Jack Kelly5 said:It’s honestly kind of wild to me that a handful of the world's elite drivers seemingly can't handle a race when it actually starts raining. Like, I mean, just keeping the car under control at maybe 50-60% capacity, using wet tires, staying in lower gears... it shouldn't be that hard, right?
Are they really just that overrated, to the point where most regular people probably wouldn't even finish the race?

The top-tier drivers were competing right here in the States just last month. We watched them deal with heavy rain and thick fog, and yet, once again, the second fastest driver on the grid had to pull out.
Safety First.

I honestly think we should make it a rule that every single track on the calendar is fully covered by canopies starting next season.

This takes me right back to that legendary VN Canada race and Jerković's infamous four-hour monologue.

It’s about to kick off, so everyone’s going to pile in at once, then we'll see a red flag, and then back to square one... it's always the same cycle, really.
There is a certain satisfaction in seeing them stuck in the gravel.

It’s been quite a while since we've seen a Sainz DNF.

If he’d stayed in a higher gear and dove deeper into the corner, things would have been different.

It reminds me of that old joke about trying to grab a hundred-dollar bill off a Ford dashboard while someone’s flooring it.

The G-force was just too intense.
Bottas finally snapped that streak of 103 consecutive entries into the Third Qualifying Session.

By the way, can we talk about how much those drivers are bouncing? Honestly, Gilles, just watching those few seconds of helmet cam footage makes me feel lightheaded—I can't even imagine trying to pilot a car like that for an hour and a half.
Lance Stroll suddenly veered off the racing line and went straight right into Nicholas Latifi
Sky is reporting that he likely caught a message about someone being on his gearbox during a fast lap, so he moved to the right to clear the way—he just didn't account for Nicholas Latifi being there. He wasn't looking.
That tire came right off the rim, didn't it?

Look, there’s no denying that *Badlands* and *Die Hard* are legendary performances, but I always had such a soft spot for *Moonlighting*. There was just something about that show—it was such a wonderfully relaxing series to unwind to.
If Ferrari manages to stay this reliable and avoids all the usual nonsense throughout the entire season—assuming nobody else steps up their game significantly—I might actually give Carlos Sainz a shot at the title. He’s such a steady hand; nothing flashy, just consistently right there in the mix. The guy didn't suffer a single DNF back in 2021.
He could end up pulling an '82 Nico Rosberg, picking up points from various positions, maybe even snagging a win here and there to rack up those crucial championship points. Charles Leclerc isn't quite that consistent; he'll definitely grab some wins, but he's also prone to making mistakes and flying off track now and then.

Exactly, they'll be launching those things right from Red Square.
So, do they actually think they can just send Sergio Perez out for the fastest lap?

Even Jack Nicholson, who is seven years his junior, had the sense to step away from the spotlight ten years back. It was probably the smarter move.

I don't buy that about Jack Nicholson losing his grip or dealing with dementia.
As far as I can tell, Clint is doing just fine. Sure, he looks his age physically, but his mind is clearly still sharp as a tack.
Now, whether he *should* be acting at this stage? That's a different conversation...
But really, who are we to tell him? Given everything he’s contributed to cinema, if he wants to keep doing what he loves—regardless of how it looks to the rest of us—he should be allowed to.

Son,

What makes this film truly fascinating is the experimental approach they took with Timothée Chalamet. He wasn't even given a full script to study—no specific dialogue to memorize, just a general outline of the plot beats. Everything else was left entirely up to him to improvise on the spot.

The movie has finally hit the major streaming platforms, so I’d love to hear what you all think once you've had a chance to watch it.

That kind of social pressure can absolutely dismantle a career overnight. In the old days, you had guys with enough grit to just do what they wanted and put on a show, but they rarely actually dealt with the fallout. It’s easy to act tough when there’s nothing at stake. Nowadays, having real nerve would mean postponing a race until tomorrow, leaving all those drivers who are essentially just in Formula 1 to chase a paycheck rather than passion to deal with the logistical mess. Risking a driver's life would be pure idiocy.

I completely agree—you don't gamble with people's lives or safety. But if he had made the call, we'd be racing tomorrow, and anyone in a hurry to get to Zandvoort could have left even today... I think it’s easy for us to sit here and debate this, but it’s a different story when you have billionaires breathing down your neck and pulling strings behind the scenes.
