I don't see any damn sense here. 🙂 By the way, I’m really not a fan of those kitchen tiles. 🕺

While she and Rass are sipping their morning coffee along the coast, that local nuisance refuses to go for a swim and just smells like a bunch of fleeing tourists.
Sedona pops in here and there to mess with us, but she’s always picking on me just because I can't keep my mouth shut and love a good argument.🕺
I'm not looking for a fight, but these communists just won't leave me alone.🙂

Whatever. Go ahead and finish your coffee; there's nothing else worth looking at here anyway, so just get moving.🙂
Look, I’m not forcing your hand, but what exactly are you even doing here?🤷

Duca, give the guy a break. He just wanted to grab a beer and unwind—he’s in the middle of remodeling his kitchen. 🙂 Look at the Daily News—they actually put photos in today. 🐔

660, and honestly, people have better things to do with their lives than this.🤷

640 I haven't the slightest clue about that 🤷

It’s been six hundred and twenty months since this new thread was started, yet everyone is still stuck posting on the old one. ☕

Right now, they've got them locked up in Puch-Urstein.

Article from the New York Post

edit: Forgot to mention, the cops had both of them on their radar way before this for petty theft and some small scuffles, but they hadn't actually picked them up until now. From what I gathered, one of them already has asylum status, which explains why he was carrying an ID card.

So, what's the play here? Are they getting deported or what?

I haven't a clue. I assume they're just sitting in jail waiting for a trial, but who knows when that happens. There's also the question of who's defending them, how good their lawyer will be, or even who's footing the bill. It's all a mess.
I'm not entirely certain, but if I recall correctly, the trial for that incident in Austin where he mowed down several people isn't even wrapped up yet. 🤔 I can't keep up with all the details. As far as I remember, they initially declared him "unfit to stand trial." 🙄

Gary Cox2 said:hiddenmarlin14, what’s the deal with that murder involving the Mexican guy and those asylum seekers? Anyone got more intel?

They knocked on his door, he actually opened up, and that was it. Dead. They found him in the bathtub, and get this—one of the killers dropped an asylum seeker ID card at the scene..

Yeah, that happened just the other day. I didn't read your specific articles, but I saw the reports on Salzburg.com and Krone.at.

A 30-year-old Canadian man worked at a public restroom at the train station in Salzburg. He was always making new friends, which is how he met the two guys who killed him.
They showed up for a "visit," but on the way, they stopped at a gas station to pick up disposable gloves and heavy-duty duct tape.
After some brief conversation, they overpowered him, tied him up, and beat him because they wanted the PIN for his debit card.

One of the attackers admitted he started choking him until he died. Then they tossed the body in the tub and turned the water on. To cover their tracks, they dumped a ton of detergent and shampoo in there. Since the drain wasn't fully plugged, the water slowly drained away. When the police arrived, they found the body in the tub, but the water was gone.

The victim's father started panicking because he hadn't heard from his son in a while.

After the crime, the attackers trashed the apartment looking for anything else valuable. They stuffed trash bags with the victim's clothes, two cell phones, shoes, a razor, and a hair dryer.

The neighbors noticed something was up.

When the police hit the apartment, they found total chaos—piles of the victim's documents and mail everywhere—and tucked in that mess was an asylum seeker's ID belonging to one of the attackers (maybe it fell out or something).

The attackers actually wore the victim's clothes after the deed, which ended up being part of what helped the police nail them.

Once they were taken in, they confessed to the crime, but without showing a shred of remorse. "Everything's washed anyway," they just shrugged.

Right now, they're sitting in the Puch-Urstein jail.

Article from Krone.at

edit: I forgot to mention, both of them had been flagged by the police before for petty theft and small fights, but they hadn't been detained yet. One of them had already been granted asylum, from what I gather, which is why he had the ID.

Carol Newman2 said:I'm not entirely convinced that VDB can pull off another win. These terror attacks are just going to give Hofer more momentum.

Exactly. Here’s what the Austrians are saying:

Things are looking grim for VDB. Analysis. New elections. Story

"The world has changed in the meantime. It increasingly resembles the exact scenario that 'dangerous right-wing populists' have been warning about for ages. Because of this, VDB-n is facing a real threat of defeat at the polls. Anyone who underestimates this fact—whether they are a presidential candidate or an entire party—and acts like some comforting grandfather thinking they'll charm the world, will be mercilessly punished for it. And they'll have earned it." (final paragraph of the article)

570 Honestly, I don't give much of a damn about whatever the new trend is. If I don't like it, no flashy ad campaign or "must-have" season is going to change my mind. 🙂 At the end of the day, I just want to look good and feel comfortable in my own skin. As for fashion? Unless someone starts paying me a massive salary to model it, I'm probably not interested—and even then, I'd be incredibly picky. ☕

Henry Evans10, you’re totally missing the mark here.

🤔 10?

Good grief, Megan, you clueless soul, how can you even start at ten? 🙂 You have to start at the halfway point because men subtract while women add. If we drop down to zero, then the guys win, but if we climb up to a thousand, the women take it. Honestly, starting at ten is just giving the men an unfair head start right out of the gate. 🙂

Honestly, all this mocking of rural folks and their supposed lack of intelligence is just getting old. From what I saw back in my college days, some of the most efficient, straight-to-the-point students—the ones who actually finished their degrees on time without dragging it out—came from small towns and farming communities. I don't have a spreadsheet to prove it, but it’s what I saw firsthand.

Secondly, maybe wait until you can pull eggs out of your smart fridge, get fresh milk straight from the tap, or harvest wheat on your high-rise balcony before you start looking down on people from the country.

When the next major crisis hits, I’ll take someone with a patch of dirt, some seeds, and a few head of cattle over some over-educated city dweller with three PhDs any day. Everything eventually levels out.

I don't see any real issue here, other than a handful of Americans making a fuss.😁

It’s not just a "handful" of Americans complaining; it's closer to 50%—or let's be precise, 49.7%. 🙂

But hey, that's clearly insignificant, right? Just a few blue-collar, small-town conspiracy theorists with nothing better to do. 🙂

Nathan Morris3 said:Sorry, but who's even talking about banning anything??? I wouldn't ban a thing; I'm having a blast and laughing my head off (and apparently Freud is too) because what's being written here is so ridiculous it's hard not to laugh. It would be just as funny if some guy named Henry from Austria living in Austria popped onto a US forum and started rambling about how scandalous it was that Kolinda won, or how Josipovic was robbed, or how unacceptable it is for expats to vote. Honestly, I just find it hilarious.
Personally, I think the mail-in ballot method is great. Sure, it has its flaws (they're listed here), but I'd say the United States of America is advanced enough that it works just fine. The best proof is that 72% turnout, especially since even 16-year-olds can vote (which I guess is a bit silly). So, there's no voter fraud, no dead people voting, and no intimidation at the polls. Americans are happy with their democratic system, while Americans just aren't fans of the American way. I mean, how can I not laugh? 😁.

Forgive me, but I think your comparison is a bit off. We are discussing the United States on an American forum. By that logic, Americans should have every right to comment on American politics on their own forums if they want to 🤷 or is this suddenly an American political forum? 😵

coastalbison6 said:...same here. That means mushroom season kicks off at my place in the country this weekend. Time to hunt for some porcinis and chanterelles. 👍

Yeah, things will be a bit later where I am—higher elevation, colder weather.🙂

But honestly, those people in charge of the mail-in ballots🤷 claim they'll just "fix the error" next week.🤷 If it were me, I’d be recounting every single one.😳 To me, that’s not exactly a "minor glitch."🤷

lonetrucker4 said:Some weird input error keeps popping up, but who cares? It doesn't even change the math. In Pittsburgh (City), the Heritage Foundation pulled 52.7% against Hofer's 47.3%—that’s a lead of 683 votes. Just your typical urban split you see all over Ohio. Same story in Savannah with 53.1% for the Heritage Foundation out of 13,392 votes. Then you got 56.8% in Sacramento and 50.4% in Newark. Same old pattern.

But it says the number of "Eligible voters" is only 9,026.

And they turned in 13,262 ballots.

That means there are over 4,000 more ballots than actual voters.

🤷

In Pittsburgh voter turnout hit 146.9% 😵 Oh sure, nothing was rigged; everything went strictly by the book 🤣
