Oh, absolutely!!! Me too 🙂 And man, you hit the nail on the head with that description. Catch you tonight 👋
Look, if it were actually worth anything, I wouldn't have cleared out after just thirty minutes. I went there—like I mentioned before—because I was genuinely interested in how he handled those massive big band arrangements. Sure, it wasn't a live set, so you can't really blame them for the lack of energy, but still... I wanted to give it a fair shot, but it just wasn't worth fighting through the crowd for something that mediocre...
I gotta be honest, I haven't really delved deep into his whole discography—well, except for that one Big band, which actually blew me away, and honestly, that was the only reason I even bothered showing up to this show. But man, this whole thing? Total snooze fest. It was just a massive crowd of hyperactive, high, and completely burnt-out people who seemed way more interested in the fact that they were physically standing at an MH concert than actually listening to the music. That's pretty much the long and short of it. 👎
If I’m remembering correctly, there were at least two other threads about this guy floating around last month...
The concert? Total garbage. Just a glorified DJ set... honestly, my feet were aching after only thirty minutes.

I heard the beat was dropping every three minutes straight. ))))
If we're being pedantic about dates—which I guess we are now—it was actually April 29th. And yeah, it was the same Matthew Herbert, just that those concerts happened a whole year ago (along with this entire thread). 😉

Seriously, quit the pseudo-intellectual waxing—and let’s be honest, it’s pretty mindless stuff. If you actually want to join this conversation, try being constructive for once.
So, go ahead, please—walk me through exactly why my take is so "stupid." 😕
I just don't get how you listen to music, and honestly, that's where the disconnect ends.

What an absolute load of nonsense!!! Look, if you actually enjoy something, you listen to it when the mood strikes—purely because you feel like it, period. It doesn't matter if it’s right this second or ten years from now. You don't just sit there waiting for a song to be "trendy" or "in the zeitgeist" just to satisfy some fleeting vibe... and then never touch it again. That's just ridiculous.
You really gotta give Kind of Blue a spin
