Rachel Barnes5 said:The whole point of a rhinoplasty shouldn't be about totally reinventing someone's face. It’s about getting a nose that actually fits the person's features—not those cookie-cutter, upturned, "perfect" noses that look fake. You know, the kind of style surgeons used to push back in the 70s and 80s like they were some kind of trend.
Unless they're one of the rare exceptions, obviously.😉

Honestly, my nose has a bit of a bump right now, 😁 hahaha, BUT it works perfectly with my face because everything else is so small and delicate. 😛

Rachel Barnes5 said:Personally, I much prefer a nose where you can't even tell it was operated on—something that just blends in naturally and looks subtle.

People who don't know I had surgery could never guess I got a nose job because it looks completely natural. 🙂 ☕

Rachel Barnes5 said:So when some surgeon starts preaching about how a "nose should be the centerpiece of the face," I know exactly what kind of ego I'm dealing with. 😁

Dr. Glusac told me straight up that I have beautiful eyes, and once he finishes my nose, everyone will be too busy looking at my eyes to even notice the work... since the nose won't jump out at anyone. It'll just be seamless.😵
stormyharbor2 said:I’m really curious about what that process is actually like. I've heard people describe it before... like they just hit you with a sedative injection right away, blah blah blah...

So, I finally laid down, and they stuck one of those IV needles into a vein in my arm (on the back of the hand?! hahaha I don't even know the technical term)... first, they started running some fluid through it... but since my vein couldn't handle it and started swelling up, they had to stick another needle higher up on my arm to move the fluid over... that one worked fine... Honestly, everything is still a bit foggy; I have no clue exactly when I drifted off.
🙂
stormyharbor2 said:Hey guys, Elizabeth Collins5 and I are both wondering what the deal is with general vs. local anesthesia before surgery. If anyone could break it down, that would be awesome, because honestly, it's all a bit confusing.

Look, you really ought to ask a medical professional about this... I haven't got a clue, and frankly, I highly doubt any of the other girls here know either.
Maybe just do a quick search on some health site; there’s bound to be an article covering it. 🙂

As for me, I just drifted off, felt absolutely nothing, and woke up with a perfect new nose... I was pretty sure I was under general anesthesia, but honestly, I wouldn't bet my life on it. 🙂 Elizabeth Collins5 totally threw me for a loop. 😉
Same here, honestly. Everything’s just a mess on my end too.
Nancy Perez74 said:I seriously cannot believe this! Apparently, Dottyika thinks my old nose is actually an improvement, hahaha! I’m sitting here just stunned—can you even believe that?🤣

Honestly, I felt the exact same way about my old nose. It was totally fine with me, you know? But now? I don't know, it’s just like someone gave it a little touch-up to make it look a bit more polished. It's definitely "prettier" now, if that's even what matters. 😁
stormyharbor2 said:If you’re implying I was attacking any doctors, you’ve got it wrong—I haven't seen anyone dragging Dr. Glusac through the mud lately, so let's just Chillax. ☕

That's not even what I meant. I'm talking about her second-guessing herself by choosing Dr. Ostojic despite all those crappy posts floating around about him on this forum...
Honestly, shame on you, you aren't paying any attention at all 😉 😛
Nancy Perez74 said:I also just want to throw this out there for anyone who decides to go under the knife with a certain surgeon, only to stumble upon some horror stories online later. Suddenly you're spiraling, panicking, and completely paralyzed because you don't know what move to make next... My honest, friendly advice? TRUST YOURSELF!!! Listen to your gut and that inner voice, not some random internet hearsay.
At the end of the day, you're the one who can tell if a doctor actually earns your trust or not.

See, I told you. 😁 Bravo, look at me being all smart and stuff. 😍
Look, ladies... we aren't here to tear each other apart... we’ve all been through the exact same ringer at one point or another. We're actually here to swap info and hopefully lend a hand to someone who's struggling right now.
Honestly, I don't buy the idea that Matthew Turner4's post is some kind of shill job. I feel the exact same way, so I totally get where they're coming from. It feels like everything turns into a "sponsored ad" the second someone starts praising a doctor, but what about all those people who spend their time trashing one? Maybe they're just working for the competition? 😁

Anyway, it would be great if we could just drop the bickering and actually focus on why this thread was even started in the first place. 😍
Apparently, some people here totally took me the wrong way?!
Look, all I care about is how the doctor actually does the job, not what some random person writes about him online. You can find gossip about anyone on the internet. But when you see real, happy people standing right in front of you, breathing perfectly fine and rocking gorgeous noses... the whole debate over who typed what first just becomes irrelevant.
If you’re being so incredibly nitpicky that you're still obsessing over this... good luck to you! Let us know what you "discover" 😉 but honestly... being that petty isn't exactly a trait worth bragging about... especially when we're talking about your face. It’s always the perfectionists who finish their first surgery, find one tiny little thing they didn't expect, and then run off to get a second one... then they start nitpicking again... then they're already dreaming about a third... a fourth... a fifth... 😁

And don't even try telling me I didn't do my homework before picking my surgeon! I learned my lesson the hard way once, so now I over-analyze everything. That was my second surgery—and it wasn't because I was being picky, it was because the first one failed functionally; I was breathing like an elephant with a sinus infection. And hey... I got lucky... or maybe I was just smart... whatever you want to call it... the second one was a total success! I truly don't give a damn if he copied a sentence from another doctor, because that doesn't change the fact that he did a stellar job and gave me the relief I feel every single day! 🙏
stormyharbor2 said:Greeneyes, you there? ☕ Send some pics, or let me see you on Skype. 🤣

I’m still stuck on why the "media" section on Branko Glušac's site looks identical to what some American doctor has posted. Who actually came up with this "nasal memory surgery" nonsense, and who’s just ripping off whom? I mean, is it even necessary to lie about stuff like that? 😕 Now I'm second-guessing everything again.

You're really splitting hairs over nothing here... Branko Glušac was in the States... who knows... maybe he worked alongside that doctor 🙂 and travels all over the world for seminars... Maybe he thinks he was the first to start doing this in America, while this other guy might be based in the US... honestly, people all over the world try to claim credit for everything...
...either way, you're just giving yourself a headache for no reason.

As for those open vs. closed techniques... The open method was the original way noses were operated on. The closed technique is the newer approach; nobody used to operate like that before. Now, the closed method has become the standard practice, while the open one is mostly reserved for more complex cases. There’s a good reason the open method was replaced by the closed one... recovery is way easier, there aren't visible scars, and look, I'm just rambling now because I'm clearly not some medical expert capable of dropping hard facts—just like that girl claiming the open technique is better. 😁
But seriously... it's like asking... Why would anyone opt for invasive surgery to remove a kidney stone when there's a chance to just blast it away with ultrasound technology?! Medicine moves forward every single day. People hunt for better ways to do things, and old techniques get left in the rearview mirror... except in extreme circumstances.
At the end of the day, we're all just sitting here crossing our fingers. Once we're laid out on that operating table, we can only hope the surgery goes well, regardless of which specific technique they decide to use on us. 😂
Megan Moore76 said:I'm really curious about the closed technique Branko Glušac uses... is that actually effective for just fixing minor stuff, like lifting and slightly tweaking the tip? This whole "closed technique" thing has me feeling pretty confused... 😢Does the doctor still get the same level of visibility and control compared to an open rhinoplasty?

Look, of course it’s good. Honestly, it’s arguably better because you don't end up with those visible scars you get with the open approach. If the surgeon knows what they're doing—and we know he does—they'll have more than enough visibility even with the closed method. Branko Glušac works exclusively using the closed technique.
stormyharbor2 said:@Princess, did they cut that same muscle on you?

I don't think so... at least not the way Dr. Ostojić does it... underneath the lip... I don't have any incision there at all. 🤷
Honestly, it doesn't even sound that bad to me. Since you're basically having your facial bones reshaped... a tiny little scalpel cut under the lip is practically nothing. 🙂 ☕
At the end of the day, I just care about being happy with the results. How he actually gets there while I'm out cold... I really don't give a damn 🙂 that's his job and he knows what he's doing... he could have tattooed a smiley face on my cartilage for all I care, as long as my nose turns out right, who cares? It wouldn't even be visible anyway. 😂
...hey, a little humor never hurt anybody. 😉
stormyharbor2 said:🤣

Thanks for the heads-up, man. Honestly, that’s actually pretty encouraging to hear for once. So, you actually managed to get some decent pain meds out of the visit? That’s huge. Hey, rustygardener172, did you end up getting anything prescribed too? I think you saw the same doctor, right?😬

I don't know... all I know for sure is that nothing ever actually hurt. 😁 Yeah, probably... I mean, honestly, if you ask me, that's likely how it's gonna go down. It’s just one of those things where you see the writing on the wall and realize there isn't much else to say. Just another day in the life, I guess.
Honestly, I’ve been down that road too—I ended up on heparin myself for a while. It’s just one of those things you have to deal with. 🙂 And of course, you’ve got those cold compresses to deal with. You can pick them up at any CVS or Walgreens around the corner... they're dirt cheap, honestly. Like, less than a few bucks. $6.75I mean, seriously? That’s just freaking awesome!
Nancy Perez74 said:It’s a little late to try and stop the swelling now—I was already dealing with this mess back when I was still at their clinic... but honestly, my biggest worry right now is that my lips have basically vanished. It’s like they’ve shrunk to half their size and gotten super thin, and my eyes are all puffy like a raccoon's...🤷...seriously, what happened to my lips? Where did they go??
I mean, look, my whole face is pretty much distorted right now, but I’m doing my best to just stay away from mirrors.....

hahahahahhahahahaah, they'll come back, don't even sweat it! They probably just dried out because you've been mouth-breathing through the swelling 😁 hahahhaha
My best advice? Stop looking in the mirror entirely. I swear, I didn't even give myself a proper look in a mirror for the first month... and honestly, that’s the best tip I can give you. Your face is going to change by the hour, so there is zero point in just scaring yourself half to death :*
Nancy Perez74 said:hey ladies ....thanks for all the love....anyway, I'm up and ready to roll...heading into surgery now!
fingers crossed everything goes smooth today, that's all I've got for now....love you guys!!

It’s gonna be just fine!! You better check back in and let us know how it went 👍
Nancy Perez74 said:But that’s the whole point—some girls on here claimed they coordinated everything with their surgeon, and then it turned into an absolute disaster....

Honestly, when I talk to my guy, he seems great. He actually listens and gets where I'm coming from... but reading all this stuff? Total panic mode. Maybe this forum isn't the ultimate truth—who knows? Another doctor I spoke with (Alexander Milenović) straight up told me, "If you're spending too much time reading forums, you're asking for trouble."

That other doctor was telling you the gospel truth. Don't take every single post on this board so seriously. 😲 Sure, maybe three girls posted because their rhinoplasty went south, but that doesn't mean the surgeon is incompetent across the board. What about all the other women who had perfect results and didn't feel the need to jump on a forum to brag?! This isn't some scientific study or a representative sample group that gives us a perfectly objective view of reality.
I've said it before and I'll say it again... just breathe. You picked this doctor yourself, so there's probably a damn good reason why you did. Trust your gut a little more and try to stop spiraling into the negative.
Check out what Zachary Nguyen29 has been saying... she seems incredibly happy with how her nose turned out. 😍 Just skim through some of her posts...
Anyway...
Good luck tomorrow!!!!!! We're all crossing our fingers for you!!!! 👍 And please, let us know how it goes!!!! Kisses! :*
jadehawk83 said:As far as he’s concerned, one thing is absolutely certain: he’s out here churning out these tiny, adorable little treats with a cute profile, but let’s be real—they’ve got massive, heavy-duty bases. I’m telling you, just go take a look at his photo gallery. It'll prove my point. Personally? I’m more of a chubby, thick-set type with a wide, heavy foundation.😁

I just finished scrolling through the entire gallery... and honestly? It looks like they all walked away with the exact same nose they started with. Not a single change to be seen.
jadehawk83 said:Yeah, yeah, sure... except it’s been six years already. And did I flirt? Yeah, I did. But honestly, you really think it's my fault that I was born with this wide nose?? HHAHAHHAA😂

So, what's the move then? What are we actually doing here? 😁 Look, I’m not saying you’re the one to blame here—don't get me wrong—but it’s pretty much common knowledge at this point that getting some lymphatic drainage done really helps speed up the recovery process after surgery. It just works.
So, what's the move? Are you actually heading to the second one, or have you finally decided that wide nose is part of your soul now?
Nancy Perez74 said:I actually feel sick right now—just scrolling through a few pages and seeing all these girls complaining about how John Smith totally ruined them... and I have my surgery scheduled in just a few days...
I’ve read some seriously terrifying stuff here... I mean, I have to say something to him, right?? I can't just play dumb and pretend I didn't see any of this. Ugh, my stomach is literally turning, what am I supposed to do???

Yeah... but look, there are also tons of glowing reviews about him on this forum too. Don't let the negativity get in your head... you'll just end up stressing yourself out and attracting bad vibes everywhere you go.😢
Try reading some of those positive posts... you know, the ones where women are saying they are ABSOLUTELY thrilled with their new noses.
Honestly, if I were in your shoes, I wouldn't back out of the surgery... you chose him for a reason in the first place. At least that was my deal. Just don't bring up anything that isn't directly related to your actual procedure... focus on your own case and be EXTREMELY specific about exactly what kind of nose you want. Don't back down until you both agree 100% on the details.
Good luck!! 👍
jadehawk83 said:It used to be narrow, but my doctor really helped widen it up beautifully!

Wait, how is that even possible?! Why?! I honestly don't get it...
How long has it been since the surgery? Because if they actually had to break bones during the procedure... you get this callus formation where the fracture was, which makes the nose look way wider than it actually is. But that swelling and bone regrowth usually settles down within a year. If it hasn't been that long yet, just hang in there and wait a bit... Honestly, mine looked super wide right after the operation too... but now, even though it's only been a month, it's already returning to its normal shape... getting thinner and thinner... basically going back to how it was before. In fact, I feel like it might end up looking even slimmer than it did originally 😁
Have you been massaging it regularly?
