Laura Booth6, did you get that swab done yet?
If you did, give us the lowdown so we know what we're getting into. 😉
ruggedbadger9 said:Zachary Nguyen29, I doubt just holding tampons for 24 hours is enough. If it’s really just a 24-hour thing, then it’s a pretty basic procedure.

Anyway, did you guys know there are doctors in Chicago who do septum surgery without even using tampons? My case was way too complicated for that, and honestly, just thinking about tampons made my skin crawl. But now that they're actually in my nose—you actually end up loving them.🙂

Yeah, sure, 24 hours for cosmetic rhinoplasty, but it's 3-5 days for rhino-septoplasty and septoplasty.😁
I only need the cosmetic part, so the tampons come out on day two.🙂
I'm going with Ostojić. He pulls the tampons out the very next day—like, within 24 hours. I’m just banking on being able to handle that one day with a stuffed-up nose😁
Laura Booth6, fingers crossed you end up with a perfect nose😉
Laura Booth6 said:I'm doing okay now. Thank God the worst part is over. It hurts a bit, but it's manageable. I'll post a photo tomorrow if you guys want—since everyone's obsessed with how it looks and all that. I'll actually take daily photos and put them in an album so you can track it... I felt fine today and looked totally normal (no bruising or anything yet, though that'll probably hit tomorrow or the day after, so consider today my one good photo)🙂

Wishing you a speedy recovery😉
Really sorry you had to deal with that. Honestly, I haven't heard about those specific issues before, even though I've asked around a lot regarding local anesthesia.🤷
Just focus on getting that perfect nose. This will pass quickly, while the rest of us are still waiting our turn.😲
Best,😉
Laura Booth6 said:Back home now. Surgery is done. I’m speechless. Never again am I going under general anesthesia. I don't know how you guys slept through it, but I didn't. Maybe for five minutes while they were swapping out the hammers and grinders. I'm not trying to scare anyone or post this on the forum, but if anyone wants me to dictate the whole procedure to them, just send me a PM. It was horrific. To top it off, they didn't even get the sedative in until after the fourth needle prick. First the left arm, then high, then low, then the right arm, then bottom, and finally they tried the same spot where the nurse drew my blood during the checkups...

Whatever, at least it's over. But if anyone asks if I'd do it again under that anesthesia? The answer is a hard no.

It was insane. The only thing they got right was saying everything would feel like a dream—and right now, it feels more like a nightmare, like being kidnapped by those guys from the hostel.

And yeah, obviously my eyes will be closed (there's a massive light right in your face plus three smaller ones from the doctors and nurses).

Yeah, we get it, the local stuff is one thing, but tell us how you actually feel now. Are you in pain or what? 🙂
Susan Watson31 said:Honestly, just heading home is better. My own bed, my music, some tea...

I agree. 😉
It's way better than being stuck in a hospital for a week. 😛
Donna Wells90 said:I honestly don't get why there's such a massive gap.

It's all about the money. 😛
With private care, you just pay the bill and you're done. But hospitals have to cover their own costs, so the longer you stay, the better it is for their bottom line.😉
Donna Wells90 said:Why does staying at a public hospital for surgery mean a 5-7 day sentence, while you're out the door by day two if you go private?😕

If you go to a private clinic, you’re home the same day. 😉
James Kelly said:I’m not even judging you. You need help just like anyone else dealing with psychological issues. You think this is a physical thing, but the issue is entirely in your head.
The truth is, you hate your body and how you look—you actually despise yourself enough to want to change everything about your appearance.
Is there anything more pathetic than that?

It's actually the exact opposite. We take care of ourselves because we love our bodies. You've just let yourself go, so stay out of it. ☕
Yeah, sure. Real pathetic. ☕
James Kelly said:Oh, sure... you go under the knife, mutilate yourselves, and leave the hospital looking like caricatures just to check off some stereotype box.
It’s obviously about seeing a psychiatrist. Since when is seeking mental help a disgrace? You people just constantly prove how insecure you really are.
Society warped you into hating your own bodies, and now that I'm pointing out how pointless it all is, you feel personally attacked?
The magazines and those fashion gurus already conquered you long ago, selling fake beauty standards to girls who haven't developed enough personality to know better.

Cut the crap. Everyone has the right to choose. Who the hell are you to judge us?😲
James Kelly said:Isn't that being kind? Isn't it nice of me to want to help someone look their best just by being themselves?
I'm not talking about medical necessity when it comes to nose jobs, I mean purely cosmetic stuff.
Maybe it isn't "nice," but sometimes raising people requires a tougher hand—any decent parent knows that.
Look, I'm not your parent, and I don't plan on being, but you can't tell people the truth while stroking their egos.
It’s no wonder you guys are so sensitive when someone tells you the truth to your face. It sounds like you're all just insecure about your looks, which is clearly why every little insult sends you running straight to the operating table.
If the motive is purely aesthetic, there's only one real reason: insecurity.
Look, if someone is actually born with some freakish, deformed mess on their face instead of a nose, then sure, go get surgery. But changing something perfectly normal that you just inherited? That's sick. Instead of a surgeon, you should be seeing a psychiatrist.

I just don't get what you're even doing on this forum or this thread. If you want advice, just go see that psychiatrist you mentioned. ☕
gentlemaker46 said:Someone give me some good news here. It's been 6 months and the top of my nose where the lump was is still swollen. You can clearly see the bump right there.

Just post a photo of your nose so we can actually see what you're talking about 🤷. It probably isn't even that bad 😕.
I'm planning on going to Ostojić too, and now you've got me freaking out 🤷.
Rachel Foster45 said:Mine was just local anesthesia, so I needed blood work done. Coagulation is the big one since there's a lot of bleeding during surgery... but since my mom's a doctor and pretty hands-on, she had me do an EKG and a few other tests too. They also ask if you're on any meds or if you deal with stuff like asthma.

Thanks a ton😉
If anyone knows, I need an answer😉
If I decide to go through with surgery under local anesthesia, what kind of checkups do I need to get done beforehand?🤷
thanks😉
restlesspanther16 said:Nika and Jose James15, you two are just pathetic clowns. You're projecting. I didn't promote him. Like I already said, his hallways are packed with people regardless of what you losers on this forum think. I just stated my opinion and shut down the rumors. Anyway, peace out. :-)

Now you've got a report for harassment.☕
Honestly, I have zero comments on all this. You guys are a total disaster!
Now people coming here think Dr. Kinčl is actually like that. He’s a wonderful person—I’m speaking from experience since I had surgery with him. He did a perfect job. If he seems arrogant to some, it's just not true. He's a great guy in his own way; you just have to get him. I have nothing but praise for him, both as a surgeon and a human being!!! It pisses me off seeing a few people gang up to trash him while everyone else just believes them. I went to my consultation and loved everything right away—the clinic, the head nurse, and him. Even after reading your comments here, I stuck to my guns and showed up for my scheduled date. Because of a few haters, people end up canceling their surgeries with him. Don't do that. What, should they go to Dr. Glumičić because he’s constantly shoving himself in the media? Not to bash him, I respect him, but he only specializes in head and neck, yet claims he can do any plastic surgery just because he watched others do it instead of actually specializing? Whoever says Dr. Kinčl uses those public appearances just for self-promotion is dead wrong. He was just the first one to speak up about how many young girls were disfigured by that other doctor. Maybe there were cases that didn't work out perfectly with Dr. Kinčl, but there isn't a single veteran plastic surgeon in the world who hasn't made a mistake. It's just that as soon as Dr. Kinčl's name pops up, a few people start trashing him, making it look like he's bad. I am blown away by him and his work. You always have to expect realistic results, not like thinking if you get lip fillers they'll look like Angelina's... it all depends on your own anatomy... and btw, Kinčl is the only licensed plastic surgeon in America. He volunteered the whole time during the American Civil War and is the only surgeon included in The Hand of Mercy. All his awards and specialties prove he's not just a doctor, but a real person. So, to the people who love to talk trash because they lack common sense: stay away. You're pathetic, and you aren't hurting Dr. Kinčl—his schedule is still packed and his hallways are always full. Your miserable attempts aren't working. DR. KINČL IS THE BEST. I'd go in for another surgery just to talk to him again, he's such an intelligent and good person... alright, I've praised him enough, I'm out. Bye bye.

"A doctor must be just as humane and brave in war as in peace,
whether in a state hospital or a private clinic,
because patients are all the same—HUMANS"

GO TO KINČL! :*[/QUOTE

Yeah, go see some other doctor then.☕
Obviously my nose looks thick right now—it's just swollen—but even like this, I'm stoked. Once the swelling goes down, it's going to be even better. My man says it was worth every single cent 😉 .

Which doctor did you go to?😁

lonemason10 said:That was my experience too... but you have to massage it until it actually hurts. It gets firmer every single day. Don't freak out; once they take the cast off, everything settles down. That’s how it worked for me... I asked him five different times if it was actually lifting or not.

Every time I finish cleaning with that damn iron device, my breathing feels amazing, but then it just clogs up again on its own. It’s totally normal. You need a few months for things to stabilize so you can breathe and clear your nose properly..

Anyway... my doctor explained it to me: female noses are shaped at a certain angle, and men's are too. "Piggy" noses happen when they're done at a much steeper angle than what's natural, and surgeons won't do that unless the patient specifically asks for it.. for example, Taylor Swift's nose looks way more upturned than it should be.

I agree, her nose looks fake, and honestly, it's too small for her face.🙂

stormyraven46 said:First off, these aren't even "side effects." It’s just what happens to most people, period. Some folks don't mention it, but I went through it, and honestly, everything settles down way faster and looks better in the end. And trust me, I'm not the only one this happened to. Look, if you're going for surgery, you can't be terrified of the aftermath while acting like the procedure itself isn't a big deal. Have you actually done your homework? Read up on what to expect? If you're panicking over stuff like getting an injection, you're in for a rough time. I wish someone had just been straight with me from the start. I'm just sharing my experience so you guys aren't caught off guard. That's all.

I wasn't talking about side effects specifically, just things that happen during recovery. As for the surgery, I know exactly what I'm getting into. I stay updated online because I want the full picture before I make a move.☕

stormyraven46 said:Man, don't even bother. Those shots aren't necessary at all. I had some leftover congestion myself—just felt like my sinuses were filled with water—so I went ahead and took those injections three times. Honestly? They sting. It’s a sharp, deep burn that hits you hard. But look, it doesn't last long. You can handle it. Maybe it sounds more intense than it actually is, but seriously, don't freak out.🙂

Yeah, relax. You didn't really need to bring that up. Most people aren't even dealing with those side effects.☕
