It’s an Intel Core i5-8400, clocked at 3.40GHz with 16MB of cache on the AM4 socket. I guess it's a decent enough setup. The MS Dark Shadow Pro case is a solid gaming option if you’re looking for that tempered glass aesthetic. It also comes with a dust filter, which is always a plus. 1TB WD Blue HDD, 3.5", 7200RPM, 64MB Cache, SATA3, WD10EZEX FSP Fortron/Source Aurum S 500W power supply, ATX 2.3, AS-500. Crucial BX500 240GB SSD, SATA3, SA400S37/240G G.Skill Aegis DDR4 16GB kit (2x8GB), 3000MHz CL16, PC4-24000U (F4-3000C16D-16GISB). Total: $2.25 I guess I should probably mention that AMD Ryzen 5 2600.
I guess I put this review together just for you:
I can't actually watch videos through this link, so I'm flying blind here. If you want my take on it, maybe just drop some details about what's happening in the clip? I guess I could try to weigh in if I knew what we were looking at.
I think the Thrustmaster is probably the better pick, though you're missing out on the clutch. I definitely wouldn't pay more than $400 for a used G7, especially since you can sometimes find them brand new for around 1500-$533.
Intel Core i5 8600K($767) RTX 2080 with a 3-year warranty($2167) 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3000MHz($367) Gigabyte Z390 UD (maybe a GTX 1050 upgrade later)($367) CPU cooler (probably $30-$$117) Case of your choice, say maybe $70-$267 A 250GB Samsung 970 EVO for the boot drive($217), a 500GB Crucial MX500($230) for games, and a 1TB HDD for extra storage($100) A Seasonic or Corsair 550W/650W 80+ Gold power supply—roughly $267
The case and graphics card seem like solid choices. I guess you'll need to buy a DVD burner separately, though this specific case doesn't actually have a slot for one, so maybe look for a different model.
What NVIDIA GTX 660? Don't be ridiculous... you can't find them for less than $167, and honestly, they perform worse than an HD 7850 these days. I guess those Intel Core i7 chips aren't really worth it either... maybe an FX 6300 if you're looking at $83 or less.
You could probably find an RX 470 or 570 with a bit of warranty left for a little more money, but honestly, the processor is way too weak for those anyway. If you aren't planning on upgrading that, I guess you could probably get away with something cheaper.
So, I'm looking at this EVGA GeForce RTX 3080—specifically the 8GB HBM2 model. It’s an interesting piece of hardware, I guess. Maybe an Intel Core i5-7600K in a retail box, clocked at 3.6GHz with 16MB, on an LGA 1200 socket. Corsair Vengeance LPX, 16GB DDR4 (2x8GB) kit, PC4-21300 at 2666MHz with CL16 timings. I guess the MSI B350M Mortar is what we're looking at here—it's an LGA 1200 board. I guess I'm looking at a 240GB Samsung 870 EVO SSD, SATA3, model SA400S37/240G. Seagate BarraCuda 1TB HDD, 3.5", 7200RPM, 64MB Cache, SATA3, HDWD110UZSVA It’s an FSP 600W unit, specifically the Hyper series—an ATX 2.31 model (HP600, PPA6003302). I guess it's just your standard power supply. Arctic Freezer 33, compatible with LGA 1200, 1150, 1151, 1155, 1156, 2011, 2011-3, 2066, and LGA 1200, ACFRE00028A. Corsair Hydro Series case, black with a window, no PSU included, ATX, fsp-cmt240-bl.
Total: $2.75 AMD
Plus a 144Hz VA monitor with FreeSync.
Found this AOC monitor on a site over at Best Buy. Might be worth a look, I guess.
If you aren't looking for something brand new... maybe grab a used card with a warranty? I'd look for an RX 470/570/480/580 or a NVIDIA GTX 1060. You should be able to find them all in the $900-$367 range.
