but the reality is—and this happens more than it should—that competitions are often won by whoever has the better narrative, rather than actual merit or technical skill. It’s usually just about popularity or rewarding someone for their long-term contributions to the field.
It reminds me of when Leo DiCaprio finally snagged his Oscar for one of the most mediocre films out there—though I suppose they gave it to him because he’d been playing the underdog for years. 😁

So what if he called in his crew to vote? I already said it—that's really the only way an outsider stands a chance there, since they have this habit of voting for their own based on merit or just plain old favoritism.
They should probably add a rule stating that only active contributors who actually participate in the contests can vote. Period.😁
