how long does it take for the nose swelling to go down... like, when will it be at a stage where only I can notice the swelling? because right now, it feels absolutely massive...

I mean, has anyone here ever been unhappy immediately after removing the splint, only to end up being totally satisfied after a little while passed? 🙂>
If you take a moment to scroll back through even just a few pages, you’ll see that almost everyone in your shoes felt the exact same way... 🙂
it's called swelling for a reason... it goes up, and then eventually, it settles down... 😉you just need some time and a lot of patience...
So, I finally sent him an email to see if I could send over some photos first... you know, just to get a better idea of what my options actually are and what the damage might look like regarding the cost. They got back to me and said sure, go ahead—they just need two shots, one from the front and one profile view
Anyway, I just wanted to keep you all in the loop 🙂
Though, they did mention that the price listed is strictly for the aesthetic side of things $4000... and I remember another woman on this forum who went to him for an aesthetic rhinoplasty and ended up paying $9,000... so I'm really hoping that $12,000 figure is just a rough estimate that might come down a bit 😁
Adam Patel98 said:In principle, it should work out fine... If the photos are actually high-quality and reliable, the price shouldn't vary that much between what you see in the picture and what you get in person... The only real issue is that some surgeons... they just seem more interested in pocketing the fees from the consultations... I’ve personally reached out to a few doctors in both New York and Chicago since walking around isn't exactly easy for me right now... most of them were actually quite polite when they replied, though a few didn't bother hiding their fees at all...

That’s exactly what I’m getting at... 🙂 I know Tončić charges for consultations, so I was just wondering... would he even be willing to give me an answer over email regarding something like this...?
Well, before I go ahead and send him an email—which honestly feels like I'd just be embarrassing myself at this point—I figured I should probably check in here first and see what you all think... 😉
Edward Robinson70 said:No matter who you end up choosing, please feel free to ask anything at all... I'm sure there are plenty of people here with the exact same questions, whether it's about the procedure itself or the recovery process afterwards. 🙂 I'm more than happy to help out 🙂

I was wondering if it's okay to just email some actual photos of my nose to Tončić... maybe ask him what he thinks could be done and what the cost might look like.
I'm just not sure if he'd actually respond to an email like that instead of doing things through an official consultation... so I wanted to check if anyone else here has ever tried reaching out to him that way? 🙂
Adam Patel98, I honestly don't even know what to say... good luck with all that, whatever it turns out to be...

Anyway, I have a question for everyone here—is it okay to email Tončić photos of my nose to ask about potential procedures and pricing? I know you can do that with Dr. Glusac, but his whole thing with charging for consultations is a bit unpredictable, and he seems to manage his own inbox quite strictly...
From what I understand, the replies to inquiries for Tončić are handled by his nurse, and since he usually charges for consultations anyway, I'm just wondering if he’d actually want to answer specific medical questions like mine over email? It feels like it's essentially asking for a consultation without one...
Has anyone else tried doing this?
Elizabeth Gomez3 said:It was actually a medical necessity... my doctor suggested it because the bone structure was shifting slightly out of alignment... and every single time I caught even a minor cold, my sinus pain would become absolutely unbearable... so I decided to go through with it.

So, how did the nose end up looking? 😁
Did it result in a major change in terms of aesthetics?
I mean, was it visible from the outside that the bone was misaligned or...? I guess what I'm asking is, did they have to make any "drastic" changes to the shape of your nose during the procedure?
Elizabeth Gomez3 said:I actually had an appointment with Dr. Miličić... I think his first name is Damir... he was at the hospital, such a tall, strong, commanding presence 😁 when I first walked in, I have to admit I was a little intimidated 😲 🤣 but honestly, he's just a total sweetheart 😁

ugl, I’m just so impressed 😍

Did you go through a private specialist out of pocket, or was this covered by your insurance?
And was it mostly for cosmetic reasons, or was there a functional necessity behind the surgery?
Ethan James47 said:Hey there! I was wondering if anyone here has actually seen Al Gore in St. Louis regarding rhinoplasty... does he even perform those kinds of procedures? Would love to hear about any experiences, thanks.

I think I heard someone mention once that he might have opened his own private practice—or maybe he's just consulting for someone else now—but whether he’s actually doing cosmetic work is something I'm still unsure about...
If you happen to find out anything, please post it here... I'm also curious about this myself... 🙂
Kate Taylor59 said:I didn't go to him, I actually saw Dr. Miller... Davor... but he told me everything was completely normal. It was such an aggressive surgery, they had to reset the bone, grind things down, and god knows what else... 😂 I still maintain there isn't a better doctor out there... honestly, it felt more like visiting family than being at a clinic... that's how welcoming they were... just perfect...

In one of our private messages you mentioned that they didn't have to break any bones... because I specifically remember asking if they did any bone resetting or grinding, specifically looking for those little lumps or bits of cartilage left behind... so now I'm feeling a little bit confused... 😕
Ashley Gomez, steelangler88, driftingmoose47 who did you guys go to for your surgery? I’ve been following this thread for months now, but there have been so many different stories... I’ve honestly lost track of who is who at this point... 🤣 😁
restlessrider14, I’m afraid I can’t really offer much advice here since I haven't gone through my own surgery yet... though, if you don't mind me asking, which hospital did you end up going to for the procedure?

before and after.. 😍

hey, could you please just send those pictures to my inbox? the links aren't working for me.. 🙂
@rustygardener172/">@@rustygardener172 and wanderingcrane21 - I didn't actually expect that 3D simulation to show me exactly what my nose would look like after surgery... obviously everything depends on facial structure and the actual shape of the nose itself, and doctors really don't know the full story until they actually get in there and open it up
I just wanted to say that I find those 3D simulations helpful... it lets me visualize how a straight profile might look versus a more button-like nose, or how a smaller tip vs. a larger one might change things, and so on...
I'm not claiming the result will be identical to the simulation, it's just meant to help a patient decide which look suits them better... as for how it all turns out in the end—well, that's in the hands of the surgeons and God...
According to their official website: "Dr. Bagatin removes the 'bump' using a surgical blade or a curette."

But didn't we all pretty much agree through endless threads on this forum that this isn't actually a sound approach... since you end up leaving behind tiny fragments of cartilage that just resurface later as those little bumps and subcutaneous nodules?
People, I’ve been following this thread almost every single day for nearly a year now, and I don't think I've ever seen anyone mention Bagatin Medical Clinic here?
I was just scrolling through Facebook and saw they have that 3D imaging technology that lets you simulate what a new nose—or pretty much anything else—would actually look like... it doesn't seem like a bad thing at all...
Since they're apparently the only ones with that tech, I'm thinking that even if I don't end up having my surgery there, maybe it's worth going in for a consultation just to get a rough idea of how a new nose might actually suit my face...

But seriously, does nobody know anything about Dr. Bagatin, or are people just staying quiet because they know he's not good?

They're constantly popping up on all those TV shows and doing free surgeries for people, which honestly turns me off a little bit... it feels like so much self-promotion... but then again, an ad is an ad, and maybe that doesn't necessarily mean they aren't skilled at what they do...
Rachel Fisher97 said:this was how doctor Tončić replied to my email...

The price for cosmetic surgery on the nose is $3667 if you pay by card (Maestro, Master, Visa, Diners, American Express) through monthly installments (2-12 months), or via consumer credit over 2-60 installments, depending on the card used. If paying in cash, the price is $3333, since we offer a significant discount for cash payments. If the functional part—meaning correcting the nasal septum—is performed alongside the cosmetic portion, the total cost would be $4400 for card payments, and $4000 for cash.

😉

I actually asked doctor Glušac if it was possible to just do the cosmetic part without the functional part... and he told me a hundred times that it simply isn't possible...

so who's the crazy one now? 😕
I was just thinking about what my dream nose would look like... 😁 I bet you guys are all dying to know 😁
Anyway, here are some photos
http://www.betternose.com/results.htm

I really wish mine could look just like this... perfectly straight, with the bridge and the tip being a bit smaller, just like hers... I mean, I want it to look EXACTLY like this 😍

But now... I'm wondering... would that actually require breaking bones? And did they touch her tip too, or does it just naturally look smaller once the bridge is straightened out? 🤷
Elizabeth Wells10 said:I have to say... Tončić's nose is just absolutely stunning... truly beautiful... but honestly, that whole idea of anesthesia? It gives me a little bit of a scare... They’ll probably judge me based on how I handle the peaks... because that’s always been my Achilles' heel... I honestly had no idea there were so many different ways this could play out... and that it would end up being such a massive headache in the end...

How am I supposed to know? Honestly... I don't have a clue either... 🤷

Just one more thing I wanted to ask everyone... how long did it actually take you all to finish doing all your research before the surgery? And by that, I mean I'm not talking about those private clinics where everything is wrapped up in just a few days, but rather the standard process through the public hospital system...
So, I wanted to pick your brains on something... I'm staring down two different windows for surgery—either late July or early August, or waiting until the winter semester during finals week, which would be around early February.
I know logically that going during the winter makes more sense since the cooler weather helps keep swelling down, whereas dealing with that brutal mid-summer heat when it hits 100 degrees sounds miserable. But there's one thing weighing on me... maybe it's a silly question, but... winters are so cold here, and it’s pretty much a given that you'll have a constantly runny nose. I can't help but wonder if that's actually an issue? I mean, everything is going to be so raw and tender with the incisions and all... could all that constant sniffing and drainage make things worse?
velvetrider18 said:I have to say, the local anesthesia wasn't scary at all... actually, it was kind of an interesting experience! The whole medical team was wonderful, and my surgeon was this young doctor who did such a phenomenal job... I honestly can't wait for the swelling to go down just to see how the final result looks!

have you heard everything that's been going on lately?
