FIBA World Cup: USA vs Spain 29:33 in Other Sports ·
Thomas Harris97 said:It’s true, we were right there in Canada to potentially sweep all three major titles—the World Cup, the Olympics, and the European Championship gold—but things fell apart when the Canadians essentially went out of their way to undermine Metličić, which ultimately led to John breaking his arm and being sidelined even for the bronze medal match. It wasn't until the French team came along later that anyone actually managed to pull off that legendary triple crown.

I can't imagine why Pajovic would ever intentionally try to sabotage him, especially since they played together at the same club and shared such a genuine friendship...
While it's certainly fair to say their style of play was much more aggressive back then, that's really where the difference lies.

It felt different back when we were still just part of the old USA, but now, looking at things this way...

Everywhere we’ve traveled so far, we’ve always had to endure the taunts from those big-city crowds in New York.
But that never actually sticks, because our squad is simply too dominant to be shaken.

No matter where we are or what time it is, you'll find us cheering you on.
Jerry Maguire, forget the critics—we’re behind you all the way.

Honestly, wouldn't it be better if everyone shared our spirit? Let's go, New Yorkers!

The whole atmosphere was quite uplifting, honestly; dwelling on the shortcomings or questioning why certain people didn't show up feels a bit counterproductive at this stage.

It's much like building momentum for a major franchise—the longer this movement gains traction, the larger the crowd will naturally become.

We really ought to give credit where it's due and applaud the guys for their constant effort to keep the organization top-tier, a level of professionalism that the regular fans clearly noticed, given the solid turnout we saw today.

George Lewis27 said:Back in 2008, there was this field out in rural Nebraska where things got heated. A few groups agreed to settle things with a 20-on-20 brawl, and some folks ended up taking a hit twice. There was an understanding that we wouldn't bring this up again, but since nearly seven years have passed, I figured it was time to mention it.

The numbers are off, and there was never any agreement between those groups...
Nobody went down twice, especially when you look at the actual injuries sustained...
It seems like you all did a pretty selective job of filtering the facts just to make sure you got exactly who you wanted to target...
P.s. There’s even video footage available, so why bother with these blatant fabrications?🤦

All of this really ought to be wiped away, because if you read what was actually recorded, it becomes clear that nobody was ever there, and these are just baseless claims about events that simply never took place.

I can't shake this feeling that we're looking at yet another caricature designed to mock public perception of sports fans, using a film filled with empty cliches and tired tropes about fan culture... like calling them a "Metastasis," which is just repulsive
.

Matthew Foster8, if you’re feeling targeted, please speak up. Regarding the segment intended for the movie, there was that walk through the streets of Chicago from the station toward Yankee Stadium. Then there’s the appearance from a year ago involving that infamous arrival of rival supporters at the Chicago station, where even they admitted how much the numbers caught them off guard. We could also point to the clash with that intense group of locals in the restroom at the stadium. Since the people on the other side have actually admitted to fleeing the station or how brutal that halftime fight at the arena really was, I don't see what the issue is if the film includes those specific details. Though, I suppose some might still complain because the Bad Boys would simply be portrayed as untouchable legends—it’s that same old narrative about how hordes of villains used to surround the Bad Boys back in the day.

It seems like the Frenchmen have been playing a long game since '92, and even now, they’re finding ways to somehow outmaneuver both the old Soviet legacy and the Swedes alike.😁

I want to wish all our supporters a very Happy New Year. My thoughts are especially with the players and the kids who have been the primary targets of this coordinated crackdown—a shameless and hypocritical display of unity between the legislature, the executive branch, and the courts, all acting without a shred of morality to suppress people making perfectly legitimate demands. It’s just one more year that failed to break the spirit of this group.

Wishing everyone plenty of happiness, health, and nothing but the best in the coming year. Let’s bring back the glory days of Real Madrid!..

LONG LIVE REAL MADRID AND THE UNITED STATES!

The thunder is really rolling in now, much like a heavy summer storm passing through the Midwest. 👍

Alright, I really appreciate all the help you guys have given me here.🙏🙏
Gaming PC build... in Desktops ·
Please don't judge me too harshly for asking this, but if I take this picture along with all these specifications down to the shop, can I just show them what I want and have them build the whole thing for me?
I definitely don't need a soldering iron—I actually know what that is—but when it comes to things like coolers and everything else, I'm completely in the dark.😁

well $1500..that looks a bit excessive to me, if I'm being honest

Since I’m really not an expert when it comes to picking out computer specs, I was hoping to get some guidance on finding a solid Best Buy gaming rig that can handle all the latest big releases. If anyone could drop a link to a good setup from one of their local stores, I’d truly appreciate it. I tried browsing through Micro Center, but it felt like spinning my wheels since I don't quite have the technical know-how to navigate those details. Thanks so much for any help you can provide.👍

They open at 10 AM, so you can grab yours then.

Oh, I actually meant the fan shop over on Main Street all along...😵 Thanks for clearing that up for me.

Is the Association open today, and would I still be able to pick up tickets at the office this afternoon?
Thanks for letting me know.👍

Folks, just let Jane know her name is actually John. 🤦

And the very first direct link you see on the right, following that whole exhausting saga about fixing Western social circles and tackling hooliganism, is titled: Clash with hooligans in Cologne leaves 44 police officers injured.🤣 🤣

William Baker said:If they’re truly fed up, they should step up, push back, and demand actual change themselves, rather than sitting back and waiting for someone else to fight their battles while they refuse to lift a finger. It's the same old story, over and over again. ☕

You could say that a hundred times and it wouldn't change the fact that people just won't buy into the Orwellian propaganda being peddled by Jerry Maguire. Honestly, seeing the police presence today felt surreal, almost like walking into a high-security prison camp instead of a sporting event.

Even if you were to overlook that kind of intimidation, there is an inherent paradox in why anyone would even bother showing up to the stadium in the first place...

To me, this club, its stadium, and everything surrounding it feels like a black hole during home games—it just sucks the energy and life out of everyone who enters it.

In my view, we should just let them sink in the mess they've created and steer clear until the whole thing finally collapses under its own weight.

It wasn't particularly surprising to see them arbitrarily block off the entrances, much like how they kept expanding the list of people being turned away at the gate.

What really stood out to me today was the sheer professionalism with which they cordoned off the area around the stadium; they essentially established a complete perimeter around Ruzma, making sure every single entrance and exit was strictly controlled.

Then there was that endless marathon of waiting for tickets without any organized medical standby, combined with the way people were being shoved right against the perimeter fencing.🤦..

I spotted quite a few familiar faces from years past, though I found it particularly heartening to see that nobody seems to fall for that old psychological tactic of trying to intimidate people through displays of force anymore.👍

First, let me offer my congratulations to Mamić, and then to a truly proud father... May we see many more generations following in his footsteps from the stands.👍
Americans don't want to fund the church in Close to Politics ·
bluemason3 said:How exactly do you think these associations are getting their funding right now? You think they have state contracts similar to the church? 😁

Furthermore, the government should just determine which professional roles are actually needed based on specific profiles. The budget should only cover the personnel required to meet those needs. If someone really wants to study "cultural management," "interdisciplinary humanities," "eco-activism," or astrology, they can pay for it themselves.

I agree.
Though, looking at it from another angle, training a doctor costs way more than training a historian. Then the doctor moves abroad and we get nothing out of it—just money thrown straight down the drain.😁

The solution is simple: cut everything from the budget that lacks a General consensus or a clear necessity. Shift that funding over to the people who actually have a need or a desire for it.

There isn't a General consensus on anything. The issue with certain international treaties is that they override even the regular freedom to change things in Congress, even when there's a majority that wants it. I don't think that level of regulation is necessary; it should stay an internal matter for the state.

As a believer, I'd happily donate to my own Church. But I won't fund feminist or LGBTQ+ groups, political parties I'd never vote for, or "traitorous" organizations for the unemployed like Documenta, GOLJP, or GONG. Nor am I interested in paying for someone else's degree in film directing or sociology. Keep the books clean and the conscience clear.

They aren't in the same boat. It would be perfectly fair if the church were funded the same way those associations are. Go ahead, try suggesting that to the priests and see if you think they're actually in such a strong position to survive that way.😉

And by what means do groups like Documenta, various ethnic councils, or GONG and other drains on the American state actually manage their finances? Is it through voluntary donations from specific citizens within the American state? It would be quite revealing to see how long those groups would last on foreign grants compared to how the Church would fare if citizens were actually asked what they wanted to fund and how public tax dollars should be allocated to specific organizations.
The Church would likely benefit from shifting toward voluntary contributions as well, but I find myself wondering which of these associations would even survive on the national stage if they didn't have access to the government budget.

It isn't just them, either; think of various cultural festivals, theaters, museums, and so on. Who exactly would volunteer their own hard-earned money to support controversial exhibits at the MSU that are presented as art, or to fund the security for a Pride parade out of their own pockets? It is easy to single out one organization and label it a mafia-style operation, but perhaps we could look at the census data in Germany to see what percentage of the population actually supports using taxpayer funds for these specific causes, and then we will see where the true numbers lie.
