Look, I have to go because I finally managed to clear my schedule for the World Cup, so I really need to get this trip out of the way before summer hits.

brightpilot6 said:Good grief, man, just be a bit more creative and take her out to some quiet spot in rural Kentucky instead. Either way, you’ll end up spending a lot less money.

I’ve got a skydiving trip scheduled 😎, so that's basically my vacation planned out right there.

Hey guys, can anyone help me out here?

So, I was thinking about hitting up Maui this summer to finally give my legs a break, and I’m wondering which spot is actually the best for a getaway with my girlfriend? Like, what would you guys recommend? Should I look into Lahaina? Paia? Kula?
Any advice at all would be huge.

Is the Zdravko Mamić era at Dinamo finally hitting the wall? We’re diving into how serious this "For Our Dinamo" movement actually is. We'll have Silvio Marić, Dario Šimić, Igor Bišćan, and Tomislav Šokota on the show to break it down. We’re talking about the future of the club, all that shady financial mess in pro soccer, and what’s really going on with the U.S. Soccer Federation.

Honestly, everyone else in this thread is just a joke, but him? Man, he's a total one-man show. 🤣🤣🤣

Do I seriously have to keep backing up all these images, or can I actually trust that this site isn't going to vanish into thin air overnight? 😁

Is anyone else watching this absolute circus on the news right now, because seriously, what even is this?

Modern Family 👍 is just... ugh, I can't even deal with how they get things going and then just bail halfway through, you know? It's so frustrating! 👍 Anyway, is anyone actually watching Family Guy? Maybe that's my kind of cartoon instead.

Elizabeth Mendoza said:The Walking Dead was a total slap in the face to everyone watching. That's not how you wrap up a season. It was garbage. Honestly, it felt like some random episode dropped in the middle of the season instead of an actual finale. Total joke.

I actually stopped watching HIMYM about a year or a year and a half ago because they just got too annoying. Still, I ended up downloading the final episode just to see how they’d pull it off, and honestly, I hadn't missed much since I quit. The finale was okay, but I can't shake the feeling that the show should have wrapped up a few seasons earlier. They just dragged it out way too long—which is pretty much the standard for most US sitcoms these days.

It's a classic move here in the States—they just want to squeeze out every last cent of profit possible.

HIMYM was an incredible show until maybe season five, but after that, they totally watered it down, and then they completely botched the end, though I will say the final episode was somewhat decent, not because it was funny—since they basically crammed every single old joke into one episode🙄—but because the actual story made sense for once.

As for TWD, this season managed to scrape by; it wasn't great, and I agree they aren't anywhere near the quality of that first season, but it's still watchable. However, that season finale was hyped up to be this massive, earth-shattering event, and in the end, absolutely nothing happened.

When we were talking about TV shows, did we ever actually cover TWD and that HIMYM finale?

Honestly, after hitting this run of Mud, DBC, and The Lincoln Lawyer, I’m seriously considering finally giving them a shot. Screw it... I'm watching them ASAP. 😍

I'd also highly recommend checking out The Lincoln Lawyer.

Magic Mike 🤣 what can I even say about that one? It’s not some absolute train wreck or anything, but it's totally unnecessary viewing—honestly, don't waste your damn time.

But getting back to DBC, that movie was an absolute blast, seriously, huge props to everyone involved because it was just top-tier stuff.🙏
Best and Worst of 2013 in Movies ·
Worst: basically every single blockbuster this year

Best: The Conjuring, The Iceman

Surprisingly good: Pain & Gain (even though the critics absolutely tore it apart, I thought it was hilarious), Gangster Squad, Hummingbird, Snitch
When trailers lie (SPOILER THREAD) in Movies ·
I mean, I saw this coming, and look, I’m not some massive Lord of the Rings fanatic or anything, but I did a little digging and realized that the book "The Hobbit"—if that's even its actual name—is way shorter, maybe around 400 pages, while the others are easily hitting 600 or 700.
So, you take three huge books and get three movies, but now they take the smallest book ever and somehow squeeze out three whole films. It was blindingly obvious from the start that fans were going to get absolutely wrecked by this, and that the pacing would be criminally slow, probably just rushing everything into the final thirty minutes of the last installment.

It’s hard to say if it's actually stupid when a trailer runs longer than three minutes, but honestly? When I'm told I'm getting a comedy and I get some barely-there little drama instead, or when they pitch an action flick and it turns out to be some kid stuff, it's enough to make you lose it. 😠

😁 😁

I mean, seriously, what can you even say anymore? It’s just a bunch of idiots out there who only care about peddling some mindless, stupid movie to anyone gullible enough to buy it, and they'll lie straight to your face and shove whatever garbage they've cooked up down your throat just to make a buck! 🤣
Honestly, whenever I start thinking back on all the movies I've actually sat through, only to realize they basically just stuffed every single good part into the trailer, my blood pressure just hits the roof, and I swear I'm ready to go on a rampage and take out fourteen people. 😁

Is it worse when they just blatantly lie and stitch together scenes in a trailer that aren't even in the actual movie, or when they decide to cram "every single" scene into one trailer and ruin the whole surprise?🤷🤔
Olivia Thomas2 said:True, Bayern is a gold standard, but comparing the North America to the wealthiest nation in Europe—probably one of the top five globally—is just pure stupidity. We’ll reach their level in about 500 years, by which time they'll be fighting wars over space colonies.
I'll give you this much, though: with this current roster, our Dodgers wouldn't even qualify for a minor league tournament. It really shows how pathetic our league is when the Dodgers are sitting at number one...

Of course it isn't stupid, we are nowhere near them, that much is obvious, but surely we should be looking up to people better than us instead of just mimicking the losers.
And when I talk about club formation, I'm talking about how the club is actually managed, not just the financial conditions. Because let's be real, money alone can't help us compete with the giants of Europe, so we have to make up for it with pure enthusiasm—we have to, because we don't have any other choice. Especially when I see how insanely talented everyone is in the North America; the amount of raw diamonds we have here is just unreal.
As for the Dodgers, they're just having a tiny little run, and I seriously doubt it'll last, especially with players acting like pampered divas who can't handle anything.

Michelle Palmer6 said:I honestly believe that right now, there isn't a single soul on the planet who could successfully buy into the Intertoto Cup 🙂

But even if they could, I know for a fact our clubs wouldn't win it, even if we were playing against teams from tiny places like Andorra or Gibraltar.

☕

You know how it goes: It's easy to root for Brazil, but try rooting for Cyprus.

I honestly can't tell if you're trying to imply I'm some die-hard Dodgers fan or if you think they're currently sitting at the top, but whatever, I don't even bother rooting for any American club because honestly, given the absolute state of soccer in this country right now, being a loyal supporter of any local team feels almost tragicomic.

They might be in first place right now—there's no arguing that—but the real question is how much longer they can actually stay there before reality hits, because they are frankly a joke. And look, being a Dodgers fan isn't quite on the same level of misery as supporting Cyprus, but if you'd mentioned someone like Portland or maybe Cleveland, I'd get you, but you can't compare them to the Dodgers.

But hey, those guys from LA are always doing what they do, constantly lying to themselves and blaming the refs or bad luck for why they aren't winning, right? The truth is they’re just straight-up terrible, and they haven't changed, but even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while, which is basically their current situation—they're just hitting a lucky streak and nothing more. Of course, they immediately start acting like big shots, pumping out all these quotes about "star players" and "wonderkids," but they really ought to take a good, hard look at where all those supposed "prodigies" actually end up playing after a season or two...
Justin Patel8 said:The only real downside to this privatization move is that clubs might just stop caring about developing local talent. Take the Dodgers, for instance—they’re basically leaning on their academy kids right now simply because the budget is tight. Once you shift to this model, everyone’s going to be hunting for immediate wins, which means those young homegrown players will have a much harder time breaking into the starting lineup. In the long run, it’s going to screw over the national team.

That's exactly why things are such a mess; these guys are so incompetent they wouldn't even make it into a minor league tournament.
If teams want to actually compete at the highest level, they need elite players, and yeah, you need serious cash for that, but that doesn't mean you can't grow your own! Look at giants like Bayern Munich or Barcelona—you have to invest in your academy if you want to actually have something worth "harvesting" later on.
