Betty Gonzalez41 said:Btw, quick question for anyone who’s already gone through surgery!
How long does it usually take before those stitches start falling out on their own?

And okay, this is kinda gross, but 🤣 how soon can I actually squeeze away all these little crusties and mites that have gathered on my gorgeous new nose while I was stuck wearing the splint and couldn't exactly scrub my skin clean?😢 These little pests
anyone?

I had my procedure on September 24th, and honestly, I think I still have one or two stitches left. Don't even stress about it... I didn't even realize when mine finally dropped out 😁 (they basically just vanished overnight, lol!) and honestly, it's probably better if they stay in a bit longer since they help hold everything in place properly. 😁
Ugh, the crusties!!!! That really depends on you... once you feel like you can actually touch the area without issues—go ahead and squeeze them off 😁 just please, for the love of god, don't do anything for at least the first two weeks. 😉
Sophia Hill22 said:Wait, you actually saw this girl in person? That’s freaking awesome!

Yeah, I did 🙂 ran into her totally by accident... she didn't even mention she was on the forum until after we talked. And honestly? Bastajic doesn't advertise his life away at all... you won't find him all over the internet or anything... nothing. But everyone says he's a total pro at what he does. Probably spent years grinding out here in the States before heading back home to set up his own practice. Anyway, seriously, let me know how the consultation went... I'm dying to hear the details. 😁
Hey, Betty Gonzalez41 and mellowgull51, any chance you guys could send some pics my way? I'd love to get a look at those noses of yours too!
Sophia Hill22 said:Hey everyone!

I really put in the work today—I sat my butt down and slogged through this entire thread from the very beginning. While I was digging through everything, I ended up stumbling upon some pretty negative experiences involving Dr. Glusca. 😢 😢 And here I am, feeling that familiar wave of anxiety creeping back in again. Honestly, it’s like this constant cycle I can't seem to break.

enivejz - I've been scrolling through a few posts lately—saw some positive ones, but they were super short regarding... Dr. Ljubis Bastaic

@rustygardener172 So, I noticed he made your shortlist too—did you actually end up going to see him?
So, you're actually going to see him for a consultation? Are you seriously second-guessing things because something went sideways, or are you just having one of those moments where everything feels a bit sketchy?

Anyone out there? I’m looking for some honest feedback and, honestly, a reality check on prices. Any takers? 🙂🙂

@stormyharbor2 So, how’s the recovery going? Honestly, it’s a whole process, isn't it? One day you feel like you're actually getting somewhere, and the next, you're just staring at the ceiling wondering when things will get back to normal. It’s a grind, for sure.

What negative experiences? Honestly, I can't even remember any... All I recall is everyone just trashing him personally instead of actually critiquing his work. But whatever, it doesn't really matter to me—my results turned out great. 😁 Hahahahahah
I haven't actually sat down for a consultation with Bastaic myself... but honestly, I've been hearing nothing but glowing reviews. I recently met this girl who went to him for a nose job, and she was absolutely raving about the results. She’s actually a member here on the forum—I can't remember if she's still posting much lately, though.
stormyharbor2 said:Yeah, I’m saying the exact same thing. Honestly, I’m baffled by people who claim the whole thing was just a total piece of cake—like they were smoking (😳) right after surgery or heading back to work just a few days later. It's wild. 😕

Maybe this sounds like a dumb question, but how long does the nose take to stop feeling all soft and gummy? Right now, when I blow my nose, it swells up like a freaking frog. 🤣 Since I’ve already had the splint taken off early, I’ve been wrapping it myself at home. I’m low-key terrified I’m going to mess up the shape or something, even though I’m being super careful about it.

We clearly just got luckier than most 😛 That’s exactly my point... everyone is built differently and everyone heals on their own timeline. That’s why listening to someone else's recovery story doesn't really help much—it's all subjective. 😁

Gummy? Ugh, I don't know... definitely during that first month, for sure. I’ve honestly forgotten what that feels like by now... but I totally get what you mean. 🙄

Honestly, even your old nose wasn't half bad... just had that little bump on the bridge when looking from the front.🙂
Seriously though, the new nose looks amazing on you!! It didn't totally change your face shape, it just shrunk it down a bit and made everything look more symmetrical, which honestly suits you perfectly! 👍
mellowgull51 said:Hey, could you please send those photos to me too? I'm really curious to see the difference.

Sent 'em. 👍
Betty Gonzalez41 said:hehe, look, I know there's zero point in constantly squinting through that tiny little hole in the mold, but I just can't help myself 😁
I'm not even sure if I'm making sense here, but strictly from a dimensional standpoint—since every time I read reviews, everyone complains that their nose looks like a potato while it's still swollen, which makes me think it's swelling outward in width, right?... So, my question is, does it swell out just as much in length? Like, is it uniform all around? Hmm, I don't know how else to put this—will the swelling subside equally in all directions, or should I expect most of the shrinkage to happen in width?

Okay, now that I actually read what I wrote, I realize how confusing that sounds, haha. But if anyone has the patience to explain this in more detail—specifically people who have already survived the mold removal and everything else—it would be amazing if you could walk me through it 😵

Hahahahhahahh, alright then, I'll just shoot you a DM with a photo of my nose at the two-week mark versus the two-month mark... then you can compare for yourself! 😁
stormyharbor2, how’s everything going with you???? You still kicking? 😛 😁
Betty Gonzalez41 said:Hey everyone, so today’s the big day—I’m heading in to get my nose done by Dr. Toncic. I actually have a few questions, even though I’ve been deep-diving through a massive chunk of this forum while prepping for the surgery.😁
So, looking at this even with the surgical template in place, I still feel like my nose isn't short enough. I know, I know—everything is still going to swell down significantly, but I’m curious about the theory behind it all. Does the nose just slim down in width, or does it actually lose length too? Like, does it technically become shorter over time once the post-op swelling finally settles?
I hope you guys can figure out what I was getting at, haha!

Look, the tip of your nose is going to stay swollen the longest... and while it’s all puffed up like that, it stays tilted upward, which makes the whole thing look shorter—kind of piggish, if you know what I mean. Once that swelling finally starts to drain away and the tip begins to drop, that's when it'll actually start looking longer. If you catch my drift. Honestly, I don't buy for a second that your nose tip is actually going to end up shorter. BUT... you haven't even taken the mold off yet! You can't even see the full picture right now. You're probably just spiraling, imagining all sorts of crazy things based on how you *think* it looks in your head, but who knows what it actually looks like in reality? You won't truly know until that mold comes off. And even then, you have to be patient, because once it's out, you're still going to be so swollen that you won't be able to get a clear read on the final result immediately. 😁
Look, at the end of the day... just hang in there and give it some time. Once you’ve actually had a chance to sit down and really think about it, you'll realize that's the only real answer to what you're asking.
I honestly don't get you people... all this obsessive analyzing of your nose and obsessing over every tiny little detail the second you walk through the door. Most of you have already been through enough hell to last a lifetime. If you were capable of waiting months for the actual surgery, you can definitely manage to wait a few more days to see how your new nose actually looks. Stop spiraling and feeding yourself this constant wave of panic and misery—it’s exhausting just watching. Seriously, just stay away from the mirror for at least ten days. 😁
Nancy Perez74 said:So I’m just sitting here waiting... and waiting... but let me tell you, that nose is not getting that cute upturned look, period. I'm holding out hope for the results, but since the doctor basically promised the shape wouldn't change much... that means it's never going to get that snatched look I actually paid a fortune for. 😢
And honestly? It's not even straight. It doesn't even look like I went under the knife—which was literally my entire goal. It's been nearly two months now, and I’ve pretty much had to accept that nothing is changing.

Come on, shoot me a DM with some pics!
mellowgull51 said:There’s one more thing that bugs me about Dr. Toncic—at least based on what I’ve been reading in your posts here—it seems like his son is usually the one handling the consultations instead of the elder Toncic himself. I’m just not sure how he's actually going to communicate my specific wishes to his dad.

They work in shifts (like, the younger guy does Mon-Wed, then Fri afternoons)...actually, I can't remember the exact schedule...just ask them when you call and make sure to book your consultation for a time when the older Toncic is actually in the office.
stormyharbor2 said:Some people might think this looks a bit much, but personally, I think this nose (or profile) is gorgeous

That was basically my nose before surgery Hahahahahahah
but honestly, from the front? A total disaster 🙂
Donna Jackson8 said:Sarah Booth11, where have you been hiding? You’ve gone totally MIA on those of us still hunting for the right surgeon and drowning in questions. I get it—once the surgery is over and everything turns out fine, there’s zero reason to come back and post on a forum. But if you do decide to pop back in, please, for the love of God, share some photos. To everyone else who has actually sat in Dr. Glushac's office—please weigh in. Give us the good, the bad, and the ugly so we can figure out who to trust. Someone mentioned earlier on here—I can't remember who—that Glushac absolutely wrecked a few girls. If that person is lurking, please speak up and tell us what happened (you can even hit me up via private message)....

Well, I’m jumping in just to say my nose still looks freaking amazing. 😍
redranger82 said:Hey everyone, I'm pretty new to this whole topic, so I wanted to pick the brains of the veterans here. 😁

I've got a deviated septum, and my doctor told me I could get surgery covered by insurance, but honestly? I’d love to get some aesthetic work done on my nose at the same time. I'm wondering how much they're actually willing to do under an insurance referral—meaning, if I don't hand over a few thousand extra bucks out of pocket.

Do they perform the cosmetic stuff the same way they do when someone just pays cash upfront? 🙂 😁

Thanks for any insight! 🙂

Look, it really all depends... and honestly, it's hard for anyone in this thread to give you a straight answer. Some surgeons will tack on the cosmetic tweaks during a procedure covered by insurance, but you have to be super upfront about wanting it. Technically, they shouldn't be charging you extra for the "look" part through insurance, though I've heard whispers that some doctors definitely find ways to squeeze extra cash out of people. It's totally hit-or-miss. Your best bet is to just sit down and talk to the actual surgeon who's handling your septum repair. Only they can tell you what's actually on the table. Good luck!
Ethan Brown6 said:Hey there! Can anyone give me the lowdown on Dr. Glushac? I’m trying to get some clarity regarding nose surgery... specifically, how do you actually coordinate everything with him? Also, what’s the standard recovery time at the clinic after the procedure? And honestly, what kind of surgeon is he in general? Any insights would be huge!

Thanks so much!!!🙂

Look, no offense intended... but seriously, just scroll back through the last five pages of this thread. You’ll find pretty much every answer you're looking for right there, since that's basically all anyone has been talking about lately. I'd really love for us to stop repeating the same stuff over and over again.
silentotter99 said:Could you send them to me too? pleeeeeease🙂
I really dig how Glushac works; he was actually my runner-up, so I'm dying to see these shots firsthand.😉

Sent them over....
stormyharbor2 said:Oh, give me a break, lady. 😂 May you grow an extra cartilage just for fun. 🤣

Just kidding. 😉

Hahahahahahhahahaahah, take it back! Seriously, when I hit you up in a few months... listen, since you cursed me, you’re paying for my cartilage resurfacing hahahahahahhaahahah 😂
In all seriousness though, I really hope that doesn't happen to anyone. 🙂
Donna Jackson8 said:Hey everyone! Honestly, I never thought I’d be the type to actually jump onto some random internet forum. But ever since I started obsessing over getting a nose job, I just can't help myself... I actually ended up signing up here because of rustygardener172 and Adam Smith77—their stories about their surgeon really caught my eye. I’d be super grateful if you two could shoot me a private message with your before and after photos. Seeing the real results might actually help me stop spiraling and finally pick a doctor...

Sent. They've got a few typos, but honestly, who cares about perfect grammar right now? 😉
I actually saw the exact same doctor as Adam Smith77...
stormyharbor2 said:I'm actually curious about this too. I read somewhere that cartilage can actually grow back. So what happens then? 😕

So you just go right back in to grind it down again... and when it grows back, you grind it down again, and when it grows back, you grind it down again, and when it grows back, you grind it down again, and when it grows back, you grind it down again... yeah, it's a loop. If you're stubborn as hell, sure, you can keep playing that game. But if you aren't, you'll probably just throw in the towel after a few rounds and figure out how to live with that cartilage doing its own thing. 😂 🤣 😂 🤣
