aiming for the Front Side Bus
Exactly. It won't go any further. At the end of the day, it's still a P5KR. To push it more, you'd need some serious mods or just a different board entirely...
darkowl72 said:@ rustyrider40: looking good... what are you using for cooling?
Using this.
wiredmarlin5 said:Nice work. You didn't mention the cooling, though, and I don't see Zalman in there... 😁
Too bad you don't have an Intel Core 2 Duo E8400, you could probably hit 4.5GHz with that👍
Are you registered on PCI Express too?
I posted my cooling setup a few posts up...
If I had an Intel Core 2 Duo E8400, I’d be hitting at least 4.75GHz.
I actually had a shot at snagging an Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 to swap out this Intel Core 2 Duo E8200. But there was all this talk about certain batches being junk, people saying only the early production runs were actually good. Turns out I might have messed that up... because this Intel Core 2 Duo E8200 I have is from one of those early batches.

1.47V should handle a stock Conroe for SuperPI 1M without breaking a sweat, maybe even these little guys could...
What RAM are you running? And why a screenshot of the validation instead of just a link? Also, why is it in Italian? 😁
I tried bumping it to 1.6V but the result stayed exactly the same.
The memory is Patriot Extreme PC8500. I pushed it to 2.55V, which is the limit for this board, but I can't get the latency any lower...
Just used a screenshot because I didn't feel like messing around with links, and besides, did you think it wasn't stable? It wouldn't pass Orthos, but it ran perfectly fine for what I needed. As for the language, it's because where I am right now, people speak Italian, it's not about the country itself...😁
wiredmarlin5 said:Are you also ranked on PCI Express?
Yeah, I am. Currently sitting at number 9 on the top ten list...
Since I'm running this thing 24/7, I keep it clocked at 3.8GHz with 1.392V and a 1900MHz Front Side Bus. Running Mema CL4.
Max temps under Orthos stay right around 60°C...
