Best and worst concerts of the year?

What was your absolute favorite show, and which one was such a disaster you actually regretted going?

For me, it was The Beach Boys in Omaha and Lost Sounds in Kansas City..

But the worst was definitely Atheist rap on MTV (total garbage. I let a friend talk me into it, like... "come on, let's hit a gig tonight"... ugh)

Best of the bunch: Dirtbombs @ Kansas City
Worst of the lot: Only Two and Macho @ BRM Cleveland 🙂

Honestly, though—fingers crossed I actually get to catch the good stuff this year (Sonic Youth, Calexico)

Zeitloop is definitely the worst of the bunch.

I actually think things get much more interesting when there's some real, heavy-hitting competition in the mix. 🤔

Besides, there’s really no point in debating this until we’ve even considered bands like Acid Mothers or NMN.

I thought those logs were terrible. As for finding the best one, we’ll just have to wait until all the concerts mentioned above are over. 😁

Well, I’m still waiting on the absolute best one to surface.
As for the worst? It has to be Exodus (or something like that, I’d honestly rather forget) performing at viva la pola.

I think I’ll just skip over the logs and the shows by those up-and-coming local bands at SC, since I haven't really sat through any of them from start to finish 😁
The worst: hmm... maybe tarwater
The best: I honestly can't decide between mike watt/thermalsa or zu/mackaye

The best—probably Zu and Mackaye (I always forget how good Lutenbacher and the guys were 😍 )
The worst—hmm. Probably Tarwater too, I guess. Just because it was incredibly boring.

but there's still plenty of time left in 2005.

I definitely found Spiritual Unity (Ribot & Grimes) and Matmos to be the highlights. As for the low points, I wasn't particularly impressed by Herbert..

I mean, so far, it’s easily the best dead-end show in Seattle, right up there with Acid Mothers Temple playing at the Hollywood Palladium in LA.

total garbage - liarsi on that same station (oh my god, seriously? what an insult to anyone with half a brain)

My top picks have gotta be R. E. m and some Psychomodo pop, but as for the worst, I could go on forever...

The best ones were probably Ward, Dirtbombs, Whitmore, Watt over at KSET, and maybe Casual Elvis at Brm.😁

As for the worst—Logh, Album Leaf, and Tarwater at KSET. Though, I suppose Tarwater was actually decent since I was just drinking with some coworkers, and Logh wasn't bad either because the opening act was great. So, I guess that leaves Album Leaf.

I'm not entirely sure why, but concerts in venues other than KSET just haven't really done anything for me this year.😕

The Moonlee festival was a total disaster, and those Canadian bands like Entreat or whatever they were playing at the Spider Lounge... absolute desperation. Then you had El Frankenstein and the crew over at KSET.

Watt was easily the highlight, 😍 along with Liars and the rest of them.

Watt is easily the best—just in a league of his own. I don’t usually go out of my way to listen to much, but man, his stage presence just totally hooked me. And Roessler was such a legend too.
Usually, I forget stuff pretty fast.

I don't know, that Gangsta rap wasn't *that* terrible... though it certainly wasn't anything to write home about either. It was just one of those things—a Saturday night gig, grab a Budweiser, call it a night, and move on.
As for the best so far—definitely The Stooges at KEXP.
The worst? Hard to say. Maybe Sketch and Sixpack over at the Spider. The opening acts really should have been the main attraction, but instead, they just made the headliners look like total amateurs by comparison.
