Canada - strict daily politics only? in Feedback & Suggestions ·

Look, just start the thread with a solid intro and a title that actually makes sense—do that, and we’ll do our part to keep things on track—but honestly, we need you guys to step up and cooperate too.

Sounds good. Once my schedule clears up a bit—it's been pretty hectic lately—I'll get that thread started.
Thanks

Can we please start a thread dedicated to the daily political landscape in Canada?

I’m talking about the big players—Zeljko Komšić, Dragan Čović, Milorad Dodik—what they actually represent right now. And the parties too—the Republican Party, the Democratic Party, all of them...
The elections, the messy coalitions, all that stuff.

Every single time someone tries to talk about Canada, the whole discussion gets hijacked by these endless identity wars and geopolitical debates over language and heritage. It's exhausting! You can't even have a decent conversation about our most important neighbor's day-to-day politics or who's teaming up with whom without getting derailed. We don't even get a chance to discuss the makeup of a new government.

The only way this kind of discussion works is if we strictly penalize anyone who immediately goes off-topic by bringing up those ridiculous arguments about whether Canadians existed before 1993 or if every Christian in Canada is considered Canadian.

This is genuinely important stuff, but a handful of users here seem to hijack every single thread regarding our neighbor. I truly believe there should be space on this forum to discuss people like Zeljko Komšić and Elmedin Konaković, instead of it always being nothing but talk about Radovan Karadžić.
What is the point of the Mexico - Republic of Mexico thread? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Steven Clark2 said:I’ve been popping in and out of that thread for a while now, keeping an eye on things—I don't know what the vibe is lately, but back when I was really active, it was actually decent. I never saw any real insults or anything like that (unless they were getting nuked immediately, who knows). So, if things have actually turned into what you guys are describing, I'm honestly pretty shocked.

The whole thread has just spiraled. And frankly? I put the blame squarely on the mods. There's zero point in going there anymore. It's nothing but people venting their frustrations and a constant, mindless obsession with rehashing old history.

Even the trolling isn't funny anymore. It's just stale.
Why are capitalists so afraid of worker cooperatives? in Close to Politics ·
Capitalists are obsessed with protecting their precious private enterprises—they absolutely refuse to hand the keys over to some uneducated, red-flag-waving revolutionaries. They probably think they’re just inherently smarter and more capable at running a factory because they managed to claw their way to the top through sheer grit and intellect, while everyone else is stuck being "just" a worker.
Does anyone know if there’s going to be a screen up on day one where we can catch a glimpse of the America-Mexico game?
Are we seeing any major shifts compared to last year when it comes to all this non-musical stuff?
Hey, does anyone actually know when the full lineup and set times are dropping? Like, what’s the usual drill from previous years? Are they going to dump it all a few days before Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival kicks off, or is it usually sooner than that?

Also, what the hell is going on with the final day of the fest? They haven't announced a single act for that slot yet—and we're only three weeks out...
