying way too hard to act like it's "counter-culture" by pretending to resist the mainstream.

I honestly always assumed they were just some manufactured project,
like a group of actors decided to record a few tracks to show off their softer side, or maybe like seeing Madeleine Albright doing the Macarena or something ridiculous.
There's really no other way to explain why the media gives them so much spotlight.

...Glam Rock played a massive role in shaping '80s pop-metal , even if most of those bands—aside from Def Leppard—were American and had minimal knowledge of the original sources.
Jonny is just something else... especially in Sleepy Hollow playing that gritty, swampy detective. He was untouchable there...
He also crushed another more serious role where he plays a detective again—this one investigating Jack the Ripper in the movie From Hell. It’s a damn good flick.👍
There’s also that old rumor floating around about how Frank Black actually auditioned to be the new frontman for Guns N' Roses—you know, back when they were trying to pull off a run without Axl Rose. I heard Sebastian Bach and a bunch of other guys were in the mix too. Legend has it he absolutely blew those glam rockers out of the water with that high-pitched Thai scream of his, but apparently, he was just too heavy to pull off those tight spandex outfits and jump around the stage. Such a shame...
