I was watching some clips of a tournament earlier today, and I realized I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with professional golf. On one hand, the sheer skill required to hit a ball across a massive landscape like that is mind-blowing. There’s something hypnotic about watching someone navigate high winds and tricky terrain under pressure.
On the other hand, it can feel so incredibly slow. I find myself scrolling through my phone halfway through a broadcast because the pacing just isn't there for me. I love the tension of a big tournament, but sometimes it feels like I'm watching grass grow in high definition. I keep trying to get into the technical side of it, but I think I just crave a bit more constant action.
Do you guys watch for the intense pressure moments, or is it more of a "background noise" kind of sport for you?
When I first caught that trailer, I honestly thought this might be a classy way for him to ride off into the sunset, especially with that Ennio Morricone score playing in the background.
Sadly, if it weren't a Clint Eastwood flick, you could probably catch this playing on PBS at 2:30 on a Saturday afternoon. It’s a pretty thin plot that we've all seen a thousand times before. The whole "heroic adventure" vibe feels about as naive as reading a Hardy Boys mystery. If you aren't a die-hard fan, don't even bother.
I honestly think the Coachella organizers should just go for it and book one or even two massive, mainstream headliners. They could easily bump up the ticket price by about $25-$67. If people were willing to drop over $150 for someone like U2, I don't see why they couldn't just add another $67 onto the current ticket price to land a huge act at Central Park. Let's face it, tons of people fly all over the country for shows where the flight and hotel alone cost five times more than a Coachella ticket.

If I remember right, the only real option from Chicago is Greyhound, but they don't even run on Sundays or Mondays. The earliest you could make it to New York City would be taking a bus from Cleveland at 6:00 AM, which gets you there by 8:40. For the trip back, the first bus from New York City to Cleveland leaves at 8:30, and the one heading to Chicago isn't until 5:00 PM.
Pretty mid movie, nothing to write home about if you ask me. The plot isn't exactly groundbreaking, though the acting was decent—especially that scene where they take the plunge from the 8th floor...🙂 I wouldn't say it's a snooze fest, it's definitely watchable, but I was hoping for something more. Fingers crossed the sequels actually bring more to the table. 6.8/10
Elemetal killed it! Honestly, such a bummer they had to play in that brutal heat though... Once they wrapped up, I swung by the retro Stefson set and caught maybe the last couple of songs... man, what a vibe. Easily the best spontaneous moment of the whole festival. Everyone was losing it—laughing, dancing, the choreography, even when they jumped into the crowd... seriously, props to those guys... 🙏 Cypress Hill were just okay... like, they put in the effort, but there were definitely some awkward moments where things just didn't click... Mastodon sounded awesome. A little too aggressive for my taste, but damn, it looked cool... TV on the Radio—missed them entirely because I spent half the time stuck in a massive line waiting for pancakes😵 Grinderman-netko mentioned earlier that there was way too much noise and not enough actual music...
I was hanging out in the second row right by the speakers and yeah... you could pretty much talk without any issues. I don't really get what everyone's complaining about. Like, do you seriously need to scream directly into someone's ear just to be heard? Sure, it could've been louder, but honestly, it sounded totally solid to me...

The CIA looked great performing; the guys really put in the work and managed to pass that energy onto the crowd, even if the set felt a little one-note at times... Everything looked pretty solid overall... I’m definitely salty they didn't come out for an encore, though—one extra song wouldn't have killed them! Plus, Winston's crowd work was a bit awkward... Look, I'm not being intense, but why bring up the old Yugoslavian national team?? If you don't know the history, just keep it quiet; none of us were expecting anything more than a good show, but honestly, they were awesome... especially when they ripped through Civil War, which I totally wasn't expecting

Honestly, this movie is top-tier... I don't think the whole point is just some hero beating a villain; it's more about opening everyone's eyes to the fact that the police aren't exactly what we've been led to believe. The ending matters way less than that big reveal regarding Denzel's true identity...
Honestly... I think this is a great read. My only gripe is that the author gets a bit bogged down in those weird fanboy myths that people in sports circles love to obsess over. Any sane person knows that folks from San Diego aren't some other group, just like we aren't nostalgic for the old days or people from Phoenix are different from New Yorkers. If being an American depends on whether the Republican Party is in power, then I’m definitely not one of them. People actually know what words mean... this is all just sports fanatic folklore.
Honestly, if you ask me, the derby in San Diego is such a tight, high-energy matchup. Compared to that endless rivalry in NYC, it’s way more fun to watch, and the atmosphere from the stands—even on TV—is just better. When Central Park isn't packed, it kind of feels like watching mid-table teams scrap it out. But when our stadium is full? Man, it's electric. It's a bummer when you show up and even with a few thousand people, our section still looks half-empty; the North end is almost always closed off, and lately, the lower levels have been looking pretty sparse too. Same goes for the East and West sides in NYC; they rarely feel totally packed. If every one of our games was a massive showdown like the one on Feb 22nd, it would be legendary, but in San Diego, you can always count on the fan clubs being there. It’s always a blast going down there. Maybe if the fan club actually filled the cage for once, it wouldn't look so empty in Santa Monica either...

I'd just add that there's a massive difference between an Adriatic derby in St. Louis versus one in Seattle. You just can't get the crowd hyped up enough for you guys—even if the Kansas City Chiefs are struggling in their head-to-head matchups, it's just hard to feel the energy from your side.
Hey, don't be like that, man... we'll end up making excuses just like the Boys do when they claim they aren't hyped because we aren't "competition" anymore... Seattle is always Seattle, and they're our biggest rival right after Real Madrid, so I'm always gonna respect Seattle even if they're sitting in 10th place over someone like Cyrus who's currently in 2nd.
