Honestly, I haven't a clue... maybe try posting in one of those other threads where people actually break down lab results... I can't remember the exact name of the sub... 😁 or just hang tight and let your doctor explain everything when you see them. 😉

I've been lurking here for a bit reading through all your stories trying to keep my cool, but honestly, the closer we get to surgery day, the more I’m freaking out. I’m heading to Mercy Hospital to see Dr. Bačić for a deviated septum repair. They told me they aren't going to touch anything else—just straighten that septum so I can actually breathe through my nose like a normal person.
So—has anyone here dealt with him or had any experience at that hospital?
Based on everything I've read, I'm packing some chocolate snacks and just trying not to lose it when the bleeding starts... any other advice?

Look, being scared is totally normal. Anyone who tells you they weren't nervous is lying through their teeth. 😁 My best advice is just to take a deep breath and chill. It’s going to be fine. When I had my septum fixed, it was nothing—honestly, it didn't even hurt. I didn't even end up with black eyes. Just prepare yourself for the fact that breathing through your mouth for about five days is going to be super annoying and your mouth is going to feel like a desert... but other than that, it's a breeze.
Good luck! I'll be crossing my fingers for you. Let us know how it goes!
stormyharbor2 said:Has anyone else ended up looking like this after surgery?

Omfg. 😲

I mean, guys don't seem to swell as much as women do, 🙂 but man, this guy is seriously puffy. On my second day post-op, I had this massive bruise under one eye and a smaller one on the other... but by day 4, I was already looking way more human. 😁
jadecrane3 said:🤷 Honestly, I’m just beyond disappointed. Looking back, I’m kicking myself for not just going somewhere else in the first place...

Man, I am seriously, truly sorry about this... 😢 Dr. Glušac is out here claiming that those burrs only happen because of grinding—you know, like when you're using a file to smooth things out. But honestly? He doesn't even use that method himself. He just goes straight for the cut.

So, what’s the move now? You going for round three? Is it super obvious to everyone watching, or can you just play it cool and brush it off?
stormyharbor2 said:Only 4? I honestly thought they’d stay in longer than that.

Well, it just depends on the person, right? Like, I know some people who have to deal with nasal tampons for 2 to 4 days and then the packing for a full 6 or 7... but over at Dr. Glušac's office, it's way faster—tampons for just one day and the packing for 4. 😁
stormyharbor2 said:I’m honestly just wondering how nobody else seems to get nose molds?😬 Like, I noticed Dr. Glušac doesn't use them on me, so is that thing only used after massive reconstructive surgeries or what?

Oh man... I totally missed this question entirely. 🙂 Actually, Dr. Glušac *does* use a mold, it's just a bit different—it's like this mesh thing... I had to wear it for four days straight along with some heavy taping... and then after that, I just stuck with the tape for a few more days.
Nancy Perez74 said:I'm not going *that* far—that much is for sure. With all the plastic surgeons in NYC... what if something goes sideways? Like, I'd actually have to fly out to the coast just to get him to fix it? Yeah, no thanks.

Plus, it seriously bugs me how everyone keeps telling me I don't need nose surgery.

Look, if you want a killer nose, traveling is totally worth it. 😁 As for complications... honestly, if things go south, you're screwed no matter where you are. But let's be real: in this day and age, major issues like that are pretty damn rare.
Nancy Perez74 said:I'm planning on getting surgery soon, so I was hoping you guys could point me toward a private plastic surgeon in Washington, D.C. who can give me that cute, slightly upturned nose. Honestly, I'm not looking for that classic straight profile that Glumičić suggested during my consultation—I want the tip to tilt up just a bit. Between Tony Stark and John Smith, who would be better for that specific look?? Thanks!

If you go to Glušac, he'll definitely give you that upturned nose you're looking for.
William Robinson49 said:So, here’s my update—I finally got the mold taken off today. I caught a tiny glimpse of what was going on under the new bandages before everything got covered up again. Honestly, I didn't get much of a look since the doctor was busy cleaning out my nose, which is always a bit awkward, but
it wasn't too bad. Now that it's all cleaned up, I can actually breathe through both nostrils. It’ll probably clog up again soon, but if I stick to the nasal drops, some oil, and saline after the next cleaning, I should be fine.
My wife watched the whole thing while they were applying the tape, and she thinks it looks awesome. It’s still a little swollen, but that’ll likely hang around for another week or so...

I actually ran into rustygardener172 right outside the clinic—her nose is top-tier. It’s got that perfect, feminine, slightly cute look... honestly, I think that’s exactly what she was going for. It looks great; a bit puffy still, but killer...
Of course, I have no clue what it looked like before, but right now? It’s perfect. It’s not just about the shape of the nose itself, but how naturally it fits the rest of my face.

Hopefully, I’ll get these bandages off by Tuesday, then I can give my nose a proper inspection and report back to you guys...

😁 Thanks!! 😁 I’m also really happy with how mine turned out 😍

Yours is gonna be awesome too! You gotta trust the wife... if she says it looks great, then it looks great. 😉 The main thing is that she loves it. 🎉

Oh my god, I am so sorry... I just realized I totally forgot to send this to you! I was dead certain I already hit send... My bad. Anyway, mistake fixed, picture sent! 🙂
Sandra Anderson61 said:Hey everyone, if anyone knows anything, could you please tell me about Dr. Glusac? I heard he does nose surgeries using the latest techniques over in the US.
I'm actually from Mexico, and I'm seriously considering getting my nose done after stumbling upon his work on YouTube.
Thanks!

Are you kidding me right now? 😕At least have the decency to read the last page before jumping in...
@ Sony... you've gotta be kidding me with this PM

William Robinson49 said:So, here’s my deal—I just had my surgery yesterday with Dr. Glušac down in Malibu. They wrapped things up around 10:00 PM, and I ended up crashing for an hour or so in the office while the doc finished up another patient. After midnight, he dropped me off at the hotel (staying at Osojeva’s place, which was top-tier) and walked my wife through everything, gave her some ice, and all that jazz...
I didn't get much sleep, honestly, but I felt totally fine by morning. My eyes are looking a bit bruised/blue, but the swelling isn't too bad. Around 10:00 AM, the doctor picked me up from the hotel and took me back to the clinic to pull out those sponge tampons. It doesn't actually hurt, just feels a little weird. Honestly, the whole surgery itself is painless—you don't feel a thing. Once they pulled the tampons and cleaned me up, I grabbed my gear from the hotel, settled the bill, and was back home in San Diego by 2:00 PM (about a two-hour drive, easy peasy).
The only annoying thing right now is a tiny bit of blood trickling from my right nostril—hopefully, that's just part of the process. I'm sticking to the drops and the paraffin oil.
Sunday morning I head back to get the cast removed, and then it's game over.....
That's when I'll see the final look—fingers crossed it's good. My wife caught a glimpse before the cast went on, but everything was still super swollen because the tampons kind of stretch the nostrils out. The bump is gone, though, and we'll see the rest on Sunday.

Anyway, the doctor’s vibe is great—really laid back and chill. That works for me. Some people might want more formality, but you can tell just by how he carries himself that the guy absolutely knows his stuff...
Man, I cannot wait for Sunday.

Yeah, it's pricey, but nothing hurts (for me, the worst part was just the needle for the anesthesia). Everything else was fine—just a few uncomfortable moments, but zero pain.

Maybe this helps anyone who's still on the fence...

I'm sure everything turned out great. Don't stress about Sunday 🙂 I'll probably be heading in for a check-up around then too... I'm also from San Diego 😁 Maybe we'll run into each other. Hang in there! Just expect the bruising colors to shift day by day. 😲 😢 🙄 🙂 yeah, something like that
Alright, I've sent those photos over via DM to everyone who asked... fingers crossed they actually landed in your inbox. 🙂 Honestly, I am absolutely obsessed with how my new glasses turned out!! 😍 Hopefully you guys dig them as much as I do 😬
William Robinson49 Asks:
Hey everyone, God bless.
So, I’m heading in for surgery this Tuesday, and honestly, my nose is a total disaster—on a scale of 1 to 5, I’m sitting at a solid 4. It’s been a nightmare. Between three different traumas, a deviated septum, that weird semi-Greek shape, a bump, and just being way too big and wide... it's a mess. I decided to go with Dr. Glušac out in Malibu. He seems like a decent guy; we actually sat down and had a real conversation about everything for a while.
He swore to me that everything was going to be fine—that first I’d finally be able to breathe like a normal human being again, and then, eventually, "it"—you know, my nose—would look way better. Honestly? Somehow, I actually believe him.
I really hope I made the right call here. Something tells me the first thing on the agenda is going to be all about the doctor.
And then there's nothing left... just the aftermath.

I'll hit you guys up once I have the results in hand.

I think you absolutely nailed it with that choice!! Seriously, top-tier decision making right there. 👍
Megan Moore76 said:So, what kind of noses were you guys rocking before (rustygardener172 and Aaron Perez14)? Did you go under the knife strictly for the looks, or was it also about being able to actually breathe? Sorry if you’ve already covered this somewhere, I must have missed it.
For me, honestly, I'm only looking at the aesthetics. I gotta admit, you guys really piqued my interest when you mentioned Dr. Glušac 🙂.

So, here goes my first post on this forum 😁 everything is laid out 🙂

rustygardener172 said:Hey everyone!
I've been lurking here for a while now... I've read pretty much every single post in this thread. They've helped me out a ton, though some parts were a bit discouraging too 😁 It shouldn't be hard to guess why I'm popping up... obviously, because I'm planning to get nose surgery myself 👍 I'm not even slightly scared of the surgery, let alone the recovery... My only real issue is finding a specialist who can actually deliver the results I want. I've had one surgery before through Medicare... I can't remember exactly which year it was, but I know I was watching an England-USA game from my hospital bed—the one we won thanks to a lucky break, which I'm sure the guys on this forum will remember... 😁 My nose isn't big or bumpy, it's just crooked. Back in the hospital, I had surgery to fix a deviated septum because I could barely breathe. After that, breathing was fine, but they didn't fix the shape... in fact, it's the opposite; as the years go by, it's getting more and more crooked... at this rate, my nose tip is going to merge with my earlobe 🤣 and my breathing is just getting worse and worse... I've been doing some digging online... the type of procedure I need is called rhinoseptoplasty. On Dr. John Smith's website, it says this is the "most demanding type of rhinoplasty" because it covers everything—both aesthetic and functional aspects.
To make a long story short... my question is: since I'm based in San Diego... before I even decide to book a first consultation... do you know which of the doctors mentioned actually respond to emails? I was thinking of sending over a few photos and using their replies to decide which one to see for a consultation. Reading through all your posts, I've "narrowed down" my choices to Bastajić, John Smith, and Tony Stark... even Glumičić and Dr. Glušac haven't totally fallen off my list yet. So you see why I put "narrowed" in quotes... it's not exactly a tiny selection 😕 🤷
Thanks in advance for any help!
stormyharbor2 said:I bruise if someone even looks at me wrong!😳 🤣

Yeah, I read it. Is he seriously the only guy in the whole country who doesn't butcher noses?🤷 And why does everyone flock to those plastic surgeons in NYC then? Honestly, he sounds like the best one I've come across so far. It was actually the first time I watched an entire surgery on YouTube without feeling like I was gonna puke—looked pretty painless, actually. Though, my own situation was 👎

That’s basically me 🙂 One of my eyes was totally swollen and bruised deep purple, while the other one barely had anything going on. The swelling went down after a day or two, but the bruising stayed... now I look like I’ve got jaundice 🙂 lol

Everyone heads to those NYC surgeons because they have massive ad budgets and people just assume (exactly like you did) that everything worth doing happens in NYC... Like, "NYC is the big metropolis"... NYC is a metropolis my ass, but hey, whatever 😁
stormyharbor2 said:I'm pretty sure I’m looking at a total nose reconstruction at this point. Honestly, it's probably going to be a massive project. 😢 Honestly, I’m more terrified that it’s gonna end up looking even more lopsided and stay huge than I am about the actual pain. Like, what if it just stays wonky forever? Seriously, can someone shoot me some photos via DM?😁

Never mind, I finally tracked down the website! Check out this site: http://www.estetskeoperacije.com/

Honestly, I’m seeing nothing but glowing reviews on Google lately. It’s actually kind of wild. I’m definitely adding it to my list. 😛

So, why on earth is he claiming there’s zero bruising after his surgeries? And what's with the whole routine of pulling the entire lump out and actually showing it to the patients? It’s wild.😲 I’ve got this nagging feeling that he’s only interested in fixing the tiny, insignificant details—you know, just to avoid having to swallow his pride or admit he was wrong. It's like he'd rather nitpick everyone else than actually take a hit to his own ego.

Look, here’s the deal: we take the hump out entirely and show the patient exactly what we're dealing with. I see other surgeons constantly filing down the hump, thinking they're doing something clever, but then thirty days later? You’ve got a bunch of tiny little bumps popping up all over the bridge. It's a mess.

We handle all our procedures using a closed technique—basically, everything happens from the inside out. That way, there are absolutely no visible stitches because they just absorb back into your body naturally, leaving you with zero external scarring. It’s much cleaner that way.

I was sweating bullets too, honestly, but hey... look at that. It turned out totally fine—completely flat and tiny. 😁
Honestly, when it comes to the pain... there's absolutely nothing to complain about. I haven't touched a single painkiller since my surgery. Like, seriously—zero. Not even a little bit!
Because it works in such a unique way—I mean, it’s not like it's going to go and file down your nose or anything. 🙂Plus, they have an absolutely top-tier anesthesiologist and the rest of the crew is just solid. Seriously, this one guy ended up having nose surgery on the exact same day I did. We actually ran into each other the next morning when we were heading in to get our tampons removed. I was looking like a total bruised purple mess, and he? He looked like nothing had even happened. Just completely fine while I was out there looking like I went ten rounds in a boxing ring. 😁 Honestly, it really just comes down to the individual. It’s not some one-size-fits-all situation. You’ll notice that people with lighter hair and fairer complexions tend to deal with way more swelling—they're just naturally more sensitive, you know? But again, I'm telling you, it's totally different for everyone. There's no single rule for this kind of stuff.
Why did you even bother looking for the answer yourself? You basically went out and hunted down the solution like it was some kind of treasure hunt. 🙂 I actually took my little pieces of crusty leftovers home as a souvenir, HHAHAHHAA. I know, I’m absolutely disgusting. 🤣
Look, when you're dealing with the heavy hitters—the stuff that actually keeps surgeons up at night like nasty sports injuries or shattered noses—you go straight to Dr. Glušac. He’s the one who handles the intense cases. His whole process is pretty straightforward, too: he doesn't even touch the aesthetics until he's made sure your breathing is stabilized and functioning perfectly. It’s all about making sure you can actually breathe before he starts worrying about how the "plastic" side of things is going to look. Priority one is survival and function; the vanity stuff comes second.
Emily Sanchez87 said:rustygardener172... honestly, it makes my day that we're totally on the same page about how this new carrier fits. If you haven't gone through that transition yourself, you have no clue what kind of pure bliss we're talking about here. I'm feeling way more chill now; I just look at myself in the mirror and realize it's exactly the fit I was dreaming of. There's no way they could ever guess exactly what someone wants, right? I swear, if I found one that hit this perfectly, I’d be weeping tears of joy! Sending you huge hugs—so glad you reached out.

In a few days, once the swelling finally goes down, the two of us should swap photos over DM so we can compare our gear 🙂 just so we can actually see ourselves properly 🎉 🎉 🎉 🎉
