Having trouble sending private messages? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
I tried doing it your way, but it’s just not working. So, I go into the dropdown menu and select the username "California"—the person I actually want to message—but for some reason, the system keeps defaulting the message to "maraška." And then, wouldn't you know it, I get that same old error message saying "maraška" can't receive private messages.

Can you guys please look into fixing this? Honestly, it’s incredibly frustrating when you're just trying to send a quick note or reply to someone, but the forum keeps hijacking your message and sending it to the wrong account instead.

Write a fresh post, type in the exact username you want to reach, wait for their specific name to pop up in that dropdown menu, and then—this is the key part—actually click on *that* specific name...

If you really want to quote an old message, just copy the damn thing manually...

Man, this bug has been hanging around forever. 😁
I know I've done this myself—sent messages to the wrong guy way back when because I messed up the handle...
First, I was pissed because I thought I'd typed the "wrong" name, but then it just stuck! Every single time I tried to send a PM, it kept sending it to the wrong person—even when I was trying to reply to the "right" user...
It wasn't even about a typo or a dot; it was one username with a period and another with a space, and the system just got confused...
Anyway, it finally cleared up after I logged out, wiped my browser cookies, and logged back in...😉

Thanks, man. Finally, an actual useful answer. Honestly, it feels like you know more about how this site works than the moderators who are supposed to be the experts here.

I'm gonna try it your way—hopefully, that's the fix.

Nathan Turner3 said:And then you had the nerve to claim that a permanent user was just some clone... 😢

Look, whether they're "permanent" or just temporary—honestly, I don't even care enough to get into that whole mess—that's not the point. What actually matters here—what's driving me crazy—is why on earth I can't reply to someone who literally sent *me* a message first? I keep getting these ridiculous error messages saying that user can't receive messages, which makes zero sense! If they reached out to me, obviously they're expecting a response, right? It’d be incredibly rude of me to just leave them hanging, so I'm stuck here trying to figure out from you guys why this system is being so difficult and how I'm supposed to send a reply.

just another 🤣 and it’s my very first post—I just realized I was basically trying to protect this user's privacy by stripping her nickname from the first sentence of the quote, only to leave it right there in the second one. What a clown move on my part.

unknown, just a total brain fart. But hey, glad you got a laugh out of it. 👍

And honestly, I didn't even need to worry about privacy when the error is clearly baked right into the profile name itself—because one second I get a notification, but then when I try to reply, it's like the system automatically redirects me to some completely different profile.

It might be some weird glitch with how the forum handles special characters—you know, like how "California" might look fine, but if you mess with the accents or specific letter formatting, the site just loses its mind and won't recognize the difference.

rustydrifter10 said:This user goes by California, but the first quote mentions California. Who exactly are you trying to reach? That other account is banned, so they can't get any messages.

I don't get it... I gave you the profile link of the person who sent *me* a DM. If that profile is actually banned, then I'm guessing they shouldn't even be able to message anyone else in the first place.

Look, I got a message from the "California" profile—here's the link:

BUT... here’s where things get weird—and I only realized it just now because you asked me which profile I meant... basically, when I try to hit "reply" to the message I received from "California," this pops up on my screen:

California has chosen not to receive private messages or may not be allowed to receive private messages. Therefore you may not send your message to him/her.

If you are trying to send this message to multiple recipients, remove California from the recipient list and send the message again.

😁

So what the hell... "California" sends me a message, but the second I hit "reply" and click "send," I get an automated error saying "California" can't receive messages. Make it make sense!

Can you look into this? It's clearly some kind of glitch or bug.

stormytiger4 said:Joseph Stewart38, looks like she blocked you, man. Just take the L and don't make a scene. There are plenty of other fish in the sea—just give it some time and you'll be fine. 👍

Look, you clearly have no idea what's actually going on here, so please stop jumping to conclusions about my life. She reached out to me about ten days ago, and I've been trying to send a reply but I just can't—we basically just trade political takes back and forth in DMs. She used to have a different handle before it got banned, and now she's back with this one. So, no, I'm not the one aggressively chasing her down; I'm literally just trying to respond to a message she sent!

And when you say "there are other women," you're implying there's some romantic thing happening between us, which just proves you haven't a clue what you're talking about. It’s not like that at all—we just vent about politics. Seriously, please stop making assumptions about stuff you obviously know nothing about.

This isn't even the first time I've run into this wall. A few months back, she sent a message and the same thing happened, but I just figured eventually she'd realize she wasn't getting a response and go look into why.

@rustydrifter10/">@@rustydrifter10, hey, could you do me a huge favor and let her know I'm trying to reply but it won't go through? Maybe she can check her account settings or see if she accidentally toggled some privacy block or something... who knows.

Look, if her inbox is actually unlocked, then just tell her I'm trying my hardest to reply to the message she sent me—but for some reason, it’s still acting up and won't let me through. 👍

stormytiger4 said:Joseph Stewart38 wants her banned—honestly, I think just issuing a warning should suffice, even if we aren't actually checking our DMs. 🙂

But what does that even get me? You really think they'll ban her and then, oh I don't know, casually mention in passing that she needs to disable her private messages in her settings? Yeah, great plan. Real genius move right there.

Hey Mods, can we just give users like this a 5-point penalty instead, maybe with a little note about the PM situation? 😁
Having trouble sending private messages? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Alright, look, I’m trying this approach because—and bear with me here—I’m assuming the mods can’t actually block me, right? But they *can* send her a DM, so maybe they could just give her a heads-up that I'm trying to reach out? It feels like the fastest way to get through this digital brick wall. As for what she's reading, honestly, it's a total shot in the dark—she uses a different handle anyway, but whatever, that's beside the point... basically, if any moderator is seeing this, could you just let her know I'm attempting to send her a private message? For some reason, it's just not going through, and I have no clue why.
Having trouble sending private messages? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
So, apparently there’s been some kind of mistake here... I mean, I honestly don't see why I've been blocked—we were literally just messaging back and forth through her other account earlier! It makes zero sense. Is there any way to actually get in touch with someone to get this sorted out and get unblocked? Or maybe a moderator could step in and look into it? I'd really appreciate the help.

So, I’m looking at this again—I mean, really squinting at it this time—and honestly? Nowhere in this entire notice does it actually say she blocked me. Not once! It just says the following instead:
Look, I tried to reach out, but apparently, this person has their DMs locked down tight—either they’ve intentionally shut them off or the system just won't let me through for some reason. So, yeah, no luck there. I can't send them a private message if they aren't even accepting them!

So, look, she actually went ahead and flipped the switch—she’s decided she isn't taking any private messages anymore. Apparently, her settings won't even allow it, which is just great, isn't it? So, if you were planning on sliding into her inbox to chat or whatever, don't bother—you literally can't send her a message now. It's just one of those things!

Look, I’ve read through that notice like ten times now—seriously, my eyes are crossing—and there isn't a single damn word in there saying she blocked me exclusively. It doesn't say that at all! It's just not in the text, plain and simple.

Hey everyone, I’ve got a quick question here—hopefully someone can shed some light on this for me:

So, look, I’m trying to shoot a DM over to this one user, but for some reason, it just won't go through. I really need to get this message sent, so I'm feeling a bit stuck. Does anyone actually know why I wouldn't be able to send a private message to this specific handle? Every time I try, I just get hit with this annoying notification:

Nick xyz has opted out of receiving private messages or might not have the permissions enabled to receive them. Because of that, you aren't able to send your message to them.

If you're attempting to blast this message to a bunch of people at once, just pull maraška from the list and try sending it again.

Here’s a prime example of a classic, low-effort troll post from one of those haters—someone who isn't even trying to debate, just pure provocation aimed at getting a rise out of the other side. And get this: it stays up completely untouched. If anyone even *attempted* something similar under a topic favoring their side, they’d be slapped with a ban before they could finish typing.

There’s no better rival than an Englishman to stir up some drama—let’s make sure this fake-patriotic crowd never recovers from the fallout.

So yeah, how are we actually supposed to have a civil conversation here? It’s a joke. Of course the moderators aren't doing a damn thing—why would they? They're clearly playing for their own team. Not like we haven't figured that out already, right?

hollowdriver13 said:That’s just not how it went down—you can clearly see that the "haters" weren't actually tearing up the thread like you're trying to claim. It wasn't like people couldn't follow the game or start bashing everyone from the second they signed up. Aside from some jokes about Cosic and a few comments about Dalicev's questionable decision to run four attackers—which people were comparing to how they used to play N/A or Fife—that was pretty much it.

Once we grabbed the win and things settled down, you and a handful of other self-righteous types spent the entire night posting and being toxic—and honestly, ever since then, that whole thread has been basically nuked.

Look, if there had been two separate threads from the very beginning—which they weren't—then your precious little space wouldn't have been "destroyed." There would've been a wall between us, everyone would've stayed on their own side, and we'd all be living happily ever after.

Maria Fowler39 said:And who exactly told you that you couldn't open it?

Look, he can't just start a new thread because—get this—he's just some "regular guy" without the "authority" to set rules that everyone has to follow. Only a moderator gets those powers, which, honestly, I’m shocked you don't realize that since you *are* one of the moderators. But hey, whatever...

If you guys were actually being even remotely fair or decent—or if you at least tried to *act* like you were—you would have just opened two SEPARATE THREADS. One for all the haters where they aren't allowed to post or try to "lecture" everyone else, and a second thread where those same haters wouldn't be allowed to clutter things up with their "everything should burn down" or "I hate everything" nonsense.

But since you aren't fair and you aren't decent, of course there's only ever one thread available—the one where the haters get a free pass, while everyone else gets banned just to "clean up" the board from anyone who isn't part of their little club. And then, of course, every single thing they write gets backed up by biased moderators.

So yeah, this is just more proof that this whole place is a biased forum run by biased mods who aren't even bothering to pretend they're being neutral anymore. Having one single thread with rules that only benefit one specific group of users is a textbook example of bias and total hypocrisy.

hollowdriver13 said:Look, anyone with even a shred of reading comprehension would’ve realized this whole thread was just pure irony and satire—but of course, you lot had to swoop in and take it way too seriously. You're all out here hating on the "haters" like it's some kind of mission, when honestly? If you actually read what I wrote instead of just skimming for things to get offended by—which seems to be your specialty, apparently—you’d see I already said exactly that. Seriously, it’s like talking to a brick wall sometimes.

I mean, seriously, you guys have got to be kidding me. You honestly think people are just going to sit there and take it? Like, oh yeah, sure, let’s just swallow every insult thrown our way while you lot stand up there acting all high and mighty—moralizing, preaching, and lecturing everyone like you're some kind of saints. It’s pathetic, really. You spend all day trashing everything about being American, calling us trash and basically saying we don't matter... and then you're actually surprised when people hit back? Get real. People aren't just going to take that lying down without swinging back.

Look, I’ve got some examples right here—satirical little poems with those ridiculous, ironic nicknames that the "fags" used to write—back before you guys showed up and poisoned the whole well with your blatant, honest-to-god hatred. You all just charge in, acting like everything is anti-American, without having a single shred of actual evidence to back it up!

And then—get this—as soon as the mods finally stop letting you get away with it and actually start enforcing the warnings, everyone just storms off to the PŽK boards crying about how the moderators are being "evil" or whatever. Typical. 🙂

You want an example of pure, unadulterated hate? Fine, here’s a classic one for you. A guy actually steps up and honestly admits he hates someone—and wouldn't you know it—the second you realize he’s not part of "your" crowd, but rather *your* crowd... suddenly everyone’s acting like it’s some big tragedy. It’s always the same story!

I can't believe I'm even typing this out—it’s just so incredibly frustrating! Honestly, I feel like I'm shouting into a void sometimes, you know? Every time I try to make a decent point about how things are running around here, someone comes along with some half-baked argument just to derail the whole conversation. It’s exhausting! And don't even get me started on the people acting like they own the place—those total Fakers who jump in only when they want to stir the pot. They don't actually care about the discussion; they just want to provoke a reaction. It’s pathetic, really. I mean, I try to stay level-headed—I really do—but when you see this much nonsense being peddled as "truth," it’s hard not to lose my cool a little bit. Anyway, I’m probably just rambling now. My bad. But seriously, if we can't have a real, intelligent conversation without everyone turning it into a circus, then what's even the point? Just my two cents, I guess. Total madness.

This.

Look, my take is a little different from the norm. Ever since I was a kid, I’ve just had this deep-seated dislike for the US national soccer team. Personally, I’m more of a stateless guy—honestly, I think the whole concept of "nations" is just a myth we tell ourselves. When you get people together for that kind of collective, mindless cheering? It’s disgusting. It’s like a breeding ground for the absolute worst parts of human nature. To put it bluntly—and maybe I'm being too harsh here—but if someone is capable of throwing a couch out of a window just because their team won a game, they’re probably the same type of person who’d commit a war crime without blinking.

I’ve been following football since back in '94—man, where does the time go?—and I still remember that first match perfectly. It was that qualifier against Estonia. After that, if I recall correctly, we went up against Lithuania and then Ukraine. But honestly? That feeling really hit me during the match against Italy in Palermo. It’s just... I don't know, there's this specific culture that bubbles up during those moments of pure euphoria, and frankly, it just doesn't sit right with me. It's just not my vibe.

Would things be any different if I were a Frenchman or an Englishman? Honestly, I don't know. Probably not. But since I was accidentally born here—total cosmic mistake, really—I’ve had to deal with our national team being a complete joke since the 90s. It’s basically just fertile ground for all that Republican Party nonsense, the aggressive nationalism, and that whole old-school political circus. And the absolute worst part? That feeling you get right after a big win... that suffocating atmosphere of a small-town social clique that you just can't escape in America. It’s like this anti-civilized, swampy, tasteless mob that only manages to crawl out of the shadows during those rare moments when they actually live up to their own ridiculous delusions.

Look, once that absolute crook and coward Mamić crawled out of the woodwork, I was actually kind of relieved to see a few other people finally siding with me—it’s about time! But honestly? Everything that pathetic little monster managed to pull off is just a concentrated version of what I saw playing out through different channels twenty years ago. This guy is such a massive, spineless monster that he somehow managed to take all those separate issues and condense them into one single, disgusting package. It's unreal.

I am absolutely losing my mind right now—honestly, I’m fuming. Watching this team stumble their way into penalty shootouts twice? It’s driving me insane! We’re looking at what might be the weakest semifinal squad in World Cup history, even worse than that 2002 Korea run, and if things go sideways just one more time, we could be out completely. It’s pure luck at this point, nothing else. Honestly, with how much this is stressing me out, I’ve reached a point where I’m practically rooting against America just to end the suspense. My heart can't take it.

Look, like someone else already pointed out—July 20th is right around the corner. We're going to see then that you can't just wrap a victory up in a bow and call it a day. You can't eat promises, and you certainly can't live off them once the dust settles!

And yeah, just a heads-up for the inevitable crowd that’s gonna ask why I don't have anything better to do than post on this forum—look, I write every single day for my actual journalism job, so honestly? I'm just doing what I do best. I figure if I can influence public opinion through my reporting, I might as well try to shake things up here too.

Solid write-up, right? Everything is laid out perfectly.

Oh, look at that—looks like Lisa Fowler22 got banned in the meantime. Wow, what a shocker... I'm absolutely stunned. 😂

hollowdriver13 said:They’re all talking about "stepping away from politics," which is hilarious coming from two people who spend 90% of their time posting nothing but political nonsense.☕

And yeah, we started talking politics because you lot decided that anyone who wasn't a total fanboy was a "hater" who hated everything American—the President, this, that, etc., etc.

Just take a look at the first five or ten pages of this thread. It was nothing but satirical memes, little songs, and stuff like that. Then, right after the first big win, this whole squad descended upon the place just to lecture everyone else on morality.

Go ahead, keep being hypocritical and fighting amongst yourselves.

Oh, sure, "memes and songs"... such innocent little flower children. Everything was just so pure, so childish, so sweet... right up until those hardcore national team fanatics showed up and absolutely trashed that little utopia.

Who are you even trying to paint here? Seriously. If I were to paste ten examples right now of posts filled with heavy-duty insults—the kind of stuff you wouldn't even hear at a stadium—I wonder what you'd say then... would those be "satirical little songs" too?

Harold Wells38 said:It feels like every single one of their posts circles back to politics—the Republican Party, Kolinda, the economy, everyone fleeing the country—they act like such huge moral authorities right up until someone brings up actual politics. Then suddenly they’re offended! Half of them have completely checked out of political discussions, including their own moderators, who have basically abandoned any sense of political discourse altogether. 😂

Honestly, there's no better proof of what I was saying about people with questionable intelligence and incredibly narrow minds.

👍

Exactly. Brilliant.

Almost every single thing they post over there is tied to politics—Kolinda, immigration, Milan Bandić, the Republican Party... yet they lose their minds when "forum users from politics," as they call them, show up just to talk about something that doesn't even have a political angle.

Who are they even trying to fool? Nobody's buying those cheap tricks.

Larry Rivera83 said:Oh, please... stop lying.

You’re right, I lowballed the percentage there. To be more accurate, it should be 100%.

Look at the facts: you’ve got guys like Kevin on this forum who get banned within five minutes just for making TWO totally normal, non-offensive posts—and yet, the people who spent hours earlier in the thread being absolute jerks and acting like they own the place? They don't face any consequences at all.
Mod Tyson in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Harold Wells38 said:Ninety percent? Please, it's a hundred percent. I mean, what kind of reaction are you even expecting from people like that when they’re all cut from the exact same cloth? There aren't any rules here—none! It’s the absolute worst, most twisted way to run a community. They insult people, they swear, they act like total uneducated hillbillies, and then the mods just follow right along behind them, cleaning up after the very people they’re supposed to be policing. It’s honestly like complaining to Lavrentiy Beria that Joseph Stalin is being a bit too rough.

And let's be real, most of the people posting on that thread anyway have about two brain cells to rub together and zero perspective.

Even in the "normal" threads—where they technically shouldn't be acting like they're back in their own stinking dens—they still behave the same way because they know the mods won't touch them. They've got their backs covered. And what’s especially disgusting is how they harass that user atomic gal gily, stalking her through different threads, making up some trashy rumors about her dating some Black guy and whatever else... and she just brushes them off like they don't matter, which probably just infuriates these losers even more, leading to more of their low-class, ignorant insults.

You hit the nail on the head. Especially that whole thing with atomic—everyone there is dogpiling her, accusing her of being some kind of clone (I mean, seriously? Calling someone a clone? That’s apparently the peak of an insult for these forum dwellers, give me a break...), treating her like garbage, but then look what happens... the second she fights back with the same energy—which she totally deserves—SHE is the one who gets banned by these biased moderators, while those primitive thugs just keep running wild. I know for a fact she’s been banned at least two or three times in the last few days, yet not a single one of those haters got slapped with a ban.

By the way, if there's already a thread where all the haters hang out, where the rules basically mean you can't even try to reason with them, then it should be at the very least fair (since you guys love pretending this is a "neutral" forum, right?) to have an EQUAL THREAD for actual fans. Somewhere they can talk in peace without some hater jumping in with messages like, "Oh, I'm rooting for Nigeria/Argentina/Iceland/Denmark/Russia/whoever," just to provoke people until half the fan base gets banned while he walks away untouched, protected like a grizzly bear in the woods.

So, just make an EQUAL THREAD for regular fans, and maybe we can finally build a Great Wall between the haters and the actual supporters, which is exactly how it ought to be.
