It’s fine, honestly; it would look good on you. It fits the style and the color is nice enough.. 🤷 though what it actually reveals about you is: I'm clever, my jokes are brilliant, I'm clever, my jokes are brilliant, I'm clever... if you were a movie, I might have actually sat through it. 🤣
p.s. this isn't off-topic, since the word 'movie' was used.

And that is exactly where the future of cinema lies. 🤷 Just imagine the sheer amount of young talent that would finally get the chance to direct their first, second, or even third feature. 🙂

See, I knew it all along.
So now everything is magically fixed for everyone again, is it?

Honestly, I reached my breaking point yesterday afternoon, so I did a little digging and, lo and behold, within seconds I had the extension installed and now everything is running flawlessly. Norton isn't constantly nagging me anymore and the site is legitimately flying. 🙏
I have to admit, the movie really resonated with me. Everything about it felt right, from the core narrative to the performances; I’ve always maintained that Tom Hanks is a generational talent, and I’m a huge fan of Christopher Walken as well, not to mention how Leonardo DiCaprio absolutely nailed his role. It was just a perfectly executed piece of cinema. 😁 Even the ending left me feeling satisfied.
I can't believe I'm even sitting here typing this out, but honestly, watching the absolute chaos unfold on Reddit lately has just left me feeling completely exhausted by the sheer lack of common sense being displayed.
I’m starting to suspect that pure evil has staged a total coup over this entire forum, leaving the moderators and administrators—no matter how brilliant or well-intentioned they might be—completely powerless to push back against such darkness. you all ought to be terrified, truly, you should be shaking in your boots! 🤣
Adam Reed5 said:Hey everyone! I'm new here... I've been lurking for a bit reading through everything, so I finally decided to jump in and share what's been weighing on my mind.
I don't really believe in anything. Not love, not truth, not freedom, God, science... I don't know... I just don't have any ideals. There's no "meaning" for me, just the practical value of things.
And people? I don't trust them either. Not even friendship. Honestly, I get along best with people who lie all the time, because then I don't have to believe a single word they say 🤷
I don't have much respect for anything... except maybe nature. I don't really hold strong stances on anything. Like, when there’s some massive national debate about a new policy or a big election cycle... I just can't bring myself to care. It's hard to care when you don't trust the news being fed to us anyway.
My behavior is pretty irresponsible, too. Toward others—like, I'll be great with someone one day, then just change my number and vanish forever because, again, I don't believe in friendship—and toward myself, like with how I handle intimacy. Not to mention daily responsibilities or obligations. I just don't have goals or desires.
So, basically, I could probably check out by tomorrow...
It doesn't bother me much most of the time, except for those moments (maybe this is one of them) where I wash up and think—how am I actually living like this? How long can this go on? Then I just tell myself—whatever, it'll work out somehow. What's the point of "purpose"? It's just an illusion anyway. And I just go back to my old ways.
I mostly just operate on pure impulse or sheer spite. But I'm not some heartless jerk, if anyone's wondering. I think I'm a decent person. I'd never intentionally exploit or hurt someone just because it's convenient for me.
But I feel like I can't keep going like this forever. I don't want to wake up when I'm old and realize I've spent my whole life with absolutely nothing to show for it. I wish I had at least one principle, any kind of principle (as long as it isn't destructive), just so I had something to guide me. Something that makes my behavior consistent for more than two days in a row.
I feel like a leaf blowing in the wind. I'm doing okay for now, but it's not really leading anywhere...
Does anyone have any advice? What do you believe in, and why? Do you have some sort of "code" you live by?
That’s pretty much the underlying principle most people live by, honestly, so I really don't see what the big deal is.
Benjamin Rodriguez13 said:Good sex can definitely extend the honeymoon phase... or at least make it feel like an addiction to the person. Hmm... I should probably dig deeper into how love floods the brain beyond just the oxytocin. But briefly: it's an addiction. P.S. Am I off base here, but when women have great sex, they tend to stick around... no matter how much of a mess the guy is. Or is that just a myth?
cosmictinker21 said:You really have to learn how to separate what actually matters from the noise. And I mean truly, honestly, without letting the neighbors weigh in, or following outdated social norms, or being paralyzed by that "what will people think?" anxiety...
Ultimately, opting out of society can be a great move, but I worry about the ripple effects on everyone else. I know a few people who lived exactly like that, but they left a trail of neglected kids and abandoned partners in their wake. They skipped out on finishing school, ignored basic cultural literacy, science, hygiene, and common sense... basically, their only option was a state of constant incompleteness. Just drifting, constant movement, endless spiritual and physical experiments. In The Tao, they felt completely free. But they weren't actually free enough to finish anything, or make a decision and follow through on it. There's nothing wrong with being part of the mainstream in certain areas. A mature person knows how to navigate that. They can tell the difference between what's essential and what's trivial. Between what brings genuine happiness and what's just unbearable. And they realize that things aren't unbearable because they lack stability, but because they lack the discipline to actually get things done properly.
Oof, I guess I wandered a bit far off course there... 🤣
there is no such thing as "essential" or "trivial," at least not in any universal sense, so you just live however you can and pray to God you don't sink; that's really all the truth anyone can claim to know. 🤷
I actually found Up in the Air to be quite a solid film; the storylines felt incredibly well-rounded and the character arcs were handled with such precision, maintaining a consistent central theme from the opening scene right through to the end.

edmond
Look at something like Edmond, for instance, where the lead character just makes incredibly stupid decisions constantly. 🤷

a dolly parton: d-i-v-o-r-c-e, and all her other hits? nothing, right? 🙂
