Could you walk me through the details of what's actually happening here? I'm trying to figure out if you're planning to swap out Windows XP for Windows 7 entirely, if you're looking to dual-boot Windows 7 alongside XP, or if you're just moving over to a fresh HDD with Windows 7 already on it. 😕
2. I guess you could just do a standard installation using a DVD. There are plenty of tutorials out there for that, so it shouldn't be much of an issue. It’s pretty much the same process as installing Windows XP. 🙂
Didn't you format the C: drive before doing a clean install of Windows 7? I'm wondering where all those leftover pieces of Windows XP programs came from. 😕

Do you honestly think Windows 7 has built-in drivers for that specific modem?
Windows 7 usually comes with plenty of generic drivers. If it doesn't pick it up automatically, maybe you have an old driver CD for that modem meant for Windows XP; if so, it might work using Compatibility mode.
I have a quick question. I'm in the middle of picking out a new PC and was planning on installing Windows 7... but I'm running into a snag. I connect to the internet using an old USB ADSL modem (an A-100 model or something similar) that Comcast handed out back when I first got ADSL service. Does anyone know if there are actually drivers for that thing for Windows 7? I tried searching online but didn't find much... and obviously, Siemens doesn't have anything listed 🙄 What about Windows XP 64-bit (would the old drivers work then)? Also, signing a new contract with Comcast for a different modem isn't really an option since I already committed to switching over to high-speed cable, but I won't be able to get everything hooked up until mid-month.
If Windows 7 doesn't just grab the driver for your USB modem automatically, you could probably try using Compatibility mode to run the drivers meant for XP or Windows Vista.
Christian Mendoza60 said:Hey guys, I've run into a bit of a headache. Back when I was running Windows XP, I used to install those Realtek audio drivers to tweak my sound settings, but now that I've moved to Windows 7, I can't seem to find them anywhere. It looks like the OS just automatically swapped out my drivers. Is it possible that it didn't actually grab the Realtek ones? I have a high-end audio setup connected to my PC right now, and everything is just playing through the default settings, which I really don't like.
I’d suggest heading over to your motherboard manufacturer's website and grabbing the specific Windows 7 audio drivers. You should probably uninstall whatever is currently running before you try installing the new ones.
If those are your specs, you should be able to install Windows 7 without much trouble.

So, I’ve got a bit of a dilemma here. Should I be downloading the 32-bit or the 64-bit version? What’s the actual difference between them?
So, I'm running Windows XP right now, and it's only recognizing 3.23 GB of RAM. I guess that's just how it goes.
Thanks in advance for the reply.
This question was already asked, and it’s already been answered. I guess you should probably just scroll back through the previous posts on this thread to find what you're looking for. 🙂
If you’re trying to figure out which specific codec might be missing because your video or audio won't play, I'd suggest using Gspot. It helps pinpoint what's lacking.
Maybe try rolling back to an older version of the ATI radeon HD5750 drivers. Just make sure you completely uninstall the current version before attempting to install the previous one. 🙂
