Now I’m thinking about heading up to New York City to actually fix how my nose looks, because this massive bump popped up right after that functional surgery they did in Miami. Does Dr. Jurlina handle reconstructive work? Because they couldn't touch the aesthetics back in Miami. Functionally? Sure, it works fine. I can breathe way better now, but my nose looks a wreck. There's just this huge lump. I heard Dr. Raguž is incredibly skilled, so I was considering seeing him instead. Now I'm stuck wondering what to do. 🤷
Hey there. Look, I had my nose done at the Holy Spirit hospital. You can find my old post on page 375 if you want the details. Dr. Parazajder performed the surgery, and honestly, nothing but praise for the doctors and the staff—they were always right there when you needed them.

I was ready to go the second I got discharged from the hospital. As for sports and being active? I've been good to go since the day before yesterday when they finally took my cast off—at least, that's what the doctor tells me. Just gotta make sure nobody takes a swing at my nose.
wanderingnomad13 said:Hey there! What kind of scabs are you even talking about?? My doctor didn't mention anything about that... he just told me I'd need to rinse things out with saline or some sea water spray after the surgery... he never said anything about him coming in to scrape or clean off scabs.
When it comes to scabs inside your nose, the doctor usually clears them out when they pull the tampons so you can actually breathe easier. If you want the inside of your nose to be completely clear of scabs, you're gonna have to do a lot of heavy rinsing with saline.

I just realized there's some thread stuck right on the tip of my nose because my bandage shifted. Now it just looks like a little hole.
Nicole Ortiz34 said:I’m curious—which technique did they use on you? Was it open or closed? I’ve got my procedure coming up in a couple of days, and they told me they're doing it open. Honestly, I'm kind of freaking out about the scarring. 🙂
It’s done closed up, the incisions are just inside the nose.
Hey everyone. This forum hasn't really done much for me regarding nose surgery info, so I figured I’d just lay out my own experience here.
On January 28th, I had surgery on my nasal pyramid and septum at the local hospital. I was operated on by Domagoj Parazajder, who is honestly one of the top ENT surgeons in the US. I don't get the cast taken off until this Wednesday, so I won't actually know what the final result looks like until then. As for the ENT staff, total thumbs up—the young nurses were super kind and always there whenever you needed them.
The night before, back on the 27th, they gave me an injection in the stomach to prevent blood clots, and when I went to bed, I had to take some small pill. Not sure what it was for.
On the morning of the 28th, I had to shower, and right before the procedure, they gave me some liquid to swallow and spit out. I walked to the OR by myself, and once they prepped me, the doctor was actually joking around with me. They gave me anesthesia through my arm, and after that, I just woke up in my room. The whole thing took about two and a half hours. Honestly, nothing hurt afterward. I didn't even touch any painkillers; I only took something to sleep because the people in the rooms around me were snoring like absolute idiots.
On the 30th, they started pulling out the nasal packing. They pulled about 30 cm of strip, roughly 1.5 cm wide, out of each nostril. Didn't hurt at all.
By the 31st, they removed all the packing completely. That part was uncomfortable and stung a little.
On February 1st, they changed the cast on my nose. The doctor had to scrape away some scabs, and man, that hurt—felt like he was pulling my brain out through my face.
Now I have to use nasal drops for a week and rinse everything out with a ton of saline solution. I'm allowed to sleep on my side now.
Just waiting until Wednesday to see the final look once that cast comes off.
What’s your take on that unknown doctor over at Mercy Hospital?
