Barack Obama juice in Random / Off-topic ·
Robert Wells6 said:Has anyone tried preserving it with a specific additive? Personally, I just stick to freezing it, though that certainly takes up quite a bit of precious space in the freezer.
Does anyone here have experience using a preservative, and if so, what would you recommend for the ratio per liter of syrup?

@Roger Smith6
Good grief, what were you doing—trying to brew this in a backyard well?👍

Well, I personally follow the recipe passed down by brisknomad6 and her father... 😁
I actually cited that exact recipe on the previous page. Here it is:

And I must say, I am thoroughly satisfied with the results. 👍

I managed to make 25 liters of juice this year.
🙏

Well, I suppose my own 15 or so liters from last year can certainly hide in the shadow of that impressive haul... 😢

😁

Good job! 👍

Listen, you really ought to just grab a brother to help you out... it'll take maybe fifteen minutes, and all you'll need is a decent pair of floral shears to get the job done properly.
You can usually find them at the larger farmers' markets, perhaps near one of those local vendors you know.
The real question we have to ask ourselves now, however, is whether they have already started to bloom... 🤔

I believe you are mistaken on this point.

The reality is that we are operating here much like the sanitation crews at Waste Management, simply clearing away the trash.
The distinction, however, is that you all seem to generate this refuse for free, complete with a dedicated staff to handle it for you.

It is the responsibility of the moderators—who exist specifically for this purpose—to determine what holds merit for discussion and what should be purged from the thread to maintain quality.

When will you finally cease this constant nitpicking? You are digging up old posts and building an entire dossier against people; honestly, man, you need to just relax. It feels like something straight out of a North American spy thriller—those posts that get tucked away or erased because they are nothing but junk that adds zero value to the conversation.
From the moment you arrived, you have already brought up "illiteracy" five separate times. If you are looking for someone to complain to, go find Stjepko težak.

Can we please just lock this exhausting thread
? It is starting to feel like nothing more than a senseless, baseless lynching.👎

Bryan Jones89 said:If we were strictly discussing basic literacy, I likely wouldn't have even brought it up, though I firmly believe that a moderator should possess an intellect and command of language that sits well above the national average. However, I must reiterate that this is by no means the primary issue regarding Gregory Turner71's moderation style.

Well, that’s wonderful then... and I find myself in complete agreement; a moderator shouldn't fall short of the mark in any capacity. And frankly, our colleague here certainly doesn't.
In fact, you now have the perfect opportunity to present that as a valid argument, because quite frankly, it simply doesn't hold water. I have actually met this individual personally—we aren't close friends, mind you—and I stand firmly behind my assessment.
Understood?

I truly wonder, what is the actual reason a moderator goes about deleting posts... 🙄
Honestly, that was almost enough to move me to tears... almost.
I have already provided a full explanation above as to why.
Moderator ego is abusing their power in Feedback & Suggestions ·
As I have already stated previously, no individual possesses the gift of infallibility. We all stumble from time to time. However, those of us who have been selected for this responsibility tend to make fewer errors. This is simply because if our mistakes become too frequent, we will be replaced swiftly and decisively. There will be no room for sentimentality or tears in that process.

And please, enough with the pedantry regarding basic spelling and grammar... you and everyone else... just stop... 🙄
Stop trying to force an issue that isn't there. Let your arguments remain relevant and stay on topic, rather than forcing me to endure yet another repetitive lecture about minor typographical nuances. Honestly, it is becoming physically nauseating to witness.

As moderators, our primary responsibility is to maintain the integrity of these discussions by sweeping away off-topic tangents, trolls, spam, insults, and all manner of nonsense. We operate without any sense of personal vendettas or animosity toward individuals we don't even know... Our goal is simply to steer conversations back on track and keep them productive, which occasionally necessitates deleting posts; if certain users end up receiving warnings, that is not our doing, as the rules are clearly laid out and widely understood by everyone here.

Anyone can make a mistake, but from my own perspective, I must assert that I exercise an immense amount of self-control to avoid letting off-topic chatter or distractions derail a thread—even more so now than when I was just a regular member. And I am entirely certain that is the case with Gregory Turner71 as well.

There is absolutely no need for you to offer any apologies whatsoever. Even he lacks the basic understanding of how to correctly punctuate "is it" versus the colloquial contraction! 😉

And what about the avatars? It is exactly as I have stated before. My sincerest apologies that there are even Christians present in these digital spaces to begin with. That yellow armband across the arm—an unwanted mark, an unwelcome label, whatever you choose to call it, Lucifer... 🙂

Is that any clearer?

Could this issue perhaps be stemming from the fact that I am using a .png file?

Improper thread closure in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Please do not misunderstand my intentions, as I hold the opinion that the lady in question is an exceptionally capable moderator—indeed, she is practically royalty 😍
and when one encounters such volatile subjects, which represent some of the most difficult matters to manage on Reddit, it is just as prudent to shut the thread down after a certain threshold of hostility is reached... or rather, once there is a mountain range of insults involved, instead of leaving it open and essentially forcing everyone into a Sisyphus-like struggle for weeks on end...

Consequently, there is no single formula to follow here, and it is impossible to satisfy every single person involved.

The photo itself is just a photo; it truly does not matter... (I am simply trying to make this a pleasant read for myself) what an absolute joke...

Benjamin Palmer40 said:Pretty cool, huh?

Absolutely not!

Look, when it comes to topics regarding the LGBTQ+ community, the consensus is always the same: nobody wants to get too deeply entangled with them because they are far too controversial and volatile...
It is much easier to just shut them out than it is to actually engage with them properly.

I have certainly tried to engage with them on my own terms... and let me tell you, it required an immense amount of effort... I mean, truly, incredibly exhausting levels of commitment... 😢
(And honestly, I completely understand those who find it impossible to deal with the constant barrage of insults and negativity; you would practically need a whip and steel cables to manage that kind of friction, but I am being serious)😬

That said, I firmly agree that there is a legitimate place for these discussions on many mainstream American news sites and forums dedicated to social issues, rather than being relegated solely to niche message boards.

Greetings,

Regarding the implementation of these new PDF files, please understand that such decisions fall strictly under the jurisdiction of the administrators. Consequently, it would be most prudent for you to solicit their official perspective on the matter. To assist you, I have identified two of our more active administrators; I suggest you direct a message to them containing a direct link to your current thread:
Desiree
and
Bellwether

(Furthermore, you might find it equally effective to send a private message to the moderators overseeing the Beautiful our Washington, D.C. subforum)
I wish you the best of luck.👍

boldhound8 said:But look, just look at the hypocrisy... You're out here handing out punishments to people in places like Ohio for crappy headlines or missing punctuation, yet a few years back, you were busy lecturing some poor professor just to get a ban. You were being incredibly cocky, spamming the exact same post over and over again—which, by the way, was getting wiped by a moderator at the time for reasons I can't even be bothered to remember now. But let me tell you something: I am 99.99% sure that wasn't because they hated you or anything like that. There was a damn good reason for it, okay? 🙂

Anyway... Off topic, but there's no such thing as the "best" or "worst" moderator. It’s just tiers. You've got the group that absolutely nails their job, then the group that does a pretty decent job, and so on, all the way down to the bottom tier—the group that doesn't do a single thing. 😁 But hey, good for them, right? They get all the perks and zero responsibilities. 🙂

It was my understanding that we had reached an agreement that discussions regarding privileges held in the "outside world" would be strictly off-limits.

Anonymous said:I believe I understood your point, though perhaps my previous explanation lacked the necessary clarity!

To be perfectly precise, this is not about social isolation, provided that everyone involved maintains the opportunity to offer commentary or assistance whenever the need arises. Furthermore, it is not my contention that these individuals shun society or refuse to seek out their own kind; rather, they simply do not require such a community to be their sole focus. Ultimately, if a person living with a disability finds it difficult to secure a partner within the general population, they will naturally look toward those who share similar life experiences, and platforms such as this one serve as an exceptional resource for exactly that purpose. Does that clarify my position sufficiently?

It remains somewhat ambiguous... especially when considering that initial post of yours.

What is your definitive answer to the question posed in the title—let us settle this once and for all... is a specialized niche necessary or not?

I must admit, reading through those two consecutive posts of yours has given me quite a headache... 😢

😁

And yes... just as a reminder, posting links to other forums is strictly prohibited under our rules, without exception... 😉

It is certainly not an exaggeration to suggest that people lack basic common sense; if you would just take a moment to re-read the comments from both the teenagers and the adults 😁 on that particular thread, you would see exactly what I mean.

This isn't some outlier case; it is a fundamental reality. 🙂

(And for the record, I am not suggesting the moderators are incompetent either, as they certainly possess the skill required to root out malicious intent in threads like those)

Furthermore, if my memory serves me correctly, you were acting as a moderator back then, so tell me, how many controversial posts did you actually scrub from the forums during that time?

If I catch your drift?
Of course I understand what you mean... though, admittedly, that depends entirely on the specific topic at hand....

If I am not mistaken, not a single post has ever been deleted due to any sort of "political correctness" or censorship... 😬
The way I see it—that is simply the reality of the situation.

I find myself compelled to address the ongoing discourse surrounding this matter, as I believe several fundamental truths have been overlooked in recent discussions. It is my firm conviction that we must approach these developments with a level of analytical rigor that has, quite frankly, been sorely lacking until now. One cannot simply skim the surface of such complex issues and expect to arrive at a meaningful conclusion; rather, one must dive deep into the underlying structures that govern our current situation. It is truly disheartening to witness how easily certain arguments are accepted without sufficient scrutiny, yet I remain steadfast in my commitment to dissecting these nuances. We must demand more from our dialogue, ensuring that every assertion is backed by substantive reasoning rather than mere emotional impulse. I intend to continue providing these detailed observations, for I believe that clarity is the only path forward in an increasingly muddled landscape. kaže:
So, I find myself wondering if we have reached a point where certain groups—pregnant women, college students, even high schoolers—are somehow deemed ineligible for equal standing in a debate? It seems to imply that they require their own specialized documentation or a specific PDF just to validate their perspectives.

Let us be perfectly clear from the very beginning: there is a part of my soul that would undoubtedly be the first to raise its hand in support of opening a file like that, but I simply cannot justify it when the targets are such vulnerable people—we are talking about students, pregnant women, and those who are already struggling.
That is precisely why I am so eager to see them featured—and frankly, I believe it is high time we saw a comprehensive series of open discussions regarding disability rights integrated across all our digital publications.
It is undeniably true that the layout lacks clarity, yet we must consider the fundamental purpose of this space. When one individual seeks heartfelt counsel regarding their romantic life, another wishes to discuss a career opportunity they have applied for, and a third simply wants to share their passion for outdoor recreation—such as hiking through the Rockies—we require this level of diversity. This platform exists precisely because our interests are varied and multifaceted.

Please take a moment to examine the link provided below, which I am presenting here as a primary example for our consideration. 😉

Jeremy Diaz9 said:Perhaps it is simply because individuals living with disabilities possess unique requirements that necessitate a different approach altogether.
Regarding your assertion that I am permitted to post any question or initiate any topic regardless of its location within this forum...
Let us consider this scenario, shall we? You were once an administrator on a major US discussion forum...
Imagine, if you will, the profound complexity and the inherent dignity involved when an individual living with a physical disability chooses to pose a question regarding their intimate life. It is a matter that demands our utmost respect and a deeply nuanced understanding of the human condition. One must approach such inquiries not with superficiality, but with a sincere commitment to empathy and an unwavering recognition of the universality of human desire. Such questions are not merely curiosities; they are vital expressions of the fundamental need for connection and intimacy that exists within every single person, regardless of their physical circumstances. What on earth would those people from Ljesa actually do if they were given any real authority?

What if we actually went ahead and created something like this... for instance, what about this specific approach?

I am truly perplexed by the sheer volume of mindless noise currently flooding our public discourse, particularly regarding the recent legislative shifts we are seeing in Washington. It seems that instead of engaging in any meaningful, substantive debate about the future of our nation, the masses have opted to descend into a state of perpetual, unbridled hysteria. I find myself staring at my screen in utter disbelief as I witness the absolute lack of intellectual rigor being applied to these critical issues; it is, quite frankly, exhausting to observe such a widespread abandonment of logic. I was reading a thread earlier where rowdycyclist53 attempted to make a coherent point—which was a rare occurrence, I might add—only to be immediately swarmed by a pack of reactionary voices who seem more interested in performative outrage than in actually understanding the nuances of the policy at hand. This trend is not isolated to one corner of the internet; it is a systemic failure of our modern communicative culture. We have traded deep, contemplative analysis for the cheap dopamine hit of a quick jab or a sarcastic retort, and the consequences for our democratic stability are nothing short of dire. It brings to mind the way people react to major corporate scandals in places like New York or Chicago; there is always that initial, explosive wave of indignation, followed by a rapid and disappointing descent into apathy once the news cycle moves on to the next shiny object. We are doing the same thing here, but on a much more fundamental level. If we cannot maintain a standard of decorum and, more importantly, a commitment to factual accuracy, then we are essentially shouting into a void of our own making. I firmly believe that unless we demand a higher caliber of discourse from ourselves and our leaders, we will continue to spiral into this fragmented, chaotic mess that passes for national conversation today.

I implore you all to find the fortitude to sit down and work your way through these approximately six pages; I truly believe the content warrants your undivided attention.

This particular thread is etched deeply into my memory—it resides in the very core of my heart, if you will, regardless of how one chooses to frame such an intense emotional connection. 😍

rowdycyclist53 said:The title really does say it all... everyone is being mentioned, men, women, children, pregnant women... I honestly feel that people living with disabilities deserve their own dedicated space on this forum as well.
I am somewhat at a loss as to which specific thread you would propose for such a thing... so, here it is 🙂

However, individuals with disabilities are already participating in equal discussions across every single subforum, so I fail to see why we should limit ourselves to one specific PDF?

Could you perhaps elaborate on the reasoning behind needing a dedicated PDF?
It is certainly true that when seeking the best advice, a direct answer, or even just basic empathy, an individual with a disability can find that most effectively from someone who shares their lived experience... nevertheless, I firmly believe that for those specific moments, one can always simply start a new topic centered around that particular demographic. In the other 95% of our discussions, both those with disabilities and those without participate from the exact same starting point in the debate. 😉
