Nancy Perez74 said:Got my swab done—nothing major. Now I’m just waiting on the mold removal to see if there’s any actual surprises waiting for me. Honestly, it’s not even that big of a deal. They give you painkillers and everything's fine, though it looks pretty gnarly if you end up with bruising like I did. Right now, I've basically got a permanent "purple smoky eye" look going on... haha.😉

Look, everything went fine, clearly. As for the bruising, I was a total wreck. Just go grab some Heparin and slather it on. I practically bathed in the stuff, but at least it helps the bruises fade faster. You won't even deal with the pain—nose surgery doesn't hurt. Even when I had broken bones, I didn't feel a thing, and my nurse told me straight up that nose surgery is painless. 😁
Nancy Perez74 said:yeah... but I want nose surgery. Always wanted it. I’ve given myself plenty of time to think it over; I've been saying I'd do this since I was a kid.

Look, there's no such thing as a perfect doctor. Everyone screws up sometimes. But this is surgery, and nobody wants to be the one making a mistake here.

The key is being crystal clear with the surgeon about what you actually want. If they can do it, get them to agree to it first. That's how it worked for me—I got exactly what I asked for. Don't sweat it.🙂
Good luck.👍
I’ve been scrolling through these posts and I honestly don't get the obsession with "first" versus "second" surgeries. I had my nose done eight months ago by Dr. Smith and he gave me exactly what I asked for. People only need follow-up work if they end up with a bump, crooked healing, or breathing issues. As for aesthetics, you just hammer out the details—narrower bridge, upturned tip, whatever—with your surgeon before you even go under. You can settle it all in one shot.☕
Gonna jump in here for a sec... I had my nose surgery with John Smith about 7 months ago and honestly, I have nothing but good things to say. The service was top-tier and I’m beyond happy with the results. He was my first choice and I definitely don't regret it. 🙂
Chloe Watson35 said:Hey, I see you had to go under the knife twice and deal with breaking side bones. I haven't done it yet—still figuring out when, where, and who—but I know I'll definitely need the bone work because my nose is wide. Does breaking those side bones mean you have to go in for two separate surgeries, or can it all be handled at once? Also, I don't get why you had to do it twice :/.

One more thing: most people here swear by Dr. Smith, but I just looked at his work and I'm not feeling it. The bone structure looks fine, but a lot of the noses look tacky to me. The bridges look too elevated, almost like they're floating. I don't know what kind of results you guys are getting, but personally, I'm not impressed.

Looks like you don't really know how this works. You don't need two surgeries just to break the side bones; that’s all handled in one go. The reason I'm posting is about Dr. Smith
specifically his work. I had my nose done by him, including the side bone work, and he doesn't just do those upturned noses. He does whatever style you actually want, or whatever fits your face best.☕
Dana Alvarez said:Look, there's no point arguing about this😉...I just wanted to ask if you could DM me some names of doctors or hospitals you know that messed up🙄...my surgery is coming up soon and I'm freaking out🙂

Honestly, I have no clue about specific names. I went private to see Dr. Smith and I was extremely happy with the results. 😉
Dana Alvarez said:I don't know... I think you're leaning on the idea that paying extra guarantees better care, which is usually true. But most of those surgeons at the hospital run private practices too. Every time I've gone in for checkups, even with the good ones, they all have their own private clinics. It basically ends up being the same thing.

A lot of people are fed up with how hospitals are run. I'm not saying private clinics can't screw up, but there are way more screw-ups happening in the public hospitals.☕
rowdybison122 said:Hey everyone. I need some advice based on what you guys have been through. It’s been 17 days since my rhinoplasty. My nose was huge with a massive bump on top. The surgeon promised he'd flatten the bump, shorten the tip, and make everything look perfect. Well, I’m hating the results so far. It still hurts like hell if I touch it, and the bottom part is rock hard—probably just swelling, but it looks totally "potato-shaped." Honestly, it doesn't even look smaller; it just looks weirdly shaped now. One side looks different than the other, so in photos, it looks like my nose is crooked. Has anyone dealt with this? Will the swelling actually go down and normalize? And that’s not even all of it. The top part that used to be bumpy looks okay on one side, but I can feel another small bump on the other side. It's not super obvious, but it's there, and it's driving me crazy. I know it takes a long time for things to settle, but right now, I'm miserable. Sorry for the long rant, but please share your experiences so I know what to expect. Thanks. 🙂

Don't freak out too much. You're only 17 days out, which is basically nothing. I'm almost 2 months post-op and my tip is still numb. It's way too early to stress. Hopefully, it all settles, but honestly, I'll always say you're better off going to a private specialist. 😉
Sarah Brooks said:Look, those drops are just stuff you mix into food to get kids to actually eat. They don't even come in spray bottles or anything like that, so there's no way they're being "administered" that way. Are we even talking about the same drops?

Wrong. It’s not appetite stimulants. It’s bone health support to prevent rickets. The kid gets Vitamin D as a single-vitamin supplement specifically to stop rickets from kicking in due to a deficiency.☕
Kate Alvarez47 said:So, I've heard from basically everyone that getting nose surgery is the absolute worst thing ever. Like, people say the pain is just insane and unbearable...
Also, can they just operate on the skin? Like, just remove the excess tissue without touching the bone?

How did I miss this one? 😁
First off, the nose doesn't hurt. And what are you even talking about when you mention skin? 🤷
Amanda Morris76 said:Maybe I'll go see him too. 🙂 Does he have a website or an email?
How many days until you could actually leave the house? (I mean, can people tell you had surgery?)

He does. Just search "Smith's Clinic" and it'll pop up. If you can't find it, I'll DM you. 😉, can't post links here because of the spam rules. 😍
I was out and about after 14 days, but man 😲, it wasn't easy. It's different for everyone though. He had to shave my nasal bone to shorten my nose, so I ended up with massive bruising, swelling—just a total horror show. 😱
feralowl19 said:Hey, can I ask a slightly dumb question? What does it actually feel like when they give you anesthesia? Does it make you dizzy? How long does it last? Or do you just pass out instantly? :-)

Once you're on the table, they stick an IV in your arm and slowly drip the anesthetic in. You're just chatting with the anesthesiologist, then—nothing. Total blackout. I didn't feel dizzy or anything; I just remember waking up in the recovery room with the nurse and the anesthesiologist right there next to me.😁
Amanda Morris76 said:Thanks a lot. 🙂I was thinking about Dr. Miller. Where is Dr. Smith located in D.C.? Or where?
And how many days after that did you actually head out?
Thanks a ton, Zachary Nguyen29. You're the best.🙂

Smith is just as much of a joke in Washington, D.C. 😉
Same day appointment, afternoon slot. Look, I picked Dr. Smith right away because the guy is actually decent. Plus, he pulls that nasal swab out after 24 hours. That’s just how the American system works. 😍He’s the only one in America who pulls it off after 24 hours, and honestly, that was one of the main reasons I was interested. 🙂Why did I even pick him? 😍Otherwise, huge props to the doctor and the whole staff. 😉
Dana Alvarez said:I’m a little nervous about general anesthesia, so I was wondering—do they put you under with an IV or through a mask?😲

I was worried about the general situation too. 😁It wasn't even that bad. They just knocked me out with an IV. 😍
Amanda Morris76 said:So consultations plus surgery $4000.
Zachary Nguyen29, did you get all those tests done in one day?
And can you actually leave the house after 22 days, or are you still stuck?
Was it general anesthesia?

Yeah, everything was done in a single day—that’s the whole point😁. Pay up and get it over with🤣. Honestly, it was great. Dr. Smith handles all the scheduling, so you're in and out fast😍.
I’ve been out and about for a while now. You don't even notice the bruises until they start fading. I just used concealer on the ones under my ribs so they wouldn't show too much toward the end😁.
Smith does all his surgeries under general anesthesia. He says it’s easier—for him and the patient. His anesthesiologist is top-tier, so you wake up smooth without any nausea. At least that was my experience. That's the deal😉.
feralowl19 said:I'm thinking about booking with Smith too! :-)

So, what are the consultations like? $67
Is the surgery $3833 (general anesthesia)
? And what other tests do I need to get done, and how much is it going to cost me?

I did all my testing through Dr. Smith, so I had to do bloodwork (3 vials), an internist visit (EKG and heart ultrasound), lung scans, and I also needed thyroid tests since mine acts up. That's basically everything I paid for$467. But honestly, you can just get it all covered by a referral from your primary doctor. I didn't bother with that because doing it privately was way faster and more private😍
. Anyway, if you have more questions, just ask.😉
I'll post photos once the swelling goes down; the bridge of my nose is still pretty swollen.😁
Amanda Morris76 said:I've decided to go through with nose surgery in about 6 months. I already checked in with Dr. Miller and loved them—super friendly people.
Got some questions for anyone who's already done this:
1. Is one month enough time for my nose to look normal without all the swelling and stuff? (Thinking one month post-op)
2. Do consultations cost money? If so, how much?
3. I'm planning on lifting the tip slightly. I read somewhere that these surgeries run around $2667? Is that true?

Thanks a lot🙂

It's been 22 days since my surgery and the bridge of my nose is still swollen. The bruising didn't even clear up until yesterday. 😁
Consultations aren't free at Smith's office. $67
The surgery itself cost me 11k $167 including general anesthesia. 😍
$2667You won't find those prices anywhere else. I think Miller charges 10,000, but maybe you can find something cheaper at a local clinic.
feralowl19 said:How long is the wait for a follow-up and surgery with Smith?

You won't be waiting forever. It all comes down to what you arrange. I got my whole thing sorted in under a month.😁
Olivia Reed94 said:Where's Smith at? Which city? Is he private sector or what?

Smith is in Washington, D.C., and he's running his own show. 😉
Kate Thompson45 said:Hey!
Can't wait to see some pics!
Glad you're loving it. 🙏

Gotta snap some shots first. Once I do, I'll post them. 😁
Peace. 🙂
